If it weren't for Gary and Ferron and a couple of others, I would think my posts simply go to the ether, to be gone forever.  It would be so nice to have some dialog amongst our classmates. I know most all of you have a life's wealth of experiences, which if shared would be so nice and appreciated by all of us -- eh what?

Look familiar?   I insisted on candles for my 69th birthday ( not just one big candle in the center of the cake).

There was so much wax on the cake, and my son was standing by with a fire extinguisher.

Now, Jane just puts the number candles on the cake.  LOL

Gary Acker

Yeah Dan, I quit putting candles on the cake because there wasn't enough room.

I'm becoming increasingly concerned about some of our classmates; Steve hasn't responded to a few questions, nor made any comments re his 'Hebrew Gold'.  Tod, has been silent as well; Clara your most recent contributions were wonderful, where are you?  We haven't heard from Mike Lippy for a long time.  It would be nice to hear from Hal, Thom, Ruthie Young-Adams, Ruth Austed.  I sincerely hope and pray ill health isn't the reason.

I would love to hear from more of you.  How is Pam Profaizer's husband doing? Martie Peck/Bond, how are you doing? Are you still living in Utah?  Jack Durrant, where are you and how are you doing?  Dale Youngman, Dale Thompson, Dan James, Let's hear from you.  Parry let's hear more from you.

There are so many of you who have entries in your profile, it would be great for all of us to hear about some the highlights in your lives.

Thanks for letting us know, Gary.  I'll be praying for your speedy recovery.  I'm a firm believer in prayer -- it works, I can attest to that.

I just received a nice note from Val Lasko, via email.  It is great to hear from Val, and if any of our other classmates would feel more comfortable using email to communicate, I'll be thrilled to hear from you. Perhaps to make it a bit easier my email is dhutch12337@yahoo.com.  FYI, the 12337 was my post office box number in La Paz, Bolivia.

Thought this was pretty good.  Another email from my Jewish friend in Bolivia

My tolerance for idiots is extremely low these days. I used to have some immunity built up, but obviously there's a new strain out there.

I haven't gotten anything done today. I've been in the Produce Department trying to open this stupid plastic bag.

Clara Profaizer (Taylor)

Hey Dan, we can always count on you to keep the conversations going. I am still around, and getting rounder L O L. But I just haven't been getting online lately. I am trying to get a few of the "Spring" things done around here. In your previous posting, you mentioned a few things. Pam's husband passed away about 2+ years ago. Martie is still in Utah and is on our reunion/80th birthday celebration committee. I was sorry to hear about Gary Acker's low sodium issue. Having low sodium is a bit serious and I believe a VA doctor told my ex-husband it was the cause of a pre-stroke issue that he had and that It was possibly caused from drinking too much water, if you can believe that.

Daniel Hutchinson

Thank you Clara,  I'm sorry to hear of Pam's husband.

Gary, I sure hope you can get the low sodium taken care of..  Speaking of strokes, how are you doing, Tod?
I wouldn't have thought too much water would cause that.

Very interesting Clara, thanks again.

I've often wondered what the derivation is for the name Profaizer.  Looking into it some, I see tons of Profaizers from Trento, Italy.  The Italian heritage explains the beauty of Clara and Pam.

I recall when I spent a month in Venice in 1987.  There was a declaration,'the most beautiful women in the world were the Italian women'.  So that explains my foregoing comment.

I believe I talked about going to Venice to provide the "Presidential Daily Brief" (PDB) to President Reagan during his visit to Venice for a G-7 Economic summit.  I had to prepare eight copies for the cabinet members who accompanied Reagan. That was an interesting trip, I stayed an entire month, for a four day visit by the President and his party.  I want to thank all of you tax payers for allowing me to stay in a hotel which in 1987, cost 10,500 dollars.  I'll bet its twice that today.

Pete Belliston

At that price did you just stay in the hotel or buy it?

I had a rather lengthy response, Pete, just finished typing about a whole page, hit a wrong button on my laptop, and lost it.  this is about the third time I've done that.  Jane said, you should type those things on you big PC, in Word, to prevent the loss.  Natually my wife is right AGAIN!   LOL

A timely post from my Jewish friend in Bolivia:

"A Jewish man leaving a convenience store with his coffee when he noticed a most unusual Italian funeral procession  approaching the nearby cemetery.

A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one.

Behind the second hearse was a solitary Italian man walking a dog on a leash.

Behind him, a short distance back, were about 300 men walking in single file.

The Jewish man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the Italian man walking the dog and said:

"I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen an Italian funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"

"My wife's."...    ''What happened to her?"

"She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her."

He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse"

"My mother-in-law. She came to help my wife and the dog turned on her and killed her also."

A very poignant and touching moment of Jewish and Italian brotherhood and silence passed between the two men.

The Jewish man then asked, "Can I borrow the dog?"

The Italian man replied , "Get in line.""

I don't believe I've heard that one before Dan. Thanks for the smile!

Dan Hutchison, you're the greatest! We all love your posts and I mean that sincerely ! I was getting a haircut from Carol Benson Daz the other day and mentioned our website,She said she avoids the computer as much as possible but I think I may have convinced her to change her ways. BTW, the lady is fun to visit with, highly opinionated and doesn't mind sharing! She also is a great hair stylist, my wife loves the way she cuts her's and Sue is fussy. - Acker, kick up the salt man. I had the same deficiency once and it really can cause some serious problems. Our bodies are an extremely complicated and complex chemistry set, and certain elements, even in tiny amounts as they are, can cause serious problems if they get out of whack! Too much or too little and we're in trouble. -  Dan, 'Hebrew Gold' received a tremendous vote of confidence in San Francisco at a book convention held there last month. I was given 30 minutes to speak to a large audiance of authors, and publishers and was surprised that even though many were christian, and touting christian based titles, not a single person in attendence had ever heard of the subject of Chiasmus. Not one! I used a colorful PowerPoint presentation throughout my talk and it was video-taped and is now on You tube. Just type in or say author Steven D. Nielsen at Readers Magnet, or just say my name and a few things come up.  Thanks so much for asking about it! - Once again, Dan Gary, Pam, Pete, Karen, Ferron, Tod, David, Ken, Sherry, Val etc.etc. and everyone who visits this site...our 1962 senior class was filled with some very special people. Choice friends, and you could feel it at our last reunion. -- Val Lasko, you have a very kind and generous heart and that's all I'm gonna' say about that. You're one neat guy. Furthermore, I can say the same thing about Dale Youngman, Dan James, Linda and Mike Liptrot, Bonnie and Ken Frew, Ruthie Austead, Joy Fields and Dave Hansen. Great folks, all right up there with our Dan Hutchison... I hope to see them and everyone else at the 80th Birthday celebration in September of 2024. I hear, that the committee is going to meet next month so as to keep things going!!

Clara, sorry I'm so long getting back with you and my low sodium. It's been a hassle and if it wasn't for my daughters making me go to the ER to find out. I spent a week in the hospital and that's not fun. Be safe

We've had a lot of rain this past couple of weeks, and the emergence of mosquitoes and flies are straight out of the 10 plagues of Egypt.
