Worked for US Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (Dayton, Ohio) as an Aerospace Engineer right after college at Newark College of Engineering (1968) until retirement in Jan 2001.

Pastoral Associate/Secretary at Queen of Apostles Catholic Community, a small parish of (approx) 210 families. Our website is www.qac-ohio.org.

I have been involved with the Annual Blessing of the Bikes in Dayton, Ohio since 2006 - one of the largest functions of its kind in the United States. I am the 'Blessor Coordinator' for the function, coordinating the efforts of a priest Presider and a deacon team for the event. The bikers are very respectful of the prayer service before the blessing and are very gracious to all the clergy who participate.

The 2015 Blessing of the Bikes (May 17, 2015) was (again) at an unofficial count of 10,000 motorcycles. The organizers are rapidly outgrowing the space at the University of Dayton and are now on the hunt for a larger space to accommodate all the bikes. What a GREAT day!!

Plan are to (eventually) move the event to Wright Patterson Air Force Base. I hope the organizers are successful - it would be many years before they could outgrow that space.

All monies raised go to helping children and military veterans. I am very proud to be a part of it.

Colleges Attended

Newark College of Engineering (1964-68) - BSME

Hi, All - asking prayers from any of you reading this message. It has been an especially hard spring/summer for me. Last January (2018) I weighed 167 pounds. I began having a severe weight loss problem in last Nov 2018 - losing weight at about 5 pounds/week. Doctors here put me through many tests and all results came back normal. By late May 2019, I was down to 113 pounds and decided to take a trip to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Doctors there found I had a bacterial infection in my intestine which we are treating with antibiotics. May take a year to get back to normal - weight gain is very slow, but somewhat steady.

I returned home from the Mayo Clinic on May 25, 2019 and my house was hit by a tornado on May 27th (you may have seen the National news about the number of tornadoes that struck our area in Ohio on that night). I came out of that unscathed - though I was in my house - and the following morning, I was without power for the next 4 weeks due to the damage. Thank God I had temporary shelter from friends for that time.

On July 6, 2019, I was on my way to a wedding and a woman who was driving on the wrong side of the road going in the wrong direction sideswiped my car causing $7000+ worth of damage...my car is in the shop and it may be a month or so before I get it back.

I have only just this past week (finally) had a new roof put on my house, and now I am waiting for gutters and siding to go up. Next would be to replace the roof on my patio enclosure. I expect my 'out of pocket' - expenses after insurance reimbursements - to be about $20K.

But my prayer request is a knockout of my bacterial infection return to good health. I can live with the other problems.

Thanks -
Greg

This past weekend was amazing for me. On August 10, 1968, I was a groomsman in my college buddy's wedding. He and his wife moved to Dayton, OH (Wright Patterson Air Force Base) since he was in the Air Force. After his tour of duty, he remained here and as a civilian engineer following and retired here a few years ago.

It was because of his invitation that I got a job at Wright Patt (also 1968) and spent my entire career working as a civilian on the base as well.

Last year, his daughter called me and asked if I would preside at her wedding in my church (Queen of Apostles). It was special (and electrifying) for me to perform the ceremony and give the homily for Michelle and Beau (her now husband)...48 years after her parents were married.

It was a WOW day (August 27, 2016)!!!

This was in my younger days a few years back (2005) when I didn't need any artificial padding to portray Jolly 'Old St Nick.'
