Hey, you guys are rockin!!

Jerry, first, I haven't a clue how to get that e-mail on this site; second, I'm not sure I could find it anyway; and third, maybe it's better they don't know.  Besides, as the years pass & this bit of nonsense becomes part of Napa lore, people can make up stories re: the origin.  People will make up lies anyway, so what the hey.

Larry, re: the "big band pants" -- of course they were big.  Back then you were so small you didn't even have hips! My wrist is getting better.  Got the second cast off two weeks ago & now sport a brace most of the time.  Started physical therapy & that's going well.  Hope to be playing volleyball again by the end of August.  Thanks for asking.

Bill & Larry -- Yes, Covey was a class act.  I think we were most fortunate in that respect in Napa.  At Ridgeview, we had Misters Berger, Smith & Estes.  I know of Mr. Humpert & Mr. Williams (Jim?), and I'm sure there were others @ Silverado & Redwood.  There were a couple of clunkers (think Garzoli) but for the most part I think they were a first-rate bunch.

To all you Andorra/Andora/Andoria/Endora fans -- Do you really think anyone's been there?  Don't believe anything Dickel says -- she was hit in the head with a baseball bat @ Ridgeview & can't be trusted..........

Jerry, I hope it never ends.

Berger, Smith & Estes. Now THAT brings back some fond memories.

As far as getting hit by a baseball bat, that brings back painful memories. Like the time at Ridgeview, I was in the On Deck circle and the batter swung hard ... and let go of the bat. It smacked me right in the thigh. My upper leg was black and blue for days. I can still feel the pain.

Hey, anyone planning to go to McCartney's "Farewell to Candlestick" concert in August?

I saw the Beatles on their second american tour, at the Cow Palace, and then (with Wally Beers) saw them at their last official concert at Candlestick. I remember that the show at the Cow Palace was pretty scary. They announced that kids could come down to the lower floor, in front of the stage, so we moved into the vacated seats right above the stage. As it turned out above 17 of those kids in front of the stage had to be carried out due to injuries sustained in the crush. John Lennon was trying to calm everybody down but it really got out of control. I think there were 17,000 people there that night. I don't know how they had the courage to come out, because security was minimal.

After the show we wandered down to the lower floor, and up to the front of the stage. Their roadie hadn't put the instuments away yet  and I was struck by the beauty of Paul's bass guitar. I'd never seen anything like it and developed a minor obsession over owning one. There is a scene in "Hard Days Night" where there is a closeup of the top end of that bass and a brand name was visable. McCartney was moving it around but it appeared to be to say "Rofler". In late 1969 I walked into a Hospe Music center in Omaha, because they had a japanese knock off of that bass in the window. It was gold colored and twice the size of McCartney's (pretty bad). I commented to the clerk that it was a poor attempt at copying the "Rofler" and he said "you mean the Hofner Beatle Bass"?     DING!!!!!

I ordered the same model that McCartney played on the Sullivan Show (like McCartney, I too am left handed). I paid $360 for it with hard case and had to wait 3 months (it had to come out of Germany, through New York City, and then to Omaha). A year later the Beatles broke up.  I still treasure it (see photo below)

Mary...How did you know I had to reset my password ? Is the NSA involved in this in any manner ? We could all be in trouble of that's the case !

Jane...I never doubted you, and what great pictures ! It's Erricson who is in the denial stage...he still won't admit to falling down stairs in a drunken stupor that resulted in that broken wrist... And how(why) did he hit you with a baseball bat ?

Larry.. I saw an autographed bass guitar of Paul's in a display of Beetle's memorabilia at Aria Resort in Vegas a couple of years ago...great-looking and VALUABLE guitar.

That looks like a beautiful place to visit Jane....

Have to admit, I didn't recognize the name...

I thought it was a misspelling of endoora...

Which is Italian for the opposite of outdoor

Jan, what is CRS?

CRS = can't remember sh*t.  In case I offend someone, I use the *

Gerald (Jerry) Thomas

The "i" wouldn't or couldn't offend anyone in this group ! And was Mary's comments historical, hysterical, or both ?

And by the way, if any of you watch HGTV and their program called House Hunters International...they were in Andorra (Janes's Andorra), on yesterday's program.

Where is this so-called "announcement" that is supposed to be posted in this group?  My e-mail said there's a new announcement.

Thanks Cissy, but the  "s" in CRS , for me, refers to stuff, not sh*t.

Jerry: Yes I saw that bass too! Valueable indeed!

Bruce: Jane seemed like a nice person, why take a bat to her?  You got that injured arm in a bar fight didn't you.
