Robin,
Hi, I thought your profile had said your birthday was March 8th - well duhhh on me - so I guess it was the pain meds they have me on :)
Yes, I am feeling better today, had my check up and all looks good to the doc but not to me. The 1 incision is huge (got cut in 2 places). And thank you for asking.

Hope you have a great day.

Carol I need to do SOMETHING with my hair!!!!! My real hair is down to the middle of my back, I've been taking Biotin for several years and had it trimmed only once last summer before going to see my sister in Idaho. Is your shop in Orange County? Does the man that cut your hair work in your shop? Would your guy cut my hair? I want a makeover, I think to change a little now and again can be very refreshing, like what you just did with your hair. It sounds darling and I'm scared to cut after painstakingly letting it grow, to cut but not know really how is the problem, you know? Finding a picture isn't reality in my opinion. I don't know, what do you think?

Okay Carol, get the digital out, we want to see. It sounds so cute. I can't imagine a beautician letting her hubby cut her hair. Yikes!!!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my hair. I know how fortunate I am.

Disneyland sounds wonderful to me. I haven't been there since my kids were very little. I now have my Rascal so I can get around.

Robin that would be a tough decision. I know how much patience it takes to grow your hair long.

Thanks Lynne for the update on Lorene & Maurene's mom. It sounds like she will be almost as good as new.

Robin actually the person who cut my hair is a hairdresser in another shop and she is not a he. Now don't get me wrong but from experience over the years men hairdresser have tendency to cut the hair way too short for what you are really asking. There are a lot of male hairstylist out there and some top stylist in the business are male. However I did let my poor husband cut my hair and you know what he even cut it way shorter than I ask, but I liked it. I do work in Orange county.Pictures give a hairdresser an idea of what you may be looking for. Some people have a hard time expressing their wants and we are not mind readers or Genies so a visual works well at least for me...The girl that cut my hair her names just happens to be Robin....

Classmates,

Not to worry about our flooding, we have it under control so far just by using the pump in the crawl space. Tomorrow we are going to see if we can tell how many gallons of water we are pumping out per minute.
If it starts to get ahead of us we will just buy another pump and run two hoses out to the creek. Thank you all for your notes and concerns. I am more worried about my neighbor that has all of the damage inside his basement that they just remodeled.

Good night all, talk to you tomorrow.
Lynne

On the subject of Disneyland:

Unless there's no way around it I wouldn't go on a week-end.

IF it can be before June 25, 2009: (quote)With the "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" offer, active and retired U.S. military personnel, including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard and activated members of the National Guard or Reservists, can enjoy complimentary, multi-day admission into Disney's U.S. theme parks, great rates at select Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort hotels, and additional special ticket offers for family members and friends(unquote)

My annual pass expired and Geneva's expires in June and our fun budget is going to Vegas.

Robin, I understand you need to be patient when letting hair grow out. It's a job but one good thing about hair is if you get it cut too short, it does grow.

Lynne, your pictures are beautiful! It was 74 here today. I'm not bragging, just, wow what a difference, huh?!!

Gotta go get ready to watch The Real Housewives of NY. It just always surprises the heck out of me how these people spend their money. Maybe they should donate some of it to the little Octomom. She could use it. Wow there is a whole nother subject. See ya, Sandi

Just heard from Maurene, her mom came thru the surgery ok. She still has a leaky valve, and her pulse is 122 so they need to keep a close eye on her.

Maurene said Darla sent her mom a beautiful handmade card and her mom just loved it. Thank you from the BuSteed's Darla.

Lorene is very sick, hasn't been able to see her mom since before the surgery, please keep her in your prayers.

OK Classmates.....you're not going to believe this one but it's actually -3 degrees out right now. Yes, that is minus 3, just threw another log on the fire....burrrr
and we had beautiful sunshine today. This has been one of the strangest winters in North Idaho that I've ever seen.
So, anyone tired of the heat time to come up and see me.
LOL

Those pictures are gorgeous.

I'm not sure I could live in that cold. I love the occasional snow we get at our place but I'm not sure I could deal with it every day.

Keep the pictures coming. The camera takes great pictures, no I'm sure it is the photographer. LOL

Sandy we are heading to Phoenix Friday for the week-end for our grandson's wedding. What is the weather forecast...Is it shorts weather or jacket weather?

Marsha Miller (Jaehnig)

Hey Lynne here is a good one for peeling your Idaho Potatoes. I haven't tried it yet but it sure looks easy.

Carol and Marsha,
You guys are too funny with my Idaho potatoes. I have to tell you both to try the trick with the ice water because it does work. LOL
I appreciate you thinking of your ole Pirate Spud!
Love you both,
Lynne

PS: Update on BuSteed's, Mrs. BuSteed is home and doing better. Lorene on the other hand is still very sick, but refusing to go to the doctor. Maurene called Lorene's husband last night to try to get him to take her. So I will keep you posted on that one.

Carol, Today you could of worn shorts, in fact my daughter did with a tank top. She had outside noon-duty on the "big kids" playground. Lots of sunshine and blue skies. I think it was 72 today. Suppose to be that for the next couple of days, but ....don't forget the jacket. You never know about the weather around her. Hope you have a good time at the wedding. I heard Don talking to a friend about taking some days off in June to take his wife (ME) to Las Vegas. So it looks like I will probably be there for the mixer unless something stupid happens!

03/12/09 11:52 PM #1883

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Thanks Sandy for the weather update. I guess I'll throw in some shorts for good measure. We plan on catching a possible Dodger game on Sunday and come home on Monday. Looking forward to getting away. Not sure if we will have the laptop with us to check this site to make sure everyone is being to on another....

Lynne Scales (Thurman)

OK guys, you are starting to make me want to come back to some warm weather and that's NEVER happened to me before this year. Naturally, we have never had this much snow on the ground in March since I have lived here.

It's 40 degrees today and the sunshine is out, but our pump continues to pump water out from under the house. It's amazing, where is all this water coming from?
They county and the road dept. have come out and they are all scratching their heads, who is going to take the blame for the re-construction of the main road that connects to our street? Hummm so for now it's just pass the buck folks.

Looks like you will have a nice turn out for your mini reunion in June, I really hope you all have a great time and don't forget those of us who wanted to be there with you.

Love
Lynne

JOKE FOR THE DAY, I hope it's in good taste :-) and doesn't offend anyone.

Denny's has a new menu item in CA called the "Octuplet Grand Slam" you get 14 eggs, 14 strips of bacon and 14 pancakes, and the guy sitting next to you gets to pay for it.

BAD LYNNE

Here is how I heard it:

Suleman Breakfast Special
8 eggs, no sausage & the person at the next tables pays for it.

I think you got the name wrong, it is called the NEW CALIFORNIA SLAM because we are all going to be paying for it.
Have a good weekend

Ok Randy, that one works too. Glad to see you are still out there alive and well.

Seems like many of you guys have been hiding out over the past few weeks.

I watched Dr. Phil the other night since the Octomom was on his show. He and Gloria Allred have got the Angels in Waiting (nurses and nannies, etc.) to take care of the babies in 2 shifts of twelve. It will cost 135,000.00 a month to care for them. They are counting on private donations to fund this task. She is also getting new carpet, hardwood flooring, new nursery(the whole living room will be the nursery) paint, and blah, blah it goes on. I still think she will be pulling her hair out. Maybe Bill Gates or Warren Buffet could donate some of their cash? Anyway.......
