You guys, you know sometimes it really stinks living so darn far away. I miss you all and miss out on all the fun, especially with so many of you who are really close special friends. :(

My husband is working out of town AGAIN, but I am glad he is working. Anyone is lucky to have a job in there times. I just hate being apart. There is a chance in three weeks that he may be moving to a job at the Spokane Airport, keeping out fingers crossed as he would then be able to come home every night.

Going to put our house on the market, as it looks as if he will be doing this working out of town with the Union until he retires in three years.

With things the way there are with my folks, it makes more sense for me to just hang out with my dad and help him out at the house there.

Hope you are all doing well, please keep Dorothy Smaller in your thoughts and prayers. She is really having a rough time with her husbands disease progressing more and more each day. It's a rough road to travel, especially all alone where they are. She is one tough woman I'll tell you that.

Everyone take care.
Love,
Lynne

OK there you go again Lynn putting your "OUT" House on the market...unless it is large with all the modern conveniences like a flushing toilet you may have to wait for the right buyer to come along. Plus the smell issue would need to be taken care of too!!! LOL

Man am I ever glad I got that Long Term Health Care Insurance, I'm not only repeating myself, I am repeating the same dumb mistakes. Glad you have such a good sense of humor about it.

SO, what's everyone been up too? Any big travel plans for summer vacations?

Vacation plans for this summer....I am sitting in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin melting as I write. My husband is from here and we came back for his Aunt and Uncles 50th Anniversary. It is so beautiful and green back here but as Dennis points out there is a reason it is so green (it rains alot during the summer and is very humid). Other than the humidity we are having a great time.

Marianna, Darla & Phyllis
Thank you very much for the birthday wishes. Had a really good day even though I worked. Stu is a real sweetie and surprised me with a birthday cake at work. It's so good to have good bosses that were in on it.

Marianna see you & Stan on Saturday and watch out I think Stu has made up his own rules to the card game.

Have a great week everyone and thank you again.

Some plans for the summer hum let me think? I just made reservations for Havasu Landing July 5 to 10. We will be staying in site 201. Don't know if we are taking the boat this time but we might take the wave runners. It's hard to launch anything with the motorhome. It will be just Roland and I as everyone has to work. Maybe the hot sun will do his knee some good, I am hoping. Doctors still are not doing anything but giving him pills, they gave him a couple of shots, one was supposed to work but it didn't, so we will see what the docs say on Monday. He is in so much pain 24/7. I hope the heat helps the arthritis in the knee, one side of the knee is good, the other side is not good.

So if anyone is out the Havasu Landing Way, stop by to see us in space 201.

Take care,

Lorene

Lorene,
My brother Denny and Marilyn will be there that week end, I will tell them where you will be. There are right in Parker but they always launch their boat in Havasu. Marilyn's family is coming up so there will be a big group, my brother says he is going to find a beach in the boat and sleep on it. He hates all the crowds....lol

I hope and pray that my buddy Roland's knee will feel better soon.

Can't wait to see you both again.
Love you
Lynne

Great Lynne, Havasu Landing is at the other end of Lake Havasu across from the London Bridge. There is a ferry that takes people from one side to the other since Havasu Landing has a Casino and restuarant. We will arrive Sunday morning (5th) and depart Friday (10th) We will be in space 201.

Hi Pat,
Thank you very much. It was a fun one at work then had to go home to rest up. I was in the field this morning so had to make sure I was wide awake. We have to do at least 4 field projects every year, which means hard hats, boots and jeans and it is pretty warm out there. I work in the construction department for Cox Communications and it's a department requirement for field work. Was glad to get back in the office.

Hope you have a great week.

Peggy

Hey Guys,
How do you get to the photos of those of you going down the slide at the Golden Nugget? I'd love to see those, my grandsons really liked it.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Someone told me today, heck you don't ever need to go on vacation you have it right here in your front yard at the lake house. Isn't it amazing how sometimes it takes a person saying something like that to you to make you open your own eyes. They are so right.

Miss you all and hope whatever you do that you have a safe and happy fun filled summer.

Lynne

Lynne, does this mean you are keeping the out house?

Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing the "OUT HOUSE" I bet it is real cute inside... :)

Lynne,
Some of the classmates took photos of those going down the slide at The Nugget and may have posted them to their photo sites. The ones that I have will not be ready for posting until we are done uploading & editing them to our Pirates picassa site. Because of so many pictures that were taken that week-end it is taking some time to get them all done and working as fast as I can on them. My goal was to have them completed by the end of the month - but it looks like it may take a couple of extra weeks. Thank you for inquiring.

If anyone else has pictures to post to our Pirates picassa site please send them to me at stuandpeg@cox.net

Well, I finally got my long term care policy that we all discussed a few months back. I needed to do it before it was way too expensive for me to afford. If any of you are considereing buying long term care, don't wait too long. The price goes up as we age.

06/26/09 08:49 PM #2487

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Phyllis, I am happy to hear you got your policy. I'm sure after your talk with Gene Muren at the reunion it enlightened you a bit more about the importance of having a policy like that.

I finally got mine as well, it was a long process with all the paper work between the insurance company and the doctor records, etc. I hate spending the $289 a month, but if my husband ever needs it for me it will be there for him.

Hey Gals, about the OUT HOUSE for sale I am just not 100% sure yet if I can part with that or not? LOL

I may leave town for a few days to go stay with my husband on the new job site. The motorhome is backed up right on a beautiful river, I think if I buy a new book I may just have to go and get some R&R before our big 4th of July celebration.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Connie,
Congrats to your hubby, what a wonderful feeling that must be. I just drove 3 1/2 hours to my husbands new job site so I could spend a few days with him. It's really beautiful here we are in an RV park right on the Clearwater River in Idaho. I needed a little break, even if it's only for 2 days. We will drive home together and have a fun filled 4th of July at the lake house.

Everyone have a great holiday and be safe.

Lynne

Connie, Good for your husband. Get him a new dustmop and apron for his retiremnet gift. I hope you have a long "honey-do list" for him. Keep him busy and out of mischief.
