Kristen- I don't think Laura and I even hung out long enough for pictures with our dates!

Kristen Witt (Bray)

I left mine at prom. He was "dancing" out on the dance floor like an idiot. White boy had no rhythm. I was so embarrassed that even my brother felt bad for me and took me home early.

Kelly,
Girl, you guys come on up to our neck of the woods 12/28. GO PHILLIES !! We make it a point not to travel over the holidays. When the grandparents hit retirement, it's far easier for the one(or two) of them to come up here than it is for me to haul the "Fuller - Party of Six" down there. I think I know exactly where your Granddad is too. We'll hook up at Homecoming and make some plans...Maybe Kristen and Steve and me and John and you guys can all go out.

Kids are doing much better, Zach actually made it thru school today...got the call from Jess though, truck had a flat tire in the HS parking lot...great...had her friend take her to the house for the air compressor and fill the tire up enough to get to Walmart to have it plugged....why is it that stuff like this happens when you are holding down the fort alone for the week? Any day I expect the monsoon to cause the roof to leak...(which only happens when John is out of town).

Only 18 more days !!!

I was sad and shocked to hear of Mike's passing. I think the memorial would be a great idea, even though I didn't really hang with Mike and his friends in school, it is still a shock when you hear about anybody we went to school with dying so young. I can only wish his children all the best and to tell them so sorry about his untimely death.

Ah the senior prom...that was when mom was at the height of the whole "judge, jury, and warden" time. Soooo, I had one friend come pick me up at home, take horribly awkward pics in front of my warden, then he dropped me off at jason's. I was not supposed to be even SEEN with jason...and when you look in the annual..one of the biggest photos is of me and him. The next day I got kicked out. May 8th 1988. Mother's day. Messed up didn't I?

Kelly...Glad to hear Andy made it through Homecoming...you didn't find any "shoestrings" in his pockets did you? Jolee said some ladies were missing some!
Stefanie...Ahhhhhh! Rick Springfield!
Okay ladies...I found some old stuff of mine wrapped in an Ormond bag! How many of you remember that store?! Back when Crossroads mall was the place to be!

D.J. Greg (AKA Casey Kasem)- Thank you for the lyrics. I love Ricky. I remember going to his concert in the 80's with Amy Ward and her mother. Ricky and I lost touch a couple years back when I was traveling a lot w/ my job, but I hear he is touring again. I just wish he would have been more understanding w/ my travel schedule. Kool and The Gang, love them too! I saw them yrs ago at Salem Stadium. Throw some of their lyrics in here too. I say we have an 80's party and play nothing but 80's music. Greg, you can D.J. and the dress code, including hair and makeup (blue and/or purple eyeshadow up to the eyebrows), must also be 80's. That shouldn't be too hard considering that style is coming back around about now. I gotta find my Chic Jeans for that one and work on the big hair.

Vicky- I'm gonna check out his tour schedule and see if he is playing any more shows. I would love to go as well. He looks exactly the same. I saw him on the Morning Show a couple months back and he sang Jessie's Girl. He is still hot, hot, hot!!! Speaking of HOT, I'm extremely upset about Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johanssen getting married this past weekend!

Shannon- I will see what I can work out with my hairdresser. I will have to fly him in from New York but I'm sure I can work it out. lol. Actually, I think you and I have a similar cut, don't we? Mine may be a bit longer in the front but overall it's pretty close isn't it? I love the pic.s on your profile. You have a beautiful family and your girls are absolutely adorable! I look forward to seeing you at the game.

Jolee- You should come by sometime to meet my boys. They sound a bit like Cujo if they don't know you. They won't tear into you like Cujo but Tanner takes charge of the property when I'm gone. After you meet them, you can just come on by whenever you want, even when I'm not here, and take a nap on the couch. They love company. I don't even lock my doors bc of them. Hope there aren't any burglars out there reading this. Oh well, there's nothing worth taking if there is. Just don't take my shoes, please.

Oh, while I was driving today, I heard a song by Journey. Wasn't one of their songs our Senior Prom Theme Song or was I just drunk? No, I'm sure I wasn't since I wasn't 21 then. Hey Greg, can you check into that? Thanks DJ GT.

Everyone have a great Tuesday!!!

Carla- Ormonds was the best! Oh and what about Brooks and Sidneys a couple doors down. Ormonds was the best for the ruffled, prince like looking shirts.

I'M UP! I'M UP!!! The things we do for our kids...Kenzie and I have been outside to let the dog and kitty out...it's eerie outside our house at 4am! (I confess, I didn't make it until midnight though...shhhh!). I'm kind of nervous about today...this was where she had damage in her electrical system when she was in the hospital in July...I just don't want my kid to have problems...but we'll take whatever comes with a PEZ dispenser of Xanax.

Stef~ I truly may take you up on your couch offer sometimes. I can't even begin to tell you how hard it is to not crash and burn after getting up at 445 and being on a floor with 10 brand new students. I love them dearly...they are soooo eager to learn, but my body and brain just aren't what they used to be.

Stephanie - Too bad we didn't discuss Rick Springfield sooner...he was in VA Beach this weekend... darnit, and I could have gotten us a place to crash and everything...seems he was in my neck of the woods a few months ago, like an hour from me. Unless you're willing to travel to Nevada, California or south Florida, we won't see him this year. :(

Vicky...uh hum.... Who has the best FFL team :) ?

Stephanie writes to us...

Dear Casey Kasem,

Lately I've been cathcing up with some old friends from the greatest high school senior class ever. We've been talking about music, school, shoestrings, and everything you can imagine. During this time I've come to realize that I really miss Rick Springfield and I wish it could have worked out for us. Will you please play a song by Journey? It would probably be something from their 88 album. Thank you.

Well here goes Stephanie. This long distance dedication to Rick Springfield. From their 1988 Greatest Hits album, here's Journey with Open Arms.

Lying beside you
Here in the dark
Feeling your heart with mine
Softly you whisper
You're so sincere
How could our love be so blind
We sailed on together
We drifted apart
And here you are
By my side

So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you'll see
What your love means to me
Open arms

Living without you
Living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
Wanting you near
How much I wanted you home

But now that you've come back
Turned night into day
I need you to stay

So now I come to you
With open arms
Nothing to hide
Believe what I say
So here I am
With open arms
Hoping you'll see
What your love means to me
Open arms

I think Greg's got a new gig. I swear I was reading that opener with Kasey's voice in my head, weren't you all?

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Greg --- you are the bomb. You definitely missed your calling!!!!!!

Stephanie -- I, too, had a thing for Rick. But, once he became famous, I didn't exist to him anymore. I had no choice but to move on. With a broken heart, needless to say. The last time that I saw him, he was on stage in Roanoke. Til Tuesday had just left the stage. I saw her give him that "come hither" look. After that, I never saw him again. It has been many years now, and I still have that memory of him. His thick hair, his fine tuned body. So, girl, reach out to him. Go for it. Maybe this time, he will be ready to settle down!!!!!

Yes kelly I could hear KC. I was reading it to kenzie in my best voice. So funny!

Kenzie died laughing at the shoe string part.

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Angleo - I do of course...you know I would have wiped the floor up with your team had I played Farve on Sunday...my loss maybe....but it's only week 5... Besides I have Dent this week, go ahead and chalk another win in my column.

09/30/08 05:00 PM #482

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Jolee - I hope things are going well for Kenzie today. I too was up at 4:45am...you should have called. Traveling again and never sleep good the first day or two. Moving to yet another town/hotel tomorrow, so the pattern begins again.

I too heard Casey's voice while reading Greg's post. Too funny!! I never had much of a thing for Rick, but what about the lead guy from AHA...I always pretended I was the cartoon girl in the "Take on Me" video!

Missy WL - I think I can still do the chorus dance steps to the Jets...remember that?!?!

Salem Lunch Girls - I sure have missed ya'll. There is a very slight chance I can be back home late Thursday night. If so, anyone up for lunch on Friday??

Vick - glad the kids are better, sorry about the flat. Tammy Webb Chittum had a flat one day after school, we thought we would change it ourselves. Daniel Bond found us in the parking lot jacking up the wrong side of the car!!

Have a good night all...

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Greg T-The long distance dedication to Rick from Stephanie was perfect! I read it in Casey's voice too. Look at Carla Boyd's profile if you have not already. She has a picture of Miss Gregory's History class from 11th grade on it.

Kelly-Glad Andy had fun at his dance.

Stephanie-You are too kind to say that my hair is similar to yours! I wish! We will have tons of fun Oct. 17 weekend. Can't wait.

The Rick Springfield concert was the best. Summer of '85 before we all entered into 10th grade at the big high school, right? My babysitter in 3rd or 4th grade watched General Hospital when he was on it.

The EEG was negative for any further electrical changes or problems!! WHEW!!! So it all went well. We came home and crashed for about an hour...too many things to do to sleep...rugs to wash, floors to sweep, shingles to put on...ha ha!

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Trina - Jess had a friend bring her home to get our air compressor and back to the school to inflate the tire...her "friend" was going to help her. Fortunately it held enough air to get to Walmart, dropped it off and her "friend" took her home....I still don't quite get it how she knew she had a flat 3 hours before school was over...and how it just so happens she and her "friend" could miss the rest of the day....hmmmmmm, do I hear "skipping"??? Do our kids really think they are pulling anything over on us...been there done that.
Too funny about jacking the car up on the wrong side.

Speaking of Daniel Bond, does anyone know what happened to him?

Jolee - So glad that Kenzie is fine. Hope you got those shingles put on and the rugs washed...I just did the floors and washed the truck...who says you can't wash a car in the dark.

So is the general consensus that we all read Greg's post in our Casey voice?

Ya'll have a good night....I'm going to go match the mega load of socks I have been putting off doing since Spring...gotta love flip flop weather.

17 DAYS TO GO !!! Woo Hoo

Sean - Thanks for posting that picture of Mike with his dog, that really seems to capture him.

And, Tracey is beautiful :-)

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

Jolee...Soooooo glad Kenzie got good news! And I needed to hear something good tonight...very bad day! I need to have some fun REALLY bad! I am anxious for Homecoming...just don't be surprised if I show up in a white coat with the arms tied behind me! If that happens...please someone at least help me get my NHS sweatshirt on over it!!! Too much stress in our house and not enough time to re-organize or clean anything! I'd feel sooo much better if I could...say... re-sort the medicine drawer or clean the garage. Right now I would be satisfied to make a dent in the laundry pile.
I do find the thought of Casey Kasem's voice rather calming! Had not thought about him in a while...but could just hear him when I read Greg's words! I guess now we have Delila on the radio.

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you who had pictures of Mike. Seeing how young everyone was back then sure brought back alot of wonderful memories from school. I hope to be able to make it to homecoming. Oh and Jolee, it is a wonderful thing you guys are doing in trying to get us together for homecoming. It really is appreciated.

For those of you that are Rick Springfield fans...he is still (or back) on General Hospital. I loved that concert in 85! I remember the big blow up rocket that went out into the crowd. Does anyone else remember that?

Trina...I am not sure about lunch on Friday, Let me know when and where and I will try to be there.

10/01/08 08:14 AM #490

Greg Terry

First a grand apology. I spelled Stefanie's name incorrectly. I don't think I ever knew it was spelled this way. I think I even spelled it wrong on the check yes or no letter I sent her back in 6th grade. I guess that explains why she didn't go out with me. Well OK we know that's not the reason! Just Kidding.

Jolee - So glad to hear everything went OK. I know you must feel like a ton of bricks has been lifted off of you. Now get some sleep.

Missy - I don't remember the rocket but I remember the two big giant floor to cieling TVs on stage and they actually worked and showed him back stage coming through the Civic Center Tunnel all the way to the stage. I thought that was amazing for 1985!

Did anybody else notice Northside won again this week. We might actually have a chance to win the homecoming game this year.

Take care.
