Hey, you guys! Looking forward to hearing from some of you before the 50th reunion! 50 years?? Have we really been out that long?? Certainly none of us are THAT old!! Seems like just yesterday we were all body surfing down in Long Beach!! Hope everyone is happy and healthy!!

This is incredible!  50 years?   Wow!

It has been fantastic re-connecting with so many classmates.  Amazing how easily we have renewed old friendships after all this time.  Sad to see so many Sailors in the "In Memory" section.  That's all the more reason to join in the fun and attend this 50th Reunion Bash.

Hope to see you all there, and have our separate paths meet once again.

Les

I am really excited about the upcoming Reunion.  Can't believe it is 50 years...seems like 10!  If everyone reaches out to one or two people from the "Missing" list we can get a larger number of people reconnected.

I remember cutting school in Junior High with Charlie Quattrochi.  We hid behind buildings on Long Beach road because we were convinced there were Truant Officers looking for us.  Anyway we made it to Long Beach, had a blast, hitchhiked home (remember when you could do that) and thought we were all clear.  EXCEPT Charlie's Mom picked up his pants and sand poured out of the cuffs...we were so busted!!!

It has been wonderful to catch up with so many old friends. I love reading about your accomplishments.

Because of this wonderful site we will not be strangers when we finally meet up next September.

You are all bringing back the most wonderful memories:-)

Fran Hemendinger (Costigan)

Hello!

It is really hard to believe the number 50! It's nice to see so many of us here. I really regret that I won't be attending but when I unexpectedly was free on the date, no tix were available.  I'm counting on friends, like Ann Mary to fill me in.  Anyone wanting to me in touch, please use my personal email. Fran@FranCostigan.com instead of sending messages here. It's just easier. Who's in NYC?

Take care,

Fram

To all my classmates who are attending the 50th reunion and the many who are not, I want to wish you all good health and happiness now and for the future. While we all have lost a classmate we knew, and way too young, memories of those high school years still resonate , but are beginning to fade as time goes by.  I hope those of you who made the journey for the reunion have a blast, and those who didn't raise a glass to us all for a continued great life ahead!

My warmest regards to the entire class of 1963,

Al Oliver

Rose Marie Guariglia (Crouse)

Thank you, to all my classmates, both organizers and participants, who made our reunion such a wonderful, moving, and joyful experience!  I now understand  that I was part of something so much bigger than myself and that I am blessed to have begun my journey into adulthood at OHS with such special young men and women.  They say that "hindsight is 20/20" and that validation and clarity was everpresent last night at Kaseys!  We are one with each other, and one with our creator.  As we continue this journey, I wish each and every sailor joy and peace in everything that comes next!!!

Love,

Rose Marie

What a wonderful evening!  I loved being with old/new friends, and will admit that at times I felt overwhelmed by all the "love I the air"!  Terry, Les and Donna--the hours you spent on each detail made our 50th reunion a grand and unforgettable event.  I felt such joy reminiscing, as well as making future plans with dear friends.

The reunion far exceeded my expectations.  Much love, Joan(ie).

Linda Stern (Katt)

Thank you so much to the reunion committee for all their efforts in organizing this weekend. What a great success! From the moment of arrival to the last good-bye hugs, there was an overwhelming feeling of genuine enthusiasm and warmth. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to reminisce and reconnect. We may have traveled in different directions, but our roots will always include our years at OHS. It was obvious that those special feelings and experiences have lasted 50 years. I feel very fortunate that my husband, Don, and I could be part of  this memorable occasion.                                   Love, Linda

It was so great to see everyone and discuss the fun Oceanside days. We had a great time!!

It seems like we graduated only a few years ago.  We need to continue to communicate and find other ways to get together.

I just wanted to thank all the organizing and planning committee for a job well done. It was such a wonderful evening and the special treatment my Mom was given is something she will never forget.  She has been calling her friends and telling them all about it! It was a great party--when is the next one?

Thank you reunion committee for all your hardwork. The evening was wonderful. It far surpassed my expectations. Reconnecting with so many old friends reminded me what a special graduating class we were. I still have a smile on my face from the evening.

Sailors,

What a fabulous weekend!  Enjoyed every minute of the (incredibly well ) organized reunion events and the informal get-togethers in the hotel lobby and parking lot.  Thanks to the committee for putting all of this together.  It wouldn't have happened without all of your efforts.

So enjoyed seeing (and remembering!) classmates from OHS '63 along with their mates.  And hoping we'll see one another again in the next few years

It was great to roll back the years and be young again for one night.  How great to see everyone.  I am sure all who attended join me in extending our heartfelt gratitude for the amazing job Terry did with the web site, which contributed in a major way to the excitement and anticipation leading up to the event itself.  And, of course, thanks to all those who worked so hard so that the rest of us could just show up and enjoy the night.  And did we enjoy the night.  Here's to the next one.

Ann Mary sent photos to me, which was the next best thing to being there! I've heard from a few OHS friends and hope to meet. Anyone in NYC or Brooklyn or near... let me know. Let's do a get together.

Take care

Fran

I thank all of you who travelled near and far to attend this very special weekend. It was your warmth and enthusiasm that made this weekend magical. For me it was about  reconnecting with friends I haven't seen in a very long time and realizing I could still be friends with them today. I loved being 17 again, if only for a short time! I'm looking forward to looking at the pictures you all will be posting, and of course the video as soon as it's available.
