Hi Class,

First off so very sorry to hear about Charlene we were very close when we were both in Alondra.

These past few months have been rough losing a lot of my own good friends as well as so many classmates, I guess it's part of life but doesn't mean I have to lke it.

I haven't been on our class site fr a long time, it seem each time I posted it was as if no one saw it....crazy

i have been back in contact with Mary Nelson Booth, wow that has been amazing we were inseparable in high school. I remember going to prom with her brother Gary I think he was feeling sorry for me because no one else had ask me.  :)

Mary just broke her foot and will be in a cast for quite some time. Keep her as well as all of us in your prayers.

i hope you are all well......I know most of us have hot the big 65/66 years old wow isn't it kinda weird ring retired and having Social Security.? LOL.

My husband and I took a cruise to Alaska it was nice we went with a big goup of family. Then we traveled cross country in our RV. Recently we took a month long trip to Parker, AZ to the Baja desert races then onto Yuma.

I hope and pray you are all happy, healthy and enjoying life.

Lynne

I was just thinking about how darn old I am and wondered if there will be a 50th class reunion. According to my calculations it is only 2 years away from 2018.  Is there anyone on board for planning something like that?  Phyllis are you still the administrator for this website?  Is everyone using the Facebook website now?  I'll check.  Just thought I would check in.  I hope everyone is happy and healthy these days!!  Are most of us retired now?

Robin,

There will be a 50th class reunion. As far as working or being retired. I am still working until next year. I have not figured out the month I will retire, but I do know that it will be sometime in 2017.

A lot of us are on facebook, but it looks as though there are not too many on this site. So I guess we should all just say hi if we are checking in and looking at messages.

Take care one and all.

Love Lorene

I have no idea who will be working on the 50th. Who ever takes this on and it should be soon, I have a package to send to them.

Probably will for another year or two. Happy I still can as in my business they do not force us out. I'm not on Facebook as yet.

Retirement can be a wonderful time.  It "can" get a person to think about life.  As for myself, I prepared myself mentally.  I had a lift of things I wanted to do. finished the list in the first 6 months! There are ongoing things though.  Hiking, gardening, running and lifting weights(more than before retirement), cooking, housekeeping, fishing, visiting my son and daughter, traveling, taking art classes, visiting friends, helping my mom(she's 91 years old), geneaology, and I substitute a day each week.  All of this helps.  I do get my share of t.v. watching too, and days that I just relax and lounge around (something my son and daughter say I should have done all these years).  That's easy to say when you don't have a mortgage, family and students to attend to.    Congratulations on your up coming retirement, enjoy and grow younger as long as you can.

Mark

Hi Geri,

Lorene Busteed has offered to organize and I will be her co-partner.  We'll have a grand ol' time.  May we all have good health so that we can visit each other at least one more time.  I must admit, I've had dreams all my life (a couple of times a year) about being back in high school.  Psycologically, friends and sports filled voids in my young life.  Talk to you soon.  My e-mail; moverstreet@sbcglobal.net

Hi, Mirtha told me things are moving fast for our reunion. Sounds like we might have a good turn out. As you know I am still on the School Board and have access to City Banquet  rooms. The city has a really nice room at Progress Park we could plan something there if you like and I can give everyone a tour of our newly remodeled High School. I think where we had our Prom is a nice nostalgic touch, we can do a second day ialso if anyone would like  here in Paramount. Let me know, we have the Marriott and in Downey we the Embassy Suites near by. Hope to see you all soon.

Good Afternoon Pirates,

It's official we are going to have a class reunion in 2018. We can also include the classes of 1967, 1968, 1969 if they would like to be included in YOUR 50th class reunion.

This is your reunion and I need feedback from you as to the time of year that you would like to hold this amazing event. Is there any particular month you might have in mind? I know, as I have been talking to different venues, the time of year is also an indicator of price too.

I need your help to spread the word to those who might be interested. My email is lorenetwin1@att.net, Maurene's is: bettybooptwin2@aol.com and I believe that Mark Overstreet is also helping too. Jeri Fish has contacted me and would like to help. All others are more than welcome.

I realize that a lot can happen within the next 2 years, let's go forward and plan this special event for everyone. I guess it would give a person something to look forward to.

Also if there is a certain budget that people have in mind that they would like to pay to attend the event, please let me know and a price range that they would like to have for the hotel room. All of this information will be of great value in considering locations for all of you to vote on.

First and foremost I need to start gathering names of people who would like to attend and their guests'

Let's start a list:

Lorene Householder & Roland Householder

I am anxiously waiting to hear from ALL of you.

Love, Lorene
