Dan, the ONLY way the 80th Birthday Party Celebration could have been better is IF you, as well as others, could have been there. We had a total of 91 and 62 of them were our very own classmates.
The band played some softer mingling music at first; and after dinner, they got a little bit more boisterous. BUT then so did some of us in the crowd. Maybe some thought it was a bit too loud, because a few left early. Others put up with it; they just needed to get up close and personal to talk.
A few classmates went home a little bit richer after their names were drawn for the presents that were given out. Val Lasko was lucky and got 2 $2 bills that could eventually be worth quite a good sum. Carol Sorenson Plowman took home the BIGGEST present.
The food was good, and I only know this because I heard no complaints. But then, I was also told that the Salmon was about the best that she had ever eaten.
When it was time to light the candles, all of the classmates left were told to make their own personal wish. Mine was that we ALL STAY HEALTHY and be able to attend the 65th Reunion in 2027.
It was a HUGE success by all accounts. The best get-together ever.
