Vicky, by "dry game" did you mean no alcohol or no rain? Because… I was planning on packing a few cold ones for the event. I thought that was what tailgating was all about, drinking and eating. I may even attempt to make the margarita mix that Shannon so graciously gave out. That sounded good! Although i do realize we are in a school parking lot and may need to be a little more discreet. Since we are riding together, what do you think?

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Jolee-The slide show of Mike is beautiful. You did a fantastic job. I loved each picture. The stars twinkling around made it extra special. He even had a picture of Miss Gregory! Mike must have been her favorite because she would never pose for a picture that I knew of-even for the yearbook. Your time is very much appreciated. Thank you!

All you Roanoke people, will you give us ideas for Saturday night? I have not lived there since '95 so I am out of the loop on places. Of course no matter where we go we are going to have fun. We are the best NHS class in history after all.

FOUR more days!

Carla,
All I can see in my survey is who registered they are coming and then in a separate place the breakdown of sizes. I am going to have to click on each person's individual response to see what size they picked. Hell, I could measure people quicker than that! But bear with me...I'll gitter done!

Thanks Shannon...I LOVED the pic with Ms. Gregory too! So long ago....

I'm getting out of here at the college early...but not meeting Mr. JP until 5'ish. Not sure what goodies we are going to pick up...but I am always anally early...so I am half tempted to block off a parking lot with cones...do you think they would get pissed at the school? Ha ha....

Oh, and I did thoroughly tick Kenzie off...yes, she goes to Salem...but she is going to Northside's homecoming dance...with her friend...a girl...anyhoo...I told her that "we" were thinking about crashing the homecoming dance and showing those "kids" how to move...she believed me...wouldn't speak to me for hours she was soooo mad! I LOVED it!

LOL, that is funny Jolee!
And let me add that you did a great job on the pics in the photo bucket and we all appreciate the time and effort you have put in to it, as well as everything else you do with keeping the class of 88 together. Kodos! I guess what they say is still true the class of 88 is great! Or as Tony the tiger would say Theeerree Greaaaaat!

Shannon, as far as going out in Rke is concerned. I live here but i dont go out much to the bars. We usually hang out at friends houses and such, you dont have to drive that way. But i will do some research as to what is going on in Rke this weekend and think of a few places. I know there are other people who can help me out on this. Also, what kind of a group are we talking? Can we get everyone that is interested in going out Saturday to put it up on the message board. Again, with the large group it may be difficult to handle. Places i like to go are Brambleton Deli, Martins or Awful Arthurs. Anywhere is cool, some of the places are filled with a real young crowd though.

Kristen FR - I for one would say "dry" as to not draw any attention to ourselves, but like I said, Susie has the cooler, so bring your goods :) just as long as it's not Peach Schnapps...ugh...I think I just vurped a little. Any thoughts on what you want for dinner Friday? We absolutely have NOTHING in the way of fast food in Morgantown, so I am literally up for anything.

Oh, Jolee, I got a XL whatever, if that helps.

I'm up for Saturday evening.

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Jolee -- I ordered a t-shirt and CD. :)

What if...no matter where we all wind up parking...we make a plan to meet at the flagpole (or the front door) of the high school between 6:30 and 7pm? Does anyone actually plan on watching the game...or are we just "hanging out?"

I will find out more about the tour....stay tuned....

Hi all- I am so lost about what we are doing. My computer has been on the fritz and I've been so slammed I haven't been on this thing anyway. So, I've gotten that we are tailgating now, rather than doing the restaurant thing. Which is fine. I'll have my whole crew with me. So, I'll hang and see how much they can hang with me. I may have to leave and take my little one to my parents house. The fun thing for me is that my children are in the Roanoke County Classic Soccer Tournament the rest of the weekend, and of course the boys first game at Green Hill Park is at 8 AM on Saturday- I have to leave by 7 to get them there and all that fun stuff. Both of my boys and Marlee are in it, so I'm living at the park the rest of the weekend. Oh well, you can do anything for a weekend. Sleep is overrated anyway- LOL. Those of you who get it, tell me what its like again. I've forgotten- HA

I'm sorry the Memorial for Mike has been cancelled. Does anyone mind sharing why? I understand that thing are hard to put together. Just curious. I miss you all so much- I finally think I'm getting enough help in my classroom. I walked into school last Wed. and my principal said, "We are leaving at 8 AM to go to an IEP meeting, you're getting a new child in your class." So, I've spent the rest of the time revamping what we do to incorportate another little person. I should be getting a one on one for my really busy little man. He's a human tornado, and I just adore him. Once he gets a one on one, then I'm getting another child. So, who knows, I may not chat with you all on this thing again until Christams- LOL, no it'll work out just fine.

Thanks, by the way to all of you who've asked about my Daddy and kept him in your prayers. He's doing very well, all over his complications, and the kids are even staying with him again after school. They are like his little nurses, and keep him company. It helps everyone out. Take Care everybody- HUGS and Blessings to all.

Michelle Kelley (Murray)

Hye- just letting you know Jolee, I went back and saw what you explained about cancelling the memorial, so you don't have to go through that again. I have just found that when there are roadblocks, that its for a reason. I loved Kristen's idea, and I think it would be a wonderful thing to do. Grief has no time line, so its understandable some may not be ready.

I haven't been able to take him off my cell phone yet. Can't do it. Just know we love you and you make very wise decisions. You are a precious lady!! Thank you so much by the way for visiting my daddy. I was so touched you went by to see him when he was in the hospital. It meant a lot to all of us. Happy Day.

10/14/08 09:27 AM #777

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Michelle KM~ Thank you for the kind words...wow, very sweet. And unfortunately, with a divorce under my belt, I cannot attest to always making wise decisions...but I do try to please everyone...it honestly is a flaw.

I'm so glad your dad is back watching his grandbabies...it was all he talked about when I got to visit with him and your mom. I have students on that floor so when I saw his name, I had to go in and speak. And if you will remember back, I recall a certain blonde angel coming to see me when I was at my lowest and my daughter was in the hospital. There you were. There were actually very few who did that. A mom never forgets those who are especially good/bad to her kids.

Love you Michelle!

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

Kristen WB...you ordered a large t-shirt right? Or was it a medium?

10/15/08 02:22 AM #781

Tony Bond

I guess you could call me a ghost reader as I have been getting caught up by reading everyone's posts... I am working Friday night so I will not be there at the game, but I have been barbacking @ Martin's on Friday and Saturday nights so if you guys want to stop by on Friday night we have Jubeus playing...

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Hi Daniel!!

(Do you go by Daniel still?) So many people have changed around their names since we graduated. I love Martins! What type of band is playing Friday night?

10/15/08 09:51 AM #783

Greg Terry

I think some of us may be in the witness protection program. Or they should be! Hee Hee.

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Where are you Stefanie? If you are on tour with Rick in an RV/Tour Bus you better hurry back before Friday!

10/15/08 11:01 AM #785

Kristen Witt (Bray)

Carla --- I am pretty sure that I ordered a large, but I can still use a medium. I just wanted something big enought to put a long-sleeve shirt underneath it if I wanted to. I haven't sent the check because I thought that I was coming in. So, how do I do this? Do I send a check to you for the shirt and send a check to Jolee for the CD? I can do whatever is convenient!!!!

Stef --- girl, are you still catching up on your sleep or what?

For those of you out there, Susie's dad had surgery yesterday, so please keep him and her family in your thoughts and prayers. It was knee surgery, and I heard that everything went great!

10/15/08 11:16 AM #786

Greg Terry

Kristen - Thanks for letting us know about Susie's dad. I will definitely keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Shannon - Stef must have taken that job at 7-Eleven. I guess that means that we all have to go over there after the football game to get free slurpee's. You don't mind do ya Stef?

Stef - How are you coming with those NHS 88 bearskin rugs? Are those going to be available to purchase this Friday? ;-)

Ok, I am going to start a fire by bringing up a "hot topic". Does anyone watch the NEW 90210 on Tuesday nights? Okay, well I normally don't, but when I was feeding Jacob last night, it happened to be on that channel and I didn't have the remote close by to change the channel. I saw something that really disturbed me. Maybe I am just getting too old and not "hip" anymore. Okay, so here was this girl trying to find this guy. She was looking for him in the parking lot of the school. She found him in his car, and he had a "strange" look on his face. Then all of a sudden this girl pops up out of his lap. And we all know what she was doing! How can this be aired on television during the 8pm hour? This shouldn't have even been on the air, and this program is for those in middle and high schools. My kids, 7 and 8 years old, saw this! Thank God that they don't know enough to start asking questions, but they figured it must have been something since I gasped and Steve was like "Whoa". What is wrong with this picture? Or do you think that I am overreacting? (My husband thinks that I am!) Please, I would love to hear your opinion on this, no matter what it is. But, please be kind in your response, since I tend to get offended easily!!!!

10/15/08 11:34 AM #788

Vicky Lakes (Fuller)

Kristen - you have every concern to be spun up over it...to share a real life story, John's cousin who lives in NJ has a daughter who is now 17...when she was in Middle School she stopped letting her ride the bus...apparently the same acts were going on in the back of the bus...if you can belive that one.

Faye Sowers (Crute)

Kristen WB - yes I saw the episode and after asking my husband what it meant....kidding people :)........I think it was tasteless but apparently from what I hear these days teeanagers think oral sex is not really sex so it seems to be going on more than it did in our school days....(didn't I hear it was illegal somewhere probably from the same person who told me it was against the law to put a knife in the ketchup bottle)...... now keep in mind I have a sheltered 8 year old daughter who will continue to be sheltered but as a concerned parent I think the word needs to be out that this is a growing problem but of course that would have to take a backseat to SOLS....:( who said I light the match now.......

Do you really get offended easily or were you joking? I am a brick wall apparently since I have a friend who on a daily basis calls me her fat a.. sister and hollars it for everyone to hear. I wish I would have been that oblvious in school why is it we really don't focus on what people think as we grow older? not to be hard or anything but I can shrug things off not that use to would have sent me into hysterics...........except politics which I seem to still be sensitive to.......enjoy those tax breaks you are getting now people because those taxes are going to be killing us come Nov if old big ears blowhard gets it........no pressure......go McCain/Palin......:)

10/15/08 12:04 PM #790

Carla Boyd (McCabe)

Kristen WB...I have a large t-shirt ready to send to you next week, when I mail all of those that are not picked up this weekend. I'm going to try to find out how much it is going to be to ship them. More later...
I agree that stuff like that should not be on TV...but I (like Vicky) hear that it goes on in the back of school buses! I will probably continue to pick my kids up forever! A couple times this summer we saw that show "Swingtown" (Faye...see hubby for explanation!:)) and I was horrified at what I saw...all I could think was how am I going to explain that if my kids see it?!
Stefanie...wow, you are a busy gal, what with the Happy's job and 7-11. I hope you and Rick can fit us in this weekend!
