After graduation from Tech, I began attending Omaha University (Now UNO), and graduated from there with a BS in Secondary Education and a double major in Library Science and Speech Communication. Two weeks after graduating, I accepted a position with the Omaha Public Library as an Adult Services Librarian at the Washington Branch Library. I went on to become the Branch Manager in 1974. During my 34 year career with the Omaha Library System, I also served as Public Relations Librarian for the system, and Branch Manager at Kellom. Sorenson, and Benson Branches. In 1977 and 1981, I took a little time off the have my two girls. I went back to work after a short stay at home, and was blessed to retire from the Omaha Library in 2002. I was married to my "high school sweetheart", Warren Green for 19 years, and have been married to my current husband, Tom McDougle for 21 years. I am a member of the Zion Baptist Church where I serve in many capacities. I also belong to several community organizations volunteering my time and service to others. During the years, I have also been a Mentor to several young people as well as a Big Sister. I have an active and wonderfully blessed life, and thank God daily for all that he has done for me and my family. I count it all JOY!

I actually started high school at North High, but after 2 days, transferred to Tech for two reasons: 1) My boyfriend attended Tech, and 2) I had heard that if you really worked hard, you could graduate in three years instead of four. My best friend, Diana Jamerson and I decided to transfer to Tech, and we immediately began our quest to graduate in three years. In 1965, we achieved our goal and instead of graduating with our original class of 1966, we graduated in 1965! Because of this, we were a part of two classes and have been long time friends with people in both classes. It was quite an achievement at that time, and we were really proud of ourselves. Diana and I still remain the best of friends.

What spare time?? Over the years, I have enjoyed reading, bowling, travelling, and singing.

My husband loved to drive, and early in our marriage we set a goal to spend the night in every state. We were able to make it to every state but 12. We have also been on 6 cruises which include Nova Scotia, the Mexican Riviera, The Bahamas, Bermuda, and twice to Jamaica.

My best memories from Tech are about the camaraderie and cohesiveness of the students. During those wonderful high school years, many of us developed friendships that have lasted 50 or more years. I vividly remember the fun we had attending the various sports events and the parties and other activities afterwards. Tech had a diverse group of students--most of whom genuinely liked each other. We had it all--those who excelled academically, those who excelled athletically, and those somewhere in between. I will never forget the "Tech High Years" because once a Trojan, always a Trojan!
