August 28, 1959 - April 2, 2025

 

Jackie Denise Peay passed away on April 2, 2025 at her residence at Solista Senior Living Community in Orem, Utah. She was born the fourth daughter to Lynn Elwin Peay and LaVerne Carter Peay on August 28, 1959 in Provo, Utah.

Jackie attended Provo City Schools. She worked at Signetics, she waitressed and then worked at North American Manufacturing.

She loved all animals but especially cats. She had a tender heart for any stray that came around. Growing up on a farm she helped raise many animals by bottle feeding. Calves, sheep, goats, kittens and even pigs. Her favorite was a piglet runt she named Elmer who grew to be huge.

Jackie from a very early age had a talent for jigsaw puzzles. She always had a puzzle on a table in her living room she was working on.

Jackie, though she never had children of her own, loved children. She was a favorite babysitter of the families in the neighborhood.

In January of 2023, she moved from the family home in Provo to The Seville (which is now Solista) in Orem. She enjoyed living there and making some new friends, the entertainment and doing some of the activities.

She was predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Lynn Elwin Peay and LaVerne Carter Peay Hancock and a brother, Robby Lynn Peay, a brother-in-law Paul Skowron and a former brother-in-law Lynn Hughes (who was always considered family).

She is survived by her sisters, Karen Louise Peay Snow (Dennis), Peggy Ann Peay Hughes and Christine Peay Skowron, 5 nephews and 6 nieces, an uncle and aunt, Darwin and Clara Carter and many cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. Condolences may be extended online at www.bergmortuary.com.
