SCOTT BOWLING

Since graduation, I received an accounting degree from LSU and worked with Arthur Andersen & Co. CPA's, in New Orleans until 1975. I moved back to Louisville and worked for the First National Bank for a short period before moving to Birmingham, AL to work with AmSouth Bank until 1985. A short, horrible two years was spent in Lafayette Louisiana as the economy imploded due to the oil price collapse. Then on to San Antonio to work for USAA, a large financial services company that caters to the military. I worked there for 15 years retiring in October, 2002. I have done some consulting since then but am retired now and enjoy life in the country with Joyce and our Labrador retrievers, Sophie & Charlie. I play golf a couple of times a week and tennis about once a week as bad knees have limited my court time. As far as I know, I am in good health and I thank the good Lord for that blessing. I had my right hip replaced in August 2012 and am fully recovered. I wish I would have had the operation sooner! I'm enjoyed seeing many of my 'mates at the 50th reunion this past August.

I have a lot of memories. I guess being the freshman class twice was interesting. Practicing freshman basketball at 5:00 in the evening and then trying to get home to Silver Hills was always a nice challenge. The two best memories were being elected Senior Class President on a write in ballot and our baseball team going 21-1 our senior year. There were a lot of interesting things outside of school as well such as our water balloon tricks and purse tricks but they are better off left alone.
