hello lyn, try this link....... http://quake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/Quakes/ci10370177.htm

lyn did you have to put chains on the get aroung up there? or do they keep the roads plowed? Once I had to drive from just north east of Boise to placerville with chains, snowed all the way, stayed on the road too.
You said some of the snow has started to melt. I know the are getting it bad in seattle with the flooding.

hope everyone is ok in the quake zone.
It might be warm down here this weekend, will have to run the a/c.
have fun
randy

Pat Hamilton, I'm glad I wasn't the only naieve person at PHS. But my kids still think I'm a "school girl" (that would be a goody two shoes in our day). I still believe everything anyone tells me. Anyway......

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Randy,
Thank you for the link, I will try it. I tried the first one but didn't have much luck. I hope some of the shaking has stopped for all of you.

As far as all of our snow, I get along great with my car I have 4WD and actually hardly ever use it. They keep the roads plowed really good where we live, I have no complaints. Well, maybe one complaint and that is when we get to much snow on the tops of the roofs, that tends to make me nervous. Some of the big 18 wheelers that were driving in the Spokane, WA area had to put chains on. That was the first time I'd ever seen that in the 20 plus years I've lived here.

The snow is melting and some of the rivers are starting to get close to flood stage, that usually means we are going to have a flood at the lake house which is always a big mess. We always seem to manage, get it cleaned up and end up having fun in the summer.

I will check that site out. I am hoping no more earthquakes in W. Yellowstone, as I will be heading there Saturday for 6 days. They have been having a lot of quakes there since the middle of Dec.
that kinda scares me with the avalanches.

Take care,
Lynne

Lorene BuSteed (Householder)

Yep, we had a whole lot of shaking going on tonight and we are not in Las Vegas yet. hmmm

I think everyone felt the quake in varying degrees. I often thought since our house sits on decomposed granite that we would really not feel the earthquakes as others do, I was WRONG. The last earthquakes, we have really felt them. At first I heard a what seemed to be a big boom and then the movement started. I headed over to my prized possession (the grandfather clock from Roland's mom and step dad) I went outside and checked the motor home since Roland has it raised up in the front on blocks, well I do believe he is going to have to move the motor home back and replace it on the blocks tomorrow. I have not told him yet as he is asleep and goes to work at midnight.

Regarding the mini reunion in Las Vegas, casual is great to me! Just to be able to chat with everyone sounds good. We had a great time at the Gold Coast Bar area, just mingling and chatting.

Randy, you're right it's supposed to get to 82 degrees on Sunday. Go figure this weather out. I bet you really felt the shaking in Redlands.

Take care one and all!

Lorene

Hi Classmates,
Yes, the Vegas Party on June 6th will be very casual. No formal wear - it's summertime so dig out the shorts, tank tops and sandals. More to come later........
Looking forward to seeing y'all in June.
Peggy

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Randy, Lorene, I can't believe you are going to be in the 80's this week end. WOW, we won't be up to that kind of weather until maybe I'd say....July?

I hope the earthquakes are about over for you. Lorene, did I hear you right, you went outside when all the 'shaking was going on" what were you thinking? Did you think there was a big street dance going on or something? I thought you were supposed to stand in a door jam area until the quake was over, or was it hide under a desk? Hum, I guess that would be hard to do for some of us. :-)

Randy it's good to see you back on the forum, stay in touch.

Stay safe everyone, good talking to you.
Lynne

Marianna Brown (Schechter)

Classmates...
Regarding the Las Vegas Party....Peggy and I have talked about looking into the hotels on Fremont Street. They seem to have some good deals. We were thinking of having a mixer (at a bar of course) on Friday night and then a dinner on Saturday. We want this as casual and laid back as we can get. Fremont Street can be a lot of fun.
Any other suggestions?

Those of you in the 'earthquake zone'...do you remember the drills we had in school?

Marianna

Hello Fellow classmates, especially all you movers and shakers out there in So. Cal.

Randy thank you for the correction on Mr. Trasky were you in my class? I just can't remember what class was who and half the time I can't remember the classes I had.

Phyllis my dear one, well it's definitely not a secret anymore... Well classmates, guess what? yes I still hold a torch for that lady... It's a good thing I have my Pam and she has her Nick or we would be in one hell of a predicament. She doesn't like the cold, and I don't like the earthquakes... I have an idea, Phyllis let's meet in Vegas and we have the best of both worlds... :)

One thing I do not miss is the earthquakes. They were rude, shocking me out of bed most of the time. No I don't miss that. I hope you all fared well thru this one.

80's this weekend in So Cal... Hmmm, my weather forecast is finally again above freezing (just barely) during the day and in the teens at night. We just had 4" of snow dump on us in about 2 hours this morning and I have been plowing since 2:15 AM Mtn time. Just got home so plowed about 10.5 hrs this time. Not too bad. 80's... what am I doing here??? It's so snowy here that the deer are coming out of the mountains into the neighborhoods looking for food. I see the darn things every morning now in fields all around us. Scary cause they run out in front of the vehicles and let me tell you they can do a fair amount of damage to your car if you hit one.

Lynne, let's go to So. Cal for the next month and let our signifigant others take care of the snow... By the way did that plow driver deliver my gift??? A nice big pile of snow right in the middle of your driveway???

Also Lynne, Phyllis & I confessed ours, now you have to confess yours right here in front of God and everyone... Anyone else want to jump on this bandwagon...??? This could get really interesting, eh?

Lynne, Stephanie is #16 on the list... You need new glasses dear lady... :)

Rays lady is home so bye you all...

Hugs and hand-shakes to you all,
Ray

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Ray you are so right, I do need new glasses. Bad part is I just got them two days ago, and still didn't see Stephanie's name. What can I say????

Before I forget, Carol what great news about Jim and no more chemo, everyone let's give Jim a big cheer!!!!!

Mark Overstreet, and Gary Buice I got a wonderful email from Dick Chapman today and he ask me to tell you both that he said hello.

Ray, I didn't get that big deposit of snow in my driveway you must have given the plow driver the wrong address my friend.

If I weren't heading out to Yellowstone in the morning, I might think about that offer to go to So. CA for a month.

Everyone take care and I will stay in touch.
Love,
Lynne

You're right Marsha, we all know a few who didn't make it last time, so let's encourage them this time. Randy Roberts, how about you working on Greg Brandel. I know you are friends, and maybe Steve Tanikawa.

I'm going to call Paula Matos and Darnell. Darnell had planned to make it the last time, but something came up at the last minute and she had to cancel.

01/09/09 07:38 PM #1490

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

OK you guys are you trying to "DITCH ME" again, isn't Freemont Street in the New Orleans area? Come on, don't get me all mixed up again, it's bad enough I can't see right Ray? :-)

01/09/09 07:39 PM #1491

Phyllis Willhite

Lynne, there's a whole street, downtown, old time Vegas. It's pretty cool.

01/09/09 07:42 PM #1492

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

OK Phyllis, for some reason I have a good feeling that you wouldn't ditch me and send me to New Orleans.
Freemont Street sounds like it will be fun, maybe if some of us feel like walking we can go walk around.
Is that where the old Golden Nugget is? I think I might remember going there back in the early 70's.

01/09/09 07:50 PM #1493

Phyllis Willhite

You got it. I am all for walking around and people watching.
