Oh gosh, does that mean I should resurrect that hair color bottle? I love my hair natural. It is so much easier that way. LOL Now if I could find something to get rid of the wrinkly chin that would be wonderful.

Pat...I think your natural hair color is beautiful, I'm jealous and don't change a thing.

Is there a 50th reunion being planned in Hawaii? I thought there was a consenus taken at the 40th, is that to be ignored?
Peggy...stay off those feet and continue to get plenty of rest. I'm glad your surgery was successful, now follow doctors orders and you'll be just fine. Love you and give you a call soon!!

Pat, you know that none of us were making fun of your hair by any means.
I guess I could always wear a wig, if I didn't want to have the gray/blue kinky hair that most of the snowbirds in their RV's seem to have, which is what I was refering too as you know. All you have to do is drive thru Hemet, trust me I know I used to live down there too. LOL

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

OK my remark was not aimed at anyone as Robin has said it was. Those who have natural hair then good for you. BUT this chick is staying best friends with Clairol till death do us part and I will come back and haunt my husband if he even thinks of letting my roots show...LOL

Pat your hair is beautiful - wish I was brave enough to let mine go, but I keep hitting the bottle.

Robin, hi, I am staying off my feet and in bed. Going to the Dr for my check up tomorrow, looking forward to talking to you.

I think the girls were planning a 45th reunion in California and not sure what they have planned for the 50th, but Carol would be able to give you thatinfo.

Charnetia Anderson (Pokorny)

I would like to share a little incident that happened in class this last week...Pre-k. Several of the kido's have started loosing their teeth. So I was teaching them a song last week about after you loose a tooth you now have a "Window in your smile."
One of the little girls came to school Thursday, and said, "Look Mrs. Pokorny, I lost my tooth." And I said, "Oh, I love that window in your smile." Well, then a little 4 year old boy piped up and said, "Mrs. Pokorny, Mrs. Pokorny, you know my momma has a window in her smile, too!!" I laughed about that all day. Kids are so cute.

There is going to be a 45th reunion here in California. We will post a survey on the website at a later date. The survey we took at the reunion and from those who couldn't make the 40th were all in favor of a reunion in 5 years rather than wait for another 10 years.

Hawaii is another gathering of those classmates who want to go to Hawaii. I for one go every year with my husband so going with the girls is probably something I personally wouldn't do unless I were single. Call me old fashion but I love Hawaii with my best friend and the love of my life...

Robin I thought your birthday was in January? or do we have the wrong information?

Carol,
Hawaii is a beautiful place and I agree - I would go with the love of my life too - so you are not old fashioned.

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Carol,
I'm with you I will stick with the hair color as long as I have the most wonderful daughter in law in the world as my hairdresser. I love my short hair, and I love to keep it highlighted.

I think Robin once again took things the wrong way, none of us were making fun of anyone. The mention of the Hawaii 50 team, was not in reference to a 50 year reunion at all, it was in reference to the old TV Show "Hawaii 50". Hope that makes it clear so no one gets in a tissy that we are going off on our own planning a 50 year reunion...........

Carol you are correct there are some of us working on a trip to Hawaii, but nothing is confirmed yet. We are working with a wonderful man who is looking up a beach house for us. We still haven't picked a date as of yet

I am struggling with the same emotions you have of not going with my hubby, however he may be going on a fishing trip to Alaska with our sons. So the timing might work out pretty well. Not sure yet.

Love ya
Lynne

Pat, your hair is beautiful. And Carol, You wouldn't be the same without your red hair. You've had it much too long to ever change it. Now I am a differnt story. Got this blond hair from Carol about a year and a half ago. I love it and so does my husband. But I am toying with the idea of strawberry blond. I'm still scared, so can't quite make myself change it yet. Carol, I may need an appointment soon. What do you think? A change before the Vegas party might be just the thing.

A 45th reunion will be in the works. We will start looking around for just the right place and of course, when the time come we will be wanting input from the class as to what they might have in mind.

I know let's all go to Disneyland!

03/08/09 10:22 PM #1855

Sandra Harris (Lint)

Hey, Disneyland, I can handle. Hawaii, not until someone can figure out how to build a bridge there so I can drive. I have never flown.....anywhere. I know...I'm suprised at that, myself. And the next time I'm in California, I'm gonna make an appointment with Carol to get beautified!!

03/08/09 11:21 PM #1856

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Sandi,
I was only kidding about Disneyland, I can't tell if you are serious or not this time. LOL
Love ya girl.

Patricia Hamilton (Denham)

Please don't blame any of this on Robin or anyone else. I made the comment about my natural hair color she only said my hair was beautiful and I thank her for that. I know I am one of the lucky ones. Some people try to go gray and it just isn't a pretty sight. I love Carol's red hair and Phyllis, Robin and Lynne's blonde hair. It is a good thing I can go natural, 'cause I'm not a girly girl that likes spending time in a beauty shop. It drives me nuts. LOL

Love ya all, sorry if I started some kind of misunderstanding.

Sweet Pat,
You need to know you didn't start anything, it was something and someone else who read something between the lines that was never even there.

It's been very interesting to see how a few people on the site have been erasing their profiles in the recent months.....hummm????

Carol: I am making an appointment today to get my hair colored tomorrow, and I kind of like Phyllis' idea strawberry blonde, don't know for sure but maybe.

We all love you Pat.

03/09/09 01:55 PM #1859

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Ok Pat you are right. Your hair looks very nice on you and NOT all gray hair is the same. Most "natural" blonds have very pretty white hair as they get older and if you are lucky enough to have it by all means wear it....Beside we are the baby boomers and we go to any expense to look better, if not hair products it's creams, lotions and potions. Some even wear wigs. How come gray hair ALWAYS makes these guys look so distinguished? Ok Sandi it's a deal I will do your hair when you come to California and Phyllis Strawberry Blond will look good too. Just so you know I had my hair cut all off just last week. I love it!

I think we should all plan a Disneyland day maybe this summer. We can get the Paramount Pirate T-Shirts and prance around Disneyland...We have passes and go thru out the year but never tire of the place....

Well anyway I hope all is having a wonderful Monday...and I will check back after my Physical Therapy app. in a little while....

Everyone PLEASE be nice! LOL

Carol

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

Hi Carol,
Well, first off I LOVE your idea of Disneyland this summer what does everyone else think? That way no one has to have it at their house and deal with all the stress and preparation.

We could probably even get Randy Farina to be in charge since he has the most Disneyland photos of the class site. What do you say Randy? :-)

Sounds like a fun idea, and maybe some of us could stay in the hotel for a night or two as welll.

Everyone share your thoughts.

Sandra Harris (Lint)

I knew you were kidding, Lynne. Carol, I'm sorry, but I haven't pranced around anywhere for many years now. Well maybe once last year in the Golden Nugget after I won some money on a penny machine. I do recall some twisting of the rear portion of my body and a smile on Don's face. It was either cuz I was so "cute" or I had just won over three hundred dollars! Who knows? But it made him smile! Carol how short is your hair? Lynne, how's the under house spring? Phyllis, strawberry blonde would be fun. I think that was the color I was sporting at Beth's wedding (my daughter). Pat, you look girly girl to me. Talk to you all later! Sandi

Sandra Harris (Lint)

Lynne, Have you heard how the twin's Mom is doing?

03/09/09 06:54 PM #1863

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Sandy,
My hair is at neckline length in back and at my jawline in the front. It filled almost 2 dust pans full at the salon...I decided to have a professional cut my hair. My last haircut was September and I was so desperate I had my husband cut it for me (with my instructions of course). He did a pretty good job. We very rarely have time to work on each other at work so I did what I tell people to do is ask who does your hair and this by the way is a very good complement to the person you are asking. So I bit the bullet and paid $$$$ for my lovely locks.....

Thanks Peggy for the Birthday wishes but mine is in January. I updated my profile, or downdated, which ever the case on 3/8/09. I hope you're feeling better with each new day!!

And you're welcome Pat, I meant it sincerely.

Sandi,
I spoke to Lorene tonight, she has been sick with the flu all day and wasn't even able to go to the hospital to be with her mom which really made her feel horrible.
Mrs. BuSteed came thru the surgery well, they took a lot of whatever it was clogging her artery. So they are hoping that she will be feeling better real soon. She is still in ICU at this time.

Sandi, in answer to your question about pumping the water out from under the house......yep we continue 24/7.

Carol: Your hair sounds adorable, it sounds like the way my daughter in law has hers cut. I was trying to grow mine out, and wearing my baseball hat most of the time.
Then I had the dumb jury duty, and thought wow I won't be able to wear a hat in the court room so I cut it again. Then I didn't get selected for jury duty.
Everyone always tells me they love my hair cut so I will probably end up leaving it the same, but maybe not the same color, how about some hot pink on the sides?? LOL

love ya
Lynne
