Let's see, '67-'69, DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana. Transferred to Pitt, graduated '71, BA, philosophy, Cum Laude. '71-'74, U.S. Army, enlisted, no Vietnam, thank God, last 15 months stationed in Pforzheim, Germany. After my Honorable discharge, backpacked by myself 30 days in Europe, from Copenhagen to Barcelona, then to Cornell Law School.

Graduated Cornell, moved to DC. Started with a firm, then to the Air Line Pilots Association Legal Dept., the union for the pilots at most US airlines, '79-89. Then to a small union-side labor firm, Connerton, Ray and Simon, '89-'98. Then to Koonz, McKenney, Johnson, DePaolis & Lightfoot, a personal injury firm '98-'05. In 2005, I started my own solo practice, Law Office of Daniel S. Kozma.

I am a trial lawyer, many lead-paint poisoning cases, employment law, including race, sex, age discrimination, employee benefits, disability and pension claims, tenure denials and disputes, class actions, False Claims Act, etc. Four jury verdicts over $1.5 million.

Met my wife, Lynne, in '83 on vacation at Club Med in Cancun. She lived in San Francisco at the time, where I had a case. She moved to DC in '84 and we married '85. Adopted Stephen, dob 1/7/90, in Budapest, Hungary, and Alyssa, dob 4/5/94, in Spokane, Washington.

Stephen is a quadriplegic, seriously disabled with cerebral palsy, and lived with us until September 2021, when we moved him to a group home. We still bring him home almost every weekend. Alyssa graduated from college, is a teacher in the Arlington Public Schools and lives nearby. Lynne is retired, but I'm still working, although I have decided to retire this year, in September, 2024. Lynne and I have been blessed with good health, so far!

We love DC, our kids are doing fine and so are we!!

But I'm still a fan of the Steelers, Pens and Buccos!!
