Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Lorene and Maurene,

My hearts goes out to both of you. Please know your whole PHS 68 are with you in thoughts. My dad passed away in 90 of congestive heart failure at age 65. Way to young. Still miss him to this day, but my memories are wonderful. We will keep you two wonderful girls in our prayer as you go thru this process.

Love and hugs,

Carol

Lorene, you and Maurene are great daughters. Your father, and any of us, couldn't have asked for more tlc during a time like this. During the years to come, knowing this will be a huge source of comfort for both of you. Atta girls.....

Thank you Billie, they have the Lord in their lives so I believe she will be just fine. Never thought I would be so happy to hear about someone peeing in a cup. LOL

Pat,
What a blessing to have your niece donate her kidney to your sister-in-law. May they both have a quick road to recovery as it sounds they are both doing well. Our prayers are with you all.

How's Larry doing? When you talk to him - tell him Hi for me.

Peggy

Patricia Hamilton (Denham)

Thank you Peggy. My niece went home yesterday and Sharon should go home today. We are so happy, they are both doing so well. It is hard to believe that they let them go home so soon.

I will tell Larry "hi" when I see him. I don't see him nor talk to him often. I can't hear on the phone so I don't call people much.

Thanks again,

Pat

Anyone who normally posts here come on over to facebook. We're all over there chatting back and forth, posting pics and questionnaires and all kinds of stuff. It is so much fun but I hope the addition of facebook will not stop our posts to this site. I've noticed everyone has slowed down on here.

I created a facebook page mostly to see what picture capabilites were there. Can only seem to see small pics so I won't be there a lot.

Honestly carrying on conversation in 2 places doens't make sense TO ME.

Lorene & Maurene...May peace be with you and your loved ones and may God Bless You and Your Family. Like Cheryle Thurlo, my Mother passed away 18 years ago, she was 68 and lived for 5 years after her stroke and Dad died at 83 yrs of age 8 years ago. Cheryle you know that you and I are considered orphans when both parents have passed on. Lorene and Maurene you were blessed to have your Father in your lives for as long as you did. The hardest part for me was never again being able to touch or hug the one you love so dearly. Be good to yourselves. Sincerely in sorrow for you...Robin

Don,

Hmmm I don't know what you mean about the size of your photos. Mine are viewing size 4 x 6. I checked yours out. They are smaller than mine. I have no idea why that would be but I could still see them.

Charnetia Anderson (Pokorny)

I haven't been reading our site messages for a few days...I am so sorry to hear of Lorene's and Maurene's Father's death. However, when we know beyond a shadow of a doubt a person has asked Jesus in to their hearts and lives as their Lord and Savior, we have "HOPE". We know we will be joining them eventually with eternal life in a beautiful place, with streets of gold and gates of pearl. I believe we even have a mansion built especially for us to dwell in when we arrive in heaven.

I am so blessed, my parents are going to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary next week. We are planning a big shindig with about 60 or 70 of their friends.

I would like to suggest, you talk to your parents now before they have passed and find out what they would like for their special "Home Going" service. Who they would like to sing, what they would like to have sung. Who they would like to have as pallbearers. Any special things they would like to be remember for, and who they would like to do their service. We had asked all these and more questions with my husbands parents and it was so much easier getting everything planned when the time came. We also knew it was exactly what they wanted and that brought us a lot of peace of mind.

Lynne, like Billie said, "God has a PLAN"! I know it seems at times it is all that we can bear, however, try to let Him bear it for you and you will find true peace.

Pat, God is good...I am so thrilled for your sister-in-law's good report.

Marianne, I am praying for strength and peace in your family at this time.

You are all in my prayers. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt He will give you strength in all you are going through.

I love you guys. God bless you.
Charnetia

I agree Don, Picasa is the way to go for photos. Facebook is just a silly, fun place to keep in touch. Not only are my classmate friends on there so are lots of my family.

Take care, glad to see you back on the forum. We hadn't heard from you for a while. Married life must keep you busy.

Thank you Charnetia for your thoughts regarding Sharon, you can't know how happy we are. We have been waiting for this for so long. She and her daughter are such wonderful people.

Well, today my husband had his "nose job". Really he had his devinated (?) septum fixed so he can breathe easier (I hope). When I got into his room he said "I have a headache, my throat is so sore, my mouth is dry and I can't breathe out of my nose." I said, "You have a headache because they took this little bity hammer to your nose, your throat is sore because of the breathing tube, your mouth is dry because you are breathing through your mouth and you can't breathe out of your nose because it is shoved full of some kind of weird sponge soaking up all the blood. Just close your eyes and sleep and everything will be all better." He bought it for a while until he had to pee, and we had to unplug everything that was beeping and guide him and "Charley" (that's the IV and it's pole) in to this tiny little bathroom. He comes home in the morning, and no one will be any happier than him. He hates to sleep in a strange bed. Pat, I'm so glad that things seem to be looking good for your sister-in-law and her daughter. That's such a miracle. Don't leave our web site, we would so miss you. Billie Jo, Mom says congrats on the new baby. Busteed twins, I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. Even though we know it is gonna happen, it is still such a slap in the face. Lynne hope your Mom is doing okay today. And everyone else, I so enjoy you all, Happy Monday!

Marianna Brown (Schechter)

Lorene & Maurene...I am so saddened in reading about your Father...Remember that your loss is shared by many friends who care. That you're in our thoughts and hearts and in our every prayer. I like Robin and Cheryl am an orphan. I lost my dad February 2, 1986 on his 69th birthday and my mom in 1989 just after she turned 69 years old....far to young. My dad had prostate cancer. He wasn't a big man...about 6'...185 pounds, but when he passed he weighed less than 90 pounds. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss my parents...but it does get easier with time.

GUYS...GET YOUR CHECK-UPS AND PROSTATE SCREENING DONE!

Pat, I'm so happy to hear your sister-in-law is doing well after her kidney surgery. Your niece sounds like a saint. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and messages of hope for my brother. Danny was in a coma for over a week. He is now somewhat awake, very confused. He is still in ICU but breathing on his own. His DR's gave him less than 10% of pulling through. When I first saw him last Wednesday night, I didn't think he would last the night.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes for Sharon. As of yesterday she and Tiffany are still doing great. Tiffany seems to be having a little more trouble recovering but she's tough and will get through. They both have the Lord in their lives and that will help them.

Marianna I hope that your brother gets better soon. It sounds like he, at least, has a fighting chance now. Being awake is a very good sign.

Sandi, your husband is going to feel so much better once he heals. My nephew had a growth in his nasal passage. He had it most of his life. He says now that it is gone he doesn't even have allergies anymore.

Gotta get to work now.

Oh and Sandi, I'm not leaving the forum but maybe you and Marianna should think about joining us on facebook. It's silly but fun.

Billie...thanks for the reminder about the $55. buffet money. Peggy...I'm mailing a check pronto. Marianna...how is brother today? Are you still in Phoenix or home-sweet-home? I haven't booked the flight for "Coco Montoya" as you are overwhelmed, I'm sure, about your brother's medical problems. You, Peggy and I will have to make it another time when they are back in Vegas, sound good? You call the shots dear. Be good to yourself, glad you have your hubby with you!!!

Maurene BuSteed (Andrade)

Hello fellow classmates, thank you all for your support and comfort, I'am sorry I didn't list all your names, it is so hard. I have been with my parents off and on for the last three months, taking care of both of my parents.
We played music, Merle Haggard his favorite music, my Dad used to play the hermonica to Merle Haggards music. I played Silver wings and I would sing it to him, he could not talk, but you would see him trying to move his tongue and I would touch his vocal cords and you could feel him singing. He would move his eye brows when we would talk to him, that was his way of talking at the end, I even told him to take me with him and you know he said no in a low voice, my Dad was not only my father but my very best friend, there wasn't a day that went by, that I didn't call him, he would always act silly and say this is Horge Gonzales and we would laugh. I truly thank you for your support and prayers, when all the company leaves the ranch it will really be hard on my mother. Thanks to you all for your love and support.

Lorene BuSteed (Householder)

Just wanted to say thank you to all our classmates for the warm thoughts going to Maurene and I. Thanks for all the cards too, it really meant a lot.

Lynne thank you for all your calls of encouragement through this most difficult time in our lives. I felt the warmth of your hugs and the love of your embrace, for this I am eternally grateful. Thank you.

In our minds we still feel as though this is but a dream, wondering if when we wake up, is it really real?

I know when our father parted this earth that he is in a much better place than we are. He is with the Lord, he told us how beautiful it was.

So, as we take each day remembering those wonderful moments and times that we shared and truly knowing that he is ok and without pain, the loss is great but in our hearts we are truly happy for him knowing that we will be with him again someday.

Thanks again for all your love and support! You guys are truly amazing, our Pirate friends!!

The service, was truly amazing, full of love and comfort - a celebration of his life as he wanted it. I got up to speak about our dad, it was difficult but I felt his strength standing right beside me. The burial was today at Riverside National Cemetery. Odd thing was, he is buried in section 28 and our parents anniversary is on the 28 and his site is 2975 and his Ham radio number was 175 and the guy he is buried next to, his name was Roland the same as my husband. Now that is not a common name.

Love Always,

Lorene & Maurene

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Dear Maurene and Laurene:
Like I said before, your dad was so blessed to have you girls by his side. Our parents gave us the best childhoods ever, all the camping, going to the river, our mom's being home to cook dinner for our families. We were so blessed and we didn't even really know it back then did we? I know you will see your dad again in Heaven and he will be waiting for all of you with his handsome smile and his best looking cowboy duds on.

I will talk to you soon my friends, you know you are in my thoughts and prayers each and every day.

Love you both,
Lynne
PS: Please give your mom a hug for me too.
