Gary Ritzman

After O'Dowd went on to USF where I graduated with a business degree and an ROTC Army commission in 1964. Army engineer posts in Virginia, Kentucky and Okinawa. Married Patricia Marie Rossie in San Francisco in 1965 after she graduated from Saint Joseph's Nursing College in San Francisco. After the Army I joined my father's shoe and clothing store on Lakeshore Ave in Oakland for two years. Then joined Sea-Land Service, Inc. Sea-Land had ships that carried containers. Worked in Oakland, Seattle, Kansas City, Montreal, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Long Beach, Toronto, Taipei, New Jersey, Chicago and Seattle. Retired from Sea-Land in Seattle in 2001 after 32 years with the firm. We spend summers in the great Pacific Northwest cruising aboard our forty-foot trawler "Dharma." In 2005 we spent three months and got all the way to Alaska (the same trip many of you have made in a week).
