With Memorial Day arriving it makes me remember those great parades in the Village of North Syracuse.

Remember those Lion's Day parades?

We would go up to Main Street early and set up chairs and sit for hours watching all the floats and bands.

I remember that well--Was so much fun with all the Miss North Syracuse contestants riding on the backs os convertibles/

I was in the marching band for all those parades, giving us musicians and color guard a different perspective, one that was more work than play. It was fun and exciting nonetheless. Mr. Codner's insistence on excellence made us perform at our best. Winning the crowd's applause was the reward. The Miss North Syracuse contestants added lots of beauty to the event, so much so that I married one (Miss McDonalds)! I nominated her while working at McDonalds there on Rte. 11 (working for the Panos brothers). The used car lot next door provided the convertible used in the parade, and Chuck Hubbard was the driver.

Mr. LaLonde, the Business/Accounting teacher, passed away recently.  I remember him as a really nice guy. Here is a link to his obit.

I've added a photo of the mini lacrosse reunion with Pat and Sam. (However I couldn't figure out how to include it with this post. It's only part of my profile.) During the course of the evening we recalled Pat's epic 1st & only coast to coast score. However none of us could remember who got the assist on that perfectly executed give & go. Does anyone want to take credit?!

You guys look great!

Wonder if you could run the length of the field now?

What happened to the SU team?

Same here in Albany! They lost as well!

My son still plays lax in his 40's. Lot less running he says. Lol!

My guess is Bill LaRonde will take credit for that assist, Pat.

Well Mrs. Borthick, then we would call the second runner up absolutely AWESOME!

I've been following the recent thread about good times ands good places. John (Wilcox) and I relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2015. We are currently in Upstate NY, on Rt 12, traveling from New Hartford home to FBurg. All former Jr. High and High School Marching Band members will remember with pride, Sherburne!

Stretched across the street was the very faded sign, SHERBURNE FESTIVAL OF BANDS -FIRST SATURDAY IN JUNE. Brought back great, great memories.

Thinking of parades and the coming holiday - I remember as a little girl marching down Rt 11 in Cicero wearing a two sided placard stating "MY MOTHER WAS A WAAC"  in a Memorial Day parade -  which was true - one of those interesting WWII ladies --  and the wretched cub scouts behind me hollaring  "my mother was wacky."   OOOh that made me mad.  And like Bruce and Deb, I should have know that I'd be in the Golden Eagles later!  Yowza - that's a while ago.

During my current stay in Liverpool my travels led me by NSCHS where I stunned upon the new Full Boar brewery. Lots of nice people & some tasty beverages too. Again I posted 2 photos but they don't show up here, only in my profile. All y'all locals should check it out.

I'd like to take credit for the assist on Pat's goal but I can't . I do remember jumping after he scored! It was great to have a fellow defenseman put one in!
