Robert Brown

Robert Bob Stephen Brown passed away at home on March 27, 2015 with his family by his side. He was a wonderful husband to Catherine Brown, father to Lisa Brown-Hooper and grandfather to RJ and Alex Hooper all of Marblehead and a wonderful mentor to their cousin, Jared McAvoy. Bob grew up in Newton and was the son of the late Sarah and Sidney Brown. He graduated from Newton High School and obtained his Bachelors degree from Northeastern University. He also obtained an MBA from Babson College. In his later years, he graduated from Salem State University with his Masters of Science in Teaching. Even though he had several jobs earlier in his career, his last ten years of teaching Tech Ed at Collins Middle School in Salem was his favorite. Bob was also a member of the BSA Owners Club, The Vintage Sport Club of America, the Ship Model Club of the USS Constitution and a member of the brotherhood of Temple Emanu -El. Bob will be remembered for his great wit, daily jokes and willingness to assist anyone in need. He will be remembered as a very fun loving, sweet and thoughtful man. He cared deeply for his family, friends and community. He will be missed terribly. In addition to his wife, daughter and grandchildren, he leaves his brother, Kenneth Brown of DelRay Beach Florida, and cousins, Victor and Joy Darish and their children Lori and Gregg Darish. He had many true friends and neighbors who assisted him and his family through his final journey. All of his family and friends want to thank Associated Home Care and Care Dimensions for their skilled and compassionate care. His Memorial Service will be held at Temple Emanu-El, 393 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10 AM. Interment at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
