Kenneth Leon Beane, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was born June 27, 1956, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Lloyd Beane Jr. and Frances Beane.
Kenneth was a graduate of Cave Spring High School and became a jack of all trades but was mainly known for his work as an electrician, following in family tradition. He married Eliza Beckner Beane, and together they raised two amazing children. He was a devoted member of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church from a young age. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and fishing.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Eliza; children, Latori (Lamonte) and Sherman ( Lavinia); brothers, Charles and Lloyd; sister, Rita (Clyde); sisters-in-law, Jennifer, Priscilla, Betty, Connie, Cathy, and Val (Angelo); brothers- in-law, Ted and Jeff; aunts and uncles, Phyllis and Rev. Archie; seven grandchildren; Krys, Damoni, Nore, Damian, Cincere, Octavius and Jamari; nine great-grandchildren; granddaughter- in- law, Tarizma; godson, Royal; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special nephews, Ezzard and Orenthal (OJ); special cousin, Stanley; and special high school friend, Vance.
His love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A public viewing will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Live Streaming will be available from the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel.
