Wally and I played tennis together on the JC tennis team. He was a great guy and a great teammate. He was very caring and giving, as those who knew him better than I will attest. I understand that he went on a mission for his church after JC and our paths didn't cross again. As with the others listed here, he left us far too soon.
I first met Wally when we played for the Napa High golf team together. Later we played together on the JC Tennis team. Wally was also a valueable member of the JC basketball team. He was a pretty great athelete, and more than a little mischeivious. He would get really quiet when you were speaking to him, and pause before replying...giving his response considerable thought. He lived with his Mom and I liked how respectfull he was of her. I didn't know he was a member of Mormon Church until he announced that he was going on his mission for two years. When he returned we played tennis quite often, but then he disappeared again soon after. I saw him at several reunions and found out that he was a teacher and then the princpal at a high school in Nevada near the Tahoe area. Again, a very thoughtfull guy with a broad smile. I miss him.
Knew Wally since 4th grade. Really nice guy, and, as with Dave and Larry, I just lost track of him. I was not aware of his passing, and I am sorry.. RIP my friend
Like Bill Forsythe, I was close to Wally through Sliverador and Napa High, but lost track after JC. Fond memoiries of basketball, hunting and fishing, and just hanging out. I knew of his passing way back. Gone way too early.
