Sorry Vicky, I didn't see your post about the tailgate party. I didn't mean to steal your idea! It does sound like fun though.

I thought i would share with everyone. You know we will be old one day.
Old Timer Sex
This is too funny to be dirty -enjoy!
The husband leans over and asks his wife, 'Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? We went behind the village tavern where you leaned against the back fence and I made love to you.'
'Yes', she says, 'I remember it well.'
'OK,' he says, 'How about taking a stroll around there again and we can do it for old time's sake?'
'Oh Jim, you old devil, that sounds like a crazy, but good idea!'
A police officer sitting in the next booth heard their conversation and, having a chuckle to himself, he thinks to himself, I've got to see these two old-timers having sex against a fence. I'll just keep an eye on them so there's no trouble. So he follows them.
The elderly couple walks haltingly along, leaning on each other for support aided by walking sticks. Finally, they get to the back of the tavern and make their way to the fence. The old lady lifts her skirt and the old man drops his trousers. As she leans against the fence, the old man moves in... Then suddenly they erupt into the most furious sex that the policeman has ever seen. This goes on for about ten minutes while both are making loud noises and moaning and screaming. Finally, they both collapse, panting on the ground.
The policeman is amazed. He thinks he has learned something about life and old age that he didn't know.
After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old couple struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on. The policeman, is still watching and thinks to himself, this is truly amazing; I've got to ask them what their secret is.
So, as the couple passes, he says to them, 'Excuse me, but that was something else. You must've had a fantastic sex life together. Is there some sort of secret to this?'
Shaking, the old man is barely able to reply, 'Fifty years ago that wasn't an electric fence.'

No offense to anyone, but to all of those that think they have a stressful job or work for the mental facilities within their own life. Go to the pic on my profile, it is the last one on there. I appreciate my job. LOL. Someone sent me this pic and thought i would share.

Tailgating sounds like a good idea! Sounds like a lot of people are planning on coming. For those with kids, will you be bringing them or leaving them at home?

Faye - how much do you want to know? :)

Based purely on historical cycles, the market should be heading up from here for about the next 18-24 months... but there's the dark cloud of debt that has been building at a ridiculous pace since the 1980s. There's also a school of thought that we're due for our next Great Depression (80-year cycle) which would overlay with the basic market cycle (watch out 2010-2016.) In the case of a depression, assets, stocks and real estate lose value and cash is king. The companies that fare best in a depression are the ones closest to the consumer (consumer goods instead of capital goods.) People have to eat.

I don't think the taxpayer has any idea just how much burden the government accepted for us in the last two weeks. This incredible amount of debt will largely be paid through inflation - higher gas, food, etc. The combination of the two forces - inflationary monetary policy and reckless spending by politicians with deflationary economic conditions = stagflation. In other words, things you own are worthless, and things you need are priceless.

It's not all doom and gloom - the real indicator to me is the willingness of the average person to get up and go to work on Monday. As long as people are still willing to be productive, the house of cards should stay intact. Why do you think they invented NASCAR and NFL? :) Just remember - the economic system we have is by, for and of the banks. The best thing everyone can do on a personal level is eliminate all debt in your own life.

Whew, probably more than what you wanted. Anyway, hitting the road now - we will be at the Marine Mud Run in Roanoke tomorrow in case anyone is going to be over there.

Laura: I went to Michaels today and bought 12 by 12 "Top Loading White Refills. The package states they are heavy paper scrapbook inserts and also top loading seamless clear polypropylene sheet protectors. Is that the right thing?
Let me know, I'll be back tomorrow evening. Thanks :>

Kristin FR, great pics, beautiful family. I will have to hook you up with my hubby who worked at Catawba for about 8 years.

Not bringing kids or hubby to the game...

Laura Wolfe (Campbell)

Chris A - I'll be at the mud run! However, not in a mud-running capacity. I'm official photographer for the college folks who are participating. I'm actually hoping to keep myself and the family clean, but that might not be a realistic expectation. I'll look for you! Are you running or photographing?

Annette, I think those pages will be fine. We can get together so I can look at them and I will buy the books that will work with them. How does that sound?

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Jolee - as our group apparently is growing by leaps and bounds, not to mention that other classes may be joining in...what do you think about having a tailgate starting around 5 or so at the high school and have everyone bring their own food/drink, then we can all mingle around and visit and not have to worry about time management, nor would anyone feel as if they need to organize something on a large scale. Just a thought.

And for a memorial for Mike, Tonya and Rusty, maybe we could all go down on the field or around the flag pole ahead of time and say a few words.

Just spoke with my brother. He said Breanna Vassar sent the class of 87 an e-mail regarding the Homecoming Game. I know she was a big part of their reunion committee as well. She is probably the best contact for planning purposes. If anyone wants to get in touch w her, let me know. She just lives a couple blocks over. Have a great weekend.

What do SOL's stand for? Here in NC we have EOG's which stands for End of Grade Tests.

About the kids not having lunch $$. In our county, they receive a "vegetable plate". That was started because so many slack parents never re-paid. I have seen teachers pay for the kids as well. Our lunchroom people are contracted out from a company who makes a profit & they make me so mad. They will charge a full lunch price to a child & allow them to have one food item on their tray. I have seen it! The teachers catch it sometimes & make the kids get all the food. When we were in school, the lunch ladies put everything on our tray-no questions asked-the way it should be!

Tailgating is fine w/ me for Friday before the game. Good idea about using the Jr. High lot too. Will I be able to bring my margaritas in an empty orange juice container though?

Kelly-Good news about the job change!

Kristen F- Welcome & love the family pictures.

Okay all, I need some help. This memorial service is taking on some new dimensions that would be awesome if I can get them all done, but I am worried I will not be able to get it all done alone. Asking for some volunteers:

1.) Faye~Was it you who called the high school about the game? If so, I need to talk to you...I want to see if they will let us do something out on the field prior to the game starting...but it has to be timed PERFECTLY and it has to be before dark...I'll call you....

2.) I would like to (REALLY LIKE TO)put tothether THREE 4x6 nice little albums of all of these pictures we are posting of Mike...and any others ANYONE MAY HAVE. I want to make one for his mom and dad, one for each sister...Katrina and Sonja....I think they are coming and I want something for them. If anyone else can think of some way to personalize something with all of our names on it...let me know....I'm having brain farts....

3.) I am putting together a memorial service "program." I have bought them but need CONTENTS. If anyone would like to speak, say something, sing something, write something, anything...please let me know. This is about us and Mike...how much we love him. I want this service to be a tribute to him, and to be HAPPY. While I know we are all sad, we can DO THIS! Yes, there will still be tears shed, but I want this to work. To work for his family, to work for his friends, to work for anyone who knew Mike.

4.) Does anyone have a video recorder who could bring a tripod and tape this for those who could not be here?

5.) Chris Akers~Will you be in and would you consider taking awesome pics like you have for years? I will be glad to reimburse you for anything that I can.

6.) Does anyone know of anyone else in the community that Mike had ties with, was a role model to him, etc., who would like to be invited...I would certainly like to include them and maybe make them a part of the tribute...just pass that information along.

Also, the Veterinarian, Sabra Lucas, has been helping me with portions of this...which is very kind indeed. She is helping me to achieve major, major goals that will set this memorial off like none others. I hope people will acknowledge that and thank her. She will be there. Others in Mike's family may be there as well. They are hearing about this and want to be a part of this, which is very special on our part. (to be blunt though...no ex wives allowed!)

Okay....my brain is on overdrive...we have so much to be proud of and thankful for as a group. We are talented in many ways...and I need you all to share some talent with me. Do not have fear of embarrassment or anything else. Hell, if I can stand in front of all of you and no one laughed at me...then I feel confident we will all stand together? Got it?!?!?

Talk to me.....

Jolee,
Had a thought...if it's going to be an issue for all of us to be on the football field prior to the game, does the Jr High have a field? With what appears to be several classes with attendance if we shifted up towards the jr high, then we could contain our gathering and memorial service aside from all the prior to game happenings. I was thinking of all the additional people with floats, and band members, etc that have to be there early, I wouldn't want that to interrupt our memorial. There again just a thought.

I have a small compact digital camcorder I could bring, but no tripod.

Vicky,

Yes, the memorial service will have to be at another location at the school...and we possibly could use the Junior High area....however, for the last part of the service, we would all walk down to the High School, come out on the field as a unit...and then one person is going to make a brief speech regarding why we are out there...then, we are done...but yes, we will have the memorial in one place and then go down to the field. (Hopefully)
