Ladies of the Forum, (and Mark!)

I found Marty Dolson, a previously missing classmate, he is living in Richmond VA.  He contacted me through FaceBook so I thought I would pass this along.  He is retired too!  Since I'm not that's all I got for ya for now.  I O, I O, it's back to work I go!  You can whistle along if you remember the melody.  Retired peeps are excused from this exercise.

Hi Guys:

I've heard from Marty on Classmates and Facebook and I, too, gave him the web address for this site hoping he would log in.  I thought it would be fun for him to read the Message Forum - I know I always get a kick out of it.

Hi everyone

It has been a hard year so far with my Daughter and everything going on.

My Daughter that got the Kidney and Pancresas so far has had 7 surgeys and going to have another next week some parts of the Boys Kidney is to small and the hospital has the fix it with her parts and she has had some blood clots that had  to be removed. We just call it bumps in the road.

Theresa was having a good day and we went shopping and I was helping her take some bags into the house. Will my grandson had some weights on the floor a nd I feel over them and broke my shoulder and my foot in two places. I was in bed for 8 weeks.

Before that I also was able to go out to do my closer with Donna Quintana for we had been friends for 55 years.

She had just talked to my Daughter 1hr before she died. She would call everyday and talk  to Theresa and tell her how much she loved her and prayed for her. She was my kids only Aunt.

Now that everything is almost on the road again I'm going to Tenn after Theresa Surgey and pick up my grandkid  for 2 months and have fun with them. They love to go the Greenbay Wi to the Packers Statuim and have alot of fun. It is a place that is for the family of all ages. It is also open 362 days a year.

Thank you everyone for all your prays and may God be with all of you I know God is with us.

Connie Nelson

Connie, What I am going through with my mother doesn't even come close to what you've gone through with your daughter.  I've told you before, but I'll say it again, I commend you for your faith and endurance.  I was never meant to be a nurse.  I just want to tell my mom to buck up and deal with her illness.  Instead, I grit my teeth (and maybe roll my eyes sometimes) and cater to her every whim.  I'm either going to Heaven for taking care of her or going to Hell for some of the evil thoughts I've had.  I always say that just about the time I've earned my passage to Heaven by my good deeds, I think something nasty about someone and nullify the ticket.  Well maybe there is a special place in Heaven for malcontents with a heart of gold.

Hello everyone, the wedding was last week and it's time to relax once again. Things are calming down at work - yippeee. Roland and I are headed off to Carmel on Friday. My most favorite place to be. Thought we would sneek away for a bit. The newlyweds are heading off to their honeymoon destination - all is well.

Take a moment to view some of the funny things from the photobooth at the wedding. It was such a hit.

Copy and paste it on your web browser.

Connie we continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Pat you hang in there girl. It takes a special person to do what you are doing. After all is said and done, you will recall and cherish the moments you have had with your mom.

Take care and have a wonderful Memorial Day everyone.

Love Always,

Lorene

Lorene,

The wedding photos that I have been able to see really are amazing, it must have been one of the best days of your life.  Such joy and happiness, I wish I could have been with you.
However, as you know our step-grandson was married that very same day.  Good day for weddings.

I love you and miss you and still hope that we get this girls summer thing worked out.

Lynne

Rosa and I went to Disneyland on Sunday. Had a great time. Got there early before the crowds.

I never have like the fast rides, Rosa does. The Pirates ride was fast enough. The last time we went was when the kids were in middle school. It sure brought back a lot of nice memories. Some of the stuff is new. But there are places that were there back in 1958. Such as the paddle boat, the Jungle Boat, the Magic Castle!  I had a model of the Moonliner Rocket Ship. One of my favorites (in the photo). I found one on e-bay for $190. A bit much for memorabilia. I still have tickets for rides from the 50's in a memory book. The price has gone up to $72.  What a wonderful day!

How about you all. What do you remember about Disneyland?

Mark, I remember the day that Disneyland opened up. We've got pictures of my mom, me and all of my sisters. It was such a blast. Back then no crowds.

We went to Disneyland in December, the lights were pretty. April got me to go on the Tower of Terror - oh what a ride. Free falling for sure.

Here I hope is the link to April's photo booth at the wedding. Click on the link to view wedding photos of guests.

Next time we have a class reunion we should look into having a photo booth there. It was so much fun. Fun to get a little crazy. We had cameras on the tables, plus the photographer, but everyone had fun in the photobooth as you can see.

My daughter April with my now new son-in-law Trent.

April and proud daddy!

Love,

Lorene

Lynne the wedding was amazing. Time went by way to fast that evening. I blinked my eyes and it was over at 3:30 a.m. lol. Believe me I was exhausted from pulling this thing together in 5 1/2 months. Truly a princess wedding.

I should be getting more time off since the district is going to closed 9 extra days. Looks like I will be off for 3 weeks during the holidays and 1 week during Thanksgiving. We will still have a few schools on year round, wish they were all going on traditional modified, then I would have the whole summer off - like I used too once upon a time. I still have a lot of vacation time and personal time to take off before the end of August.

Miss you too. I am just now getting off cloud nine, things are winding down. Roland & I are headed to Carmel this Friday. Wish my mom would go with us as I worry about her. Next week Brenda, Maurene, mom and I are flying to Texas on the red eye Thursday morning. No sleep for me. It should be fun, I've never seen Maurene's daughter's place and the new baby boy, her grandson.

Have a great Memorial weekend everyone. Be safe, enjoy one another, and don't forget to tell the ones you love, how much they mean to you.

Love to all,

Lorene

I Love Disneyland.

My Dad worked for Cowelco Steel Mfg.  They did all the steel work out there.  The Matterhorn infrastructure, the bull pens (the rails at the rides that makes the lines look shorter than they really are) and much more.  We got to go to Disneyland free every year.

After high school I worked at Disneyland....what a great place to work.  Kathy Novodvorsky, Becky Morrison, Ann Rambo, Sue Lovinger, Joanne Hughes and Joetta Turpin all worked at Disneyland.

Anyone else out there work at Disneyland?

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

I didn't work at Disneyland, but Paula Matos, Tudy, Edddy Sandoval and I snuck there one night without telling our parents. We had a blast, lots of kissing going on as I recall on some of those rides. BUT BOY did we get busted when we got caught.

I went to Disneyland in September of 1955 with my Mom her sister and her husband and two of their kids.  They came out to Calif. from Kansas to go to the Happiest Place on Earth! When Don and I got married in 1973 he worked for Royal Business Machines and one night every year we had a night at Disneyland for Royal employees only.  When he switched to Xerox we had sometimes 2 nights a year at Disneyland for Xerox employees only.  We went every time, no lines the kids loved it and so did I. What a good time for all!! And the price was right!  I have no idea what it must be now.  We keep planning to take Zoey but something keeps coming up.  Love to all, keep healthy.....Sandi

Thank you Gloria, it was so good to see everyone again - we had a great time.  I should be done with getting the pics up on the picasa site by this week-end - I just keep having laughing attacks at the 1 pic (you know which one I mean) because I can still picture the whole scene.  Sarah just kept us laughing.

Thank You all very much.  Rosa and I had a great time.  It's always been enjoyable getting together with friends, going back to the first reunion.

I posted 40 new photos, from this June 4 &5th get together, on this web site, under my classmate profile.  You can drag the ones you want onto your computer file.

I look forward to another get together, and another, and another.  Ms. Sprauge was amazing. Robert Barker was from the class of "63". He lived down the street from me and was our Boy Scout Guide. He helped my aunt with our Cub Scout, Den. I happened to have a photo of us, including Johnny Maxwell, my brother in our Cubbie uniforms and Bob is standing behind us in his Boy Scout uniform. It was a good role model for us.

Again, Thank You very much.

Hi Mark,

Thank you, I really enjoyed seeing you and Rosa.

Yes, I will move the pictures over to the website - the others you sent were great I should have them all done by this week-end.

Wow that is really something about Robert Barker, what a small world.  He sure was a very nice guy - enjoyed talking with him.   Mrs. Sprague was really amazing - she can really dance.  She too is a wonderful lady.  Loved the DJ - he really did a good job.

It really is nice that we all still get together - I think our class has been great about staying in touch and having our yearly events.  If we can get 50 plus classmates and guests together for next year - I will set it up.  We have to guarantee the hotel a minimum of 50 - so we will see how things go and if we can do it - well we will all meet up again next year - how does that sound?

Have a great evening

Wow!  That would be great, again.

I'd like to help if I can.

You can count on 2 people, Rosa and myself.

Art & Cheryl, Gary & Lori  will probably attend (I hope).  I try to get a group there.

Mark
