Bill Forsythe, I understand how you feel.  It's been over 6 years since my husband passed.  Carol was a friend from elementary school and bluebirds.  Thinking of you.

I am so proud to announce that our classmate Dave Berry has set a new record for the high dive at Lake Tahoe!

I appologize for bumping into him, but seriously, who stands behind someone who is taking a selfie at the edge of a cliff?

Sorry for your loss too, Larry. I guess I'm getting a double whammy. my 2nd wife, Barbara, another great girl, died six weeks ago. we tend to take being happy for granted sometimes until we're not. Be well, my friend.

Bill, I'm so sorry to hear about Barbara.  That must be devastating.  I have a couple of other friends who have lost multiple partners and it isn't easy.  Don't hesitate to reach out.  You have a lot of friends and many people who care about you.  I know they are all there for you & will be happy to help you through this terrible time.  Stay well, old friend.

Hi Bill,  I am so sorry to hear about you wife passing.  I just found out today. If you plan to still come back to Napa and once you get back set up and get thing in order and if you  have the time and if you are interested in fishing.   I always have room in my boat for you.  I fish up at the lake.   I troll for trout.   I don't know if you even like to fish or not but something to think about and do on a off day.  Sometimes it is better to be out doing something different than be in the house all alone.  Again something to think about Bill.  You are always welcome bud.  Hope to see you at the get together for breakfast with the rest of the group.  If you are not interested in doing this, that is ok Bill.  Maybe something else?  Hang in there Bill.  You have more friends than you know.  Hope to see you soon.

I agree that there are other platforms for fund raising.  When some of our members heard about my ranch and wildlife habital burning down they wanted to help out by raising some money to rebuild.  But their efforts have garnered a little too much attention and I would prefer that their effort be cretailed.  It is impossible to set a value on reuniting with old friends.  So lets leave fund raising to other platforms.  I am just praying to find the time to write back to all those who have shown an intrest in re-discovering each other.

Dr. Barnacle Snug Luffy F.K.A Robby...  Bruce pointed out that I have been using the wrong acronim for "fromerly known as" for 30 years.  Hope I got it right this time.

Many of you who know Bill Grigsby may also know or remember his lovely wife, Wanda.  I'm writing with deep sadness to inform everyone that Wanda, Bill's spouse of 51 years, passed away on October 1.  She had been hospitalized since Sept. 12 with double pneumonia and never recovered.  Bill assured me that everything possible was done for her at Ohio State U. hospital.

Wanda was a native Napan who graduated, I believe, with the class of 1971.  A few years ago I visited them both at their home in Chillicothe, Ohio.  She was still the lovely, fun lady I remembered from our youth & we had a great visit.  It goes without saying that she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Raymond Guadagni asked that this information be posted about Bruce Erickson:

Hi Guys,

I am forwarding an email from a Jerry Riker a friend of Bruce Erricson.  Bruce underwent open heart surgery today at Scripps Hospital and it was successful.  It you are able to put this on our class website so that our classmates know that would be wonderful.

Ray

> Hello,

> Bruce has asked me to let you know how today’s surgery went.  He required repair/replacement to his aortic and mitral valves.  His surgeon told me that the surgery was a success. He is now in recovery in the ICU and will be on a ventilator temporarily to help with his breathing.   I will update you when I receive additional information from his nurses.

I just received a text from Bruce stating that he is still in ICU but improving. Had anybody else heard anything?

Douglas L Murray (Murray)

I talked with Bruce the day before he had surgery. The plan was 2-3 days in the ICU then another 5-6 in a recovery ward, then home. From there its just a case of how long it takes to get back in the game. He does not have a computer or tablet so he cannot access the internet until he is well enough to go to a public internet access point like the library. He has an old flip phone he can text on, but my guess is that will be limited. Maybe give him a few days before calling, or text and ask if he's up for a phone chat?

Never one for hyperbole or high drama, Bruce made this procedure sound practically like an outpatient visit! Thanks to all you guys for keeping us posted as best you can. I hope the food at Scripps is better than Kaiser's, Bruce, but even if it isn't, you'll be out of there before long.

Anybody know what happened to Harry Olsen?  He was my dear friend but I lost track of him after college

Bruce Erricson

Hi Everyone.  I just wish to express my thanks & appreciation to all of you who took the time & effort to wish me well. All the texts, cards, calls, e-mails, postings and other kindnesses were kind of overwhelming.  But believe me, to an old goat who lives alone, each and every contact was greatly appreciated and meaningful.  I've been home for over three weeks and seem to be doing quite well.  They've even let me get behind the wheel again (watch out!).  I've just started a cardiac exercise program and with luck, I may be able to start playing softball again in a few months.

I had no idea how many of you had been through similar experiences, all with good results.  However, you seem to be all men.  Is this another gender based malady?

I wish to especially thank Glen Dibler, Ray Guidagni, Sandy Swearingen & her husband Dave, Doug Murray & my San Diego friend, Jerry Riker for keeping people informed.  This made it possible to keep those who wished to know about my status informed without requiring anyone to be overburdened with questions and the like.

Again, I am sincerely grateful for all your kind words and wishes.  I wish everyone from the Class of "64 a wonderful Holiday Season and New Year.  I hope to see you @ the decade reunion next Fall if not before.

With gratitude and sincere thanks,

Bruce Erricson
