Marcia Kraft Barringer gave me a calender that gives you archaic words for each day. One of the best was thorough-cough, the description is it's when you cough and pass gas at the same time. Yesterday's word was dentriloquist which is a person who talks through their teeth. So is a rectumoquist someone who talks out of their ass?

Marsha, Pat Kuester Bowen is collecting money for flowers. I don't know what happened to her address as it was on the forum, but I don't see it now.

Pat can you put your address up again for Marsha.

Thank you and thank you for taking care of the flower arrangement.

Pat---

Thanks for the info on Jim Smith. Please keep us posted.

On a lighter note, you always make me laugh!!!

Also, I checked out V-pike and thought it was very cool. I wonder when they took the pics though -- it shows our pontoon boat beside the house but we sold it last summer. I like the way you can maneuver around the street.

Pat Kuester (Bowen)

Well, that's a little behind times. Try google map & see if the boat is still there. Maybe it's a phantom boat, just won't leave cuz it liked you guys so much.

By the way, I just got an e-mail from Carol. Jim is coming home. He had a stroke on the 5th of February which affected the part of the brain that controls walking. He still has the lung cancer and pneumonia. Carol will have a full time nurse to help her. Calls and visits are welcome.

I am so saddened by the downturn in Jim Smith's health. He is fighting a hard battle with Carol beside him. It must be so hard for both of them. My love and thoughts are with them.

If your assessment is correct Pat, I know lots of rectumoquists. :)

the airial pics on google are more outdated than the street view pics. The view of our park shows a vacant space where our home has been for. just over 2 1/2 years.

Pat Kuester (Bowen)

Well Don, you made me look. Google didn't have a street view of my house, so I went to vpike. It most certainly wasn't a current picture. There was't one car in the driveway. At this point, we couldn't fit another vehicle in our driveway. No cars on the street either.

I was hoping these would be current photos. It would save me a lot of gas money while stalking people. Or at least see if they are home before making the trip to their neighborhood.

Nick and I went to visit Carol and her husband, Jim, on Saturday. His spirits are good. Along with the cancer, he has pneumonia and colitis that is acting up. Carol is taking good care of him, but she is very tired, she certainly is not getting much rest. Please continue praying for both of them.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Saying lots of prayers for Carol and Jim, does anyone have any news?

Also, just a quick update on my mom. We are near the end of her journey, tonight the nurse told me it would be good for my brother to head up from CA to be here.
It's such a sad time in my life, my mom has been my best buddy all my life. My dad is going to be so lost without her, they have been together since she was 15. It's a true love story! I have been a blessed kid that is for sure.

Looks like you are going to have a big bash in Las Vegas, lots of new names on the list that I've never heard of, but should be lots of fun stories to hear.

Lynne

Carol, glad to hear that Jim is doing better. Talk about a miracle Amen!

Lynne, as I told you last night, ya know that you are always in my thoughts, prayers. Our families have so many things there were similar, never new that before. My mother was 15 when she met my dad and my dad was 18. They were married for 61 years, not just husband and wife but they were best friends too.

Keep us informed ok.

Love ya lots!

Good Afternoon Fellow Classmates:

It is with great saddness the news of Lynne's mom passing. I just received a call from Lynne, I was looking at facebook for more news and instantly she texted me that her mom had passed and is now eternally peaceful. I immediately called her back, to convey heartfelt sympathy. I wanted to reach through the phone to give her a big hug.

I am going to give Lynne's address to you. Let's all overwhelm her with the Pirate love by sending her cards that express how one feels. I know that when my dad passed it was all the cards from all my pirate friends and family that got me through such a most difficult time in a persons life.

As soon as I hear more information I will convey it to all of you.

Please continue to keep Lynne and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Love Always,

Lorene

Jim is in the hospital right now. I took him out of hospice care last Friday....it was not the proper placement for him at this time. He has always been a fighter and wasn't ready to give up. He will be leaving here in a few more days to a rehab till he is strong enough to come home...this has been a long journey for the 2 of us and the prayers across the country from all my Pirate family have gotten us through some pretty difficult times..I thank you all. He has a long way to go but headed in the right direction

Lynne,

I too know how you feel Lynne, I have lost both my parents and still miss them so much. My father has been gone since I was 13 and I still miss him but know that the pain does ease and you'll have all the wonderful memories. I know that you have had a wonderful friend in your mother and she had a wonderful daughter.

Thank you everyone for you thoughts, prayers, flowers, and support. I'm trying to get things all in order, lots of work planning a funeral for a Queen.
I am going to miss my mom so much, she wasn't just my mom she was my best friend.
Anyway, thank you all.
Love
Lynne

We just returned from a wonderful weekend in California. First stop of course was Chris and Pitts in Bellflower.

A group of us went to the "Gourmet Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Theater" in Newport Beach on Saturday night to celebrate my sister Betty's birthday. What a fabulous evening we had. I highly recommend it.

Sunday Pat Kuester Bowen met us at Fuddruckers in Lakewood for lunch. We always have a great time with Pat and enjoy her humorous spin on things. On a serious note, she is going through a very difficult time acting as caregiver for her mother who is very ill and nearing the end of her life. Denny and I stopped by her house after lunch and visited with her mom for a short while. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers and call Pat to chat when you think about it. She definitely needs the outlet. (Pat, I hope that's okay with you.)

Now, back home in Lake Havasu and back to work.

Listen, don't worry about me. I have my little outings like lunch with the Kraft clan, also, my many trips to Rite Aid. One day it's Milk of Magnesia, the next it's Imodium D, today it's Preparation H. I'm sure once we get the diarrhea and hemorrhoids taken care of I'll be back to Rite Aid for Milk of Magnesia. That's the circle of life.

My mom ended her circle of life today Pat, and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Wonderful service, and thank you to so many of my Pirate Friends, for the amazing and beautiful cards.

Love
Lynne

Where did everyone go? Facebook seems to be the place. Let's not lose touch of this site. Pop in once in a while to just say hello.

What is going on in my life - Here goes :)

Well it is almost Friday! Yipeee! How I long for those days! Working with teachers, RIF's-Pink Slips. Let's just say that I cannot take off from work whole month of March, (like I really am). So many of our teachers will be losing jobs. District sent out 400+ RIF notices. I have been here for 26 years and this is our 3rd year of RIF's. Who is going to teach the kids? California needs to get its act together! My heart breaks when I see these teachers come in the office :( with their paperwork, and this is only the beginning.

Roland is still hobbling around. The doctor wants him to have the surgery. He got another round of shots in the knee. He can't do much at one time, because of his back too. I don't think Roland will be going back to work - Fender Musical let him go in January. Let's just say we have lots and lots of tools in our garage - more than what is needed.

Well my daughter's wedding will be here before you know it - May 15th. The shower is this weekend. She has talked me into going to Vegas - New York-New York for her bachelorette party April 9 & 10. As many of you who know who have planned weddings - lots of work to make a dream come true.

Pat B. thinking about you - take care!

Maurene and I will be traveling to Texas the frist week of June. Her granddaughter will be graduating from high school. She was excepted at Baylor University - wants to be a doctor. Maurene is also expecting the arrival of another grandchild, this will be her son Kevins first child and its a boy. The baby will be induced on May 3rd.

Just me checking in - saying a few words and hoping that all is well.

Take care one and ALL,

Love Always,

Lorene

Hey Lorene
I think you are right we are all hanging out on Facebook, but we do need to keep our PHS site up and going.

It seems like only a few days ago I was posting that my mom was not doing well, now she has passed away and is barried and gone forever, except for in my heart.

Life will never be the same without my buddy, but I have so many blessings to hold onto.

Thank you to so many of you for the nice cards you sent. Lorene, thank you my friend for all of the extra special love!!!! You are an amazing friend.

Love to all
Lynne
