Most significant events in you life

Married with five kids. All grown and have great lives/ careers of their own.
I really enjoy working in health fields, and keep thinking its time to think about retiring--- but instead continue to explore more areas of work.
I like to travel, and am quite active (for my age), also creative and manage to get paid to travel.
I live in Dallas, do some teaching of medical hypnosis, and see patients in a part time private practice. Husband, Alan, still also works part time retired from his Neonatology position but still sees well babies.
Productivity still makes me feel good.
I never learned to speak Spanish "like a native" although I attempted for years to gain that skill.

School Story

I was on the bottom of the ladder on the badmitton team.
I worked in the cafeteria for two years, and loved it.
I was sent home from school for wearing a shirt that couldn't tuck in( so didnt come back that day.)
I had horrible resentment over the armed security guards that patrolled the grounds.
Favorite Teachers---- Tom Thorpe physics,
Joe Barragon - Spanish
Big Z Zimmerman Geometry
Still Remember
-- losing a a daily battle to stay awake in Mr. Hoels history class
.--- Hearing "I want to Hold Your Hand" piped in the cafeteria over lunch, and realizing instantly that the Beatles would change the world.
---- hearing the news over the intercom of the JFK assassination
--- feeling really proud to be a member of the school that build the Foucault Pendulum
-- Pep rallies "Lean to the left, lean to the right, stand up, sit down, fight fight fight"

Words of wisdom

My dear aunt taught me to reflect before speaking about someone else
"Is it True?
Is it Kind?
Is it Necessary?" if not, shut up.

My grandpa (in law) taught me
"Be Happy --- its the most important thing"

My Dad taught me
"Curiosity is the follower of today, the leader of tomorrow".

I figured out on my own --- Stay connected, or build new connections. They sustain you for a lifetime.

I am so sad to learn of Sam's passing.  He was such a great friend to everyone.  Always kind and knew how to use his resources in a loving humanitarian way.

I remember the shock and surprise of his unexpected death.   How sad it was to see his empty chair in the clossroom, and the sorrow of knowing that the family he loved so deeply was grieving him with so much pain.   It reminded me then how fleeting our time on earth is.  he used his time in good ways, expressing love and kindness all around

Hi Joanne So wonderful to see your picture. I really enjoyed your friendship in HighSchool, and learned a lot about Jewish ways from you and Gail and Leone. Came in handy as I ended up marrying a Jewish fellow --- so I had a bit of a point of reference. How are you? I was really sad not to be able to attend the reunion, but it seems like it was a fun time. Fondly

Dear Janet,  I remember both you and Gene.  Arent you twins?

He was always so softspoken and gentlemanly --- I  felt that he must have learned that from having a sister so close. I didnt realize he was a dancer,--- maybe he wasnt back then.    Looking back, I still remember how even keeled and pleasant he always was   never ruffled even by tough assignments, and confusing homewor,.

It is heartbreaking to lose a sibling, and especially when the relationship is close.  You are on my mind.  God bless you,  and him.  Roxanna

I cannot come to the Reunion because my son gets married in Louisville on the same date. I will really miss being there. But i am pleased with this chance to touch base with my long lost friends and people in my life. Thanks for showing your profiles and updates.

Jill and I were both semi-serious students  but we brought out the wild side in each other.   She and I used to ditch class and go to Orange Julius for a long lunch.   She was tall, graceful. pretty, and one of the sweet/smartest people I hung out with.  I felt very priviledged to have her for a friend, and still feel that way.
