We lost a real medical talent at a young age. Kalman (Kal) Sinofsky, Dr. Kal as we called him, was a very quiet individual during our Newton years. We were quite opposites. Me, a sports nut, undisciplined; he very studious, serious. We walked to school together every day during our Cabot, Day and High School years. He was my best man at my wedding. He became a plastic surgeon with an office in Worcester. His skills helped so many in such a short time. Newton is not the same without Dr. Kal.
I remember when we were in 4th grade at Cabot School, we had to paint Superman using watercolors. While everyone else's was a mess, Kal's was perfect. I guess those skills were valuable in his career as a plastic surgeon.
Kal was a real friend to me during HS. He was always interested in Science and I remember his dad worked at Polaroid. I always thought he would go into engineering. Lost track of him after HS. I am so sorry to hear of his death. He was a gentle soul and must have been such a good doctor.
Kal was part of the Adams House group. He as the resident student and as everyone has already suggested he was as genttle and humble a person as you could find in high school. He is another treasure that was placed before me and I failed to benefit from it. Kal I imagine you were a very special doctor because you were a very special person. As you can see you are missed.
