Oh and Bill? I do have memories of those JC dances. one night in particular when a younger version of yourself was propped up against the wall bombed out of your skull...roaring in my ear about how much the dance stunk you were hilarious. Ha ha! (your welcome).

Jerry,  There is, also, an Andora.  It is in Italy.

Larry,

It was only an act!  I was drinking Dr. Pepper............ I loved those dances.

Seems as if Andorra,Andora has opened a Pandora...

Oh Diane, what a cruel (or as Dave Aitken would have said, "croool -- with 3 o's") thing to do to poor Jerry.  He's confused enough @ this stage of his life -- hoping simply to survive until retirement when his ever-patient wife can soothe him with rationed glasses of merlot.  Confusion reigns.

Hey Bruce..No "rationing" going on...I just know my limits, unlike others....And remember I needed my gps to find the Phoenix museum !

Hey Cissy, Larry, Bruce!

Remember "Band Halt; One, Two Three" ? Where I was standing, that was always followed by

"Thank God"....Orchestra was much more serene..

Ha!! Bill, gotta love Mr Crane! He is still with us, BTW :-)

Yes Bill -- isn't that why we played sports? -- to minimize the marching & wearing those uncomfortable uniforms?  (Cissy, you looked great -- your outfit must have been more comfy.)

Thanks, Bruce. But, heck I don't even recognize myself in the band officers picture. I don't even remember what as an officer, I did!! Rofl.

Oops, sorry, Jerry if I've confused you even more.  lol

The J.C. dances were a LOT of fun!  At least, the "boys" finally got up enough nerve to ask a "girl" to dance, unlike Sock Hops.  ;)

Oh, and Jerry, at least YOUR GPS FOUND Phoenix, AZ!  I went on a trip to AZ back in Nov. for a niece's wedding and when I went to leave Riverside, CA, where I was staying, the Garmin didn't even recognize that Arizona was a state!  lol  The "little lady" wound up in the glove compartment the whole rest of the way.  Luckily, I printed out a Google Map as a backup.  This was the first time driving to Arizona, all by myself, too!

Fortunately the only band I played with in High School was made of rubber. In collage it was a head band. Today its a gastric band.

Thanks, Jerry, I'll try to remember that, for next time, IF I decided to enter that state, again.  :)

Does anyone know what ever happened to Charlie Parker?  I remember when he entered our English class at Napa High (he was a late entry) and all the girls were swooning over him in his black jeans and black t-shirt.  lol

Cheryl Leplat reports that Andora is in the U.S. but may not have a store....she left no other details....the plot thickens.........

ha ha..  Andora in NE Maryland... the one in Georgia is not any larger.  Now you have a retirement choice between Maryland and Georgia.  Each might have a WalMart though... right?  Bruce can visit and report back to us.. ha ha.

Hey Bruce you should send the email that started this "Andorra" stuff to all the forum folks so the real story gets out...

What's with this Andoria thing?  I believe it is either a ship on Star-trac or a Italian boat sunk in the 50's.  I know its not spelled the same but remember iI learned to spell in Napa. Sewell

I was at a Napa High game a few years back when I realized the band still used the same whistle commands. Next game I brought one with me and, when the band was formed up in end zone, blew the "two three up down "...actually got the drum line to crank up before they realized that it wasn't from the drum major.  My son thought it was hilarous. The band started laughing too fortunately.

All I remember about the uniforms was that everybody else's fit better than mine. Huge pants! If I turned too fast they would rotate.

That was some act Bill !!.  My two favorite bands where the Regents and the Nomads..if they were playing I knew it was going to be dance worth going to.

Hey does anybody remember Mr. Covey? Sweet man.  The bank sent me out to do an appraisal on his place out on Mt. George.  His wife greated me at the door. I told her that I had him for a class once (he was also one of my gym teachers). She said that she would tell him. I started wandering around doing the interior sketch of the place and he was in the living room.  He said hello and said that he did indeed remember me. I'm thinking to myself that it was a nice thing to say but he couldn't possibly remember me 30 years later. He was quiet for awhile then he said "you ran track and were a tennis player weren't you". How do teachers do that?

Hey Bruce, how's the arm?

07/03/14 05:07 PM #395

Bill Forsythe

Larry,

You're right on about Bob Covey. He was a great guy and a friend. I had a somewhat similar experience to yours. We took our kids out to Mt. George to see his animals. It wasn't 30 years later, but he remembered me playing football for him, and Dick Vermiel, at Napa JC. He told my boys stories about me, and he even remembered my number. He is missed.

Also, upon further reflection  on your earlier comment, there may have been a little something in my Dr. Pepper at that dance. Actually, there may not have been any Dr. Pepper at all..... It's not that clear..........

And Bruce and Diane,

Wasn't Andora the mother on Bewitched?

Holy %$#&%...when a thread gets started here it goes on and on. I think Jane had the only real Andorra nailed correctly, since she has actually been there ! It may have been Samantha's mother's name, but the sunken ship was the Andria Doria ! Carry on class of '64...

07/04/14 10:42 PM #397

Vicki Ichtertz (Snyder)

Sorry, but Samantha's mother was Endora.
