Connie,
Congratulations to your husband and you (it's a family situation). I hope that he did some planing, such as hobbies, etc. Rest and relaxation time is available, but keeping busy is important. Retirement can make a person reflect upon their life and can make them feel that they are getting old. Knowing that there is a lot more to do and a lot of living to do can help keep a person younger than they are. Exercise is important too.

Have a good time. I retired (but still work, take classes, fish, surf, set goals...) and enjoy looking forward to my wife come home from work.

Take care.

Mark

Mark, I hope your wife gave you a new dustmop and apron too.

Is anyone interested in an outing at Newport Dunes "Movies at the Beach"? The movies are on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. They show dated PG movies, but it is kind of fun sitting by the water freezing your buns off (unless you are next to the bon fire, then you are freezing one side off and roasting the other). You can roast marshmallows and dodge kids or roast kids and dodge marshmallows, your preference. The cost is $12.00 for parking. We could do like we did when we went to Paramount Drive-In. Cram the car full of kids to save money. I am not hiding in the trunk this time though.

That's right, Pat. Gotta keep the retired ones busy. In fact, Denny is cleaning the windows at this very moment. (He and his dad are leaving next week on a fishing trip -- must get his chores done before he goes!)

Answer to All Night Party movie --- I think it was Sidney Poiter -- ??? A Raisin in the Sun...

Mark Overstreet

Marcia,

Close. It was Sidney Poitier, but if my memory has not faltered, it was "Patch of Blue". I really liked the movie, but I thought that it was a bit of a downer for an all night party.
Pat. I bought myself a dust pan, mop, and all the sundries that keeps me busy (one day a week) until the wife gets home. I bought myself a couple of cookbooks too. So far, three days a week of cooking (via the food channel) is interesting.

Sandra Harris (Lint)

Hi guys! No it wasn't A Raisin in the Sun, but Sidney was in it along with Elizabeth Hartman, but I can't remember the title. I think she played a blind girl. I was too busy talking to the guy next to me. Carol, you have crops on Facebook? I'm confused! I have crops here in Arizona, myself. I'm known for raising "sun-dried" tomatoes. You get rid of one of the steps that way! Movies at the beach!? I'll come, only if I can sit in the back seat like the old days!

Hello everyone! Have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Roland and I will not be going to Lake Havasu as planned.
:[ :( :[ :( :[ :( :[ :(
I canceled our reservation today. Remember me talking about his bad knee? Well know with the bad knee he has done something to his back most likely because of the knee, or I don't know. I had him in the hospital on Sunday and at the doctors office on Monday. He can barely walk or move around, let alone try to get to the bathroom. Our grandson Nicholas is here with him during the day while I am at work. Oops he fell out of bed today as he can't manage to move to good. I am really upset with Kaiser, all they want to do his give him pain medication that does not work! The strongest pain meds have no effect on him. The shots in the knee did not work. I was off from work Monday, Kaiser gave him pain patches - did not work! I sent a note to Roland's doctor at Kaiser. I would like them to put him in the hospital to help him with the pain and figure out what the problem is with his back/knee. He is going to fall and get hurt. As many of you know who were at my house, you have to climb stairs pretty much wherever you go. You know it's hard to see someone that you love go through so much pain. Mind you, Roland can take a lot of pain. I asked him on a scale of 1 to 10 what was the pain like, Roland said it was a 20.

Took my Notary test yesterday so that I can continue to notarize documents for teachers/etc. Went to work today and tomorrow, but I will be off work Friday and all next week.

Hey pirates, thanks for listening. I just needed to talk.

Thanks,

Lorene

Sandy ---

Darn, thought I was right but now that you mention the blind girl that does sound familiar. I just "googled" and it was "A Patch of Blue."

Sandi, we are doing farm town on face book. planting and harvesting crops. That's where I've been lately. Some of us are addicted to that now. Check it out.

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Pat I send you stuff all the time I have ask to be your neighbor....Let me go back and see what we can do

Phyllis Willhite

You just plant crops, grapes probably first. They only take 4 hours to grow. Then don't harvest yourself, hire someone else to harvest for you at the marketplace or one of your neighbors. You get 25% more for your crops if someone else harvests them for you. The more you plant and harvest the more coin you earn and the higher experience level you get to. Then you move to the next level. You buy farm houses, barns, fences, silos. flowers, animals. and you keep on expanding, at higher levels, you buy more land. It's fun, it's addicting.

Facebook People:

I just joined so I need a little coaching. I'm usually pretty savvy with electronics and websites but it seems a bit daunting. Anything special I need to know to really enjoy the experience?

Molly

PS: The farm thing sounds like fun.

PPS: Oh yeah - Happy 4th of July everyone!

Hey Facebook People:

Just so you know, I have not been able to respond to anyone since Saturday when my monitor died. Getting a new one today so should be up and running again by tomorrow.

Hey, how the heck do I get started on the Farm? I tried plowing then got stuck and couldn't get out of it! Oi!

Molly

PS: Everyone/anyone is welcome to come to Seal Beach with us anytime - doesn't have to be a special occasion. Betty and I usually go about once a month (Sunday morning) for breakfast, so just give a holler and meet us at O'Malley's. BUT, when Lynne comes to town it will be a whopper of a shindig and I know you will all want to attend; I'm sure the dates will be on this forum well ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

Yep, addicted to Farm Town. Thanks Phyllis, Thanks Carol. LOL Come on over everyone. Molly I agree it was very confusing at first. Come on over and either Carol or I or any one of us can come onto your farm with you and give you some coaching. Sandi Lint come on over too. I think you will love it. We can interact with each other on the same farm if we want to.

Happy birthday Janice. I liked the photo of you and Brenda also.

Oh and Lynne, you crack me up. I love the photo of your "house". What are you asking for it?

Pat

Lynne, pick that building up and put it in So Cal, you could get 300k for it.

I was looking at my yearbook on the page with the cord wearers. Out of 21 people 4 are dead, that is 20%. It proves it doesn't pay to work hard or be smart. I'm "living" proof.
