Why are people so freaking mean? Mean people just suck! I mean what is wrong with being direct? I mean you know I am direct sorry if it offends but at least I let it all hang out why go around with a knife for someone's back I can't play that stupid game.............okay I am over it........hope everyone else is having a great day!

Yes Erik...jump on the band wagon...everyone is on Facebook. Hope you had a Happy Birthday..wished your brother a Happy Birthday (via Facebook). I thought of you the other day while shopping with my oldest for prom stuff...the song Apple Bottom Jeans came on and for the life of me I couldn't stop laughing, primarily because of the story you shared...Prom Dress $300, Hair and Makeup $80, embarrassing your child in front of the whole store...priceless :p

Yea Chris, where are the pics? Some of us would like to see what we had to miss out on.

Speaking of pics Jolee, did you ever download the one of us from lunch? Now that I have cleaned off all the junk from the front of my fridge, I need a new picture...reunion pic was getting old. Thanks buddy.

And by the way...Happy Nurses Day :p

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Happy Belated Birthday to those who have celebrated the last week. Only been gone a week, but feels like a month. Got in last night - trip was AMAZING!! Really sad I didn't get to share it with my Robbie. Probably some of the most romantic places on the planet. Portofino, Italy was my absolute favorite!! It was a real dream vacation (with a little work mixed in) with amazing food and entertainment. They flew the 3 Tenors in one night from Florence...for a private performance. Never really been into Opera music, but sitting 25 feet away from some of the worlds greatest talent can change your mind!!

Got a political lesson from Edward Rollins, Senior Political Analyst for CNN...he was the guest speaker at the business meeting. He has an incredible amount of experience and gave a very partisan neutral speech...actually learned alot.

As wonderful as it all was (I'll post some pics later), I am so happy to be home. Missed the family like crazy and hope that this opportunity comes for me again, but that next time I can take my husband!!

Have a great day. I'm going to take the day off, embrace my jetlag, and try to sleep!!

Welcome back Trina. It sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time!!!!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there.

And for those who have lost their mothers, you will especially be in my prayers this weekend!

Sorry for the delay on the pictures... been super busy this week dealing with a mysterious water line leak in the yard. Nothing like some home maintenance drama with few returning calls and those that do pointing fingers at everyone else! Luckily what we thought was going to cost $2k ended up only costing $435 and a few ounces of sanity. ;) Anyway, we're doing the ALS Charity Walk tomorrow AM, so I'll try to get the pics posted tomorrow afternoon.

Didn't take as many reunion pictures as I thought... anyway, you can find them here:

Enjoy... and let me know if you want the high quality version of any of them!

Cool pics Chris, thanks for sharing. :)

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Chris~Thank you for the pictures. You are always the BEST at taking & posting pictures. One you named "Trouble" with Laura, Kathy Farley, & I. It made me laugh.

Faye~Finally went back & read the forum. Yes, girl we'll go shopping again. However, I did just pay retail ($83 w/ tax!) for jeans. I really liked them & even bought a second pair (lighter wash w/ a few rips) a week later. Crazy I know but the store does have a punch card.

All you other Vikings~I miss you & hope you are enjoying Spring.

05/13/09 09:01 PM #2130

Faye Sowers (Crute)

You getting wild now Shannon! You are soooooo funny, I swear you are cute will you help me with some OCD spending that I tend to do.........John won't even let me go near a mall or Wallyworld anymore there is just no control I tell you.

Who is that guy in the hat at Blue 5 in the pics? Did he go to school with us?

well Maggie seemed sick today until Dad got home and thought she was goofing off enough and took her to school late so............we went to lacrosse game and now 3 goals later there is no living with dad or maggie and the we know best......so workout here I come........hate to be wrong so much it sucks!

later gators!

Susie JB proud of you girl keep up the good work you are an inspiration!

05/14/09 12:43 PM #2131

Chris Akers

Shannon - you know, back in the old days when jeans got ripped, it was time to iron on the big denim patch. If the patch got a hole in it, you'd iron on another patch over it. We certainly didn't pay some jackass to rip them for us... and we'd never dream of BUYING them that way! LOL! =:)

Faye - not sure on the mystery hat guy. I was wondering the same thing myself. :)

05/15/09 10:23 PM #2132

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Chris & Faye~ Mystery guy in the hat is Jamie Delong-class of '87. We didn't know him before that night either. He said he was on the Wrestling team. He seemed like a real nice guy. I heard a few people from upstairs snuck down to the NHS party but Jamie was a true Viking. We ran in some other place downtown for 10 minutes & met some Vikings from the class of '98-Babies!

It does kill me to purchase jeans with rips. I wouldn't even wear them to work/school either. I like the way they fit & they don't stretch & get too big during the day like some other jeans I have.

Chris~Do you & Kelly like country music at all? There are some great shows coming to Walnut Creek this summer. Wish I was going to George Strait tomorrow night! I am going to a big block party though & it's not in my thug neighborhood which makes it even better!

Susan Jones (Badger)

Hey everyone,

It's been awhile since I have been on this site. I hope everyone is doing well.

I wanted to start our prayer chain for a very important person in our lives that everyone knows. It's MR. DYER. He was admitted last night to Lewis Gale Hospital with congestive heart failure. I was with 2 of his daughters last night when we got the news. I remmeber Mr. Dyer as strict but we all had respect for him. Now 20 some years later for the past 12 years I have come to love Mr. Dyer as a father and grandfather. He told me one time, Susan you can call me Donnie. I said no way. You are Mr. Dyer. He is such a special man and during this time I ask that you all keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Some of you may know 1 of his daughters, Dawn she was a cheerleader for Cave Spring but always came to Northside events. He also has a younger daughter Dara. She is 3 years behind us from Cave Spring. His oldest daughter Susie did not go to school in Roanoke. Anyway, it's a sad time and hard time as you can all imagine. We have lost too many Norsemen and Vikings in the last year and Mr. Dyer needs our prayers!

Thanks a lot everyone...See you this summer!

05/17/09 11:15 AM #2134

Susan Jones (Badger)

Thanks Jolee for passing the news as well!! I appreciate you!!

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Susie~ I will do whatever I can...just let me know...even if it is 12:30 in the morning! I knew something must have been up for my cell phone to start buzzing at that time of the night/morning. Call/text anytime.

I am OFF for a week!! Yayy! All my babies graduated last week so I now have one week in between graduation and the Summer semester, which I have picked up a class to teach. So if ANYONE wants to go to lunch this week, let me know. Would love to see everyone and catch up! I talked to Steve Jones last week who said he is in as well and maybe, just maybe, Trooper Brown will entertain us with an appearance. It was so good to see him last night in Walmart parking lot in FC! Looks so cute and still as sweet as ever!

Not too much else going on here...addicted to Facebook...so I am on there quite a lot...anyone up for us thinking about a Summer get-together? If anyone has any ideas/locations, let me know and I will do my best to put us all together in one spot...

Take care and keep in touch!!

05/19/09 01:22 PM #2136

Greg Terry

Susan - Thank you for the update. We will keep Mr Dyer in our prayers. He was hard on us but I think we all know why now that we are older.

Jolee - Let us know about lunch. A summer thing sounds cool. It would be nice if we could do something in a park or something so the kids can play and expend energy.

Shannon - Did you just tell everyone you like wearing tight jeans? Man the animal in you is just coming out more and more :-)~

05/19/09 06:55 PM #2137

Jolee Clarke (Preston)

Ohhhh Lorrrddd.....you shouldn't have said you were with Troopers from all over the U.S.....these kids on this forum have formed opinions of me and my relationship with Troopers....

can you take some pictures?!?! Hee hee...I'll let my classmates fill you in...

Be safe and hope to see you soon!

05/20/09 12:59 PM #2138

Trina Schossow (Folden)

Jolee...you still around or have you left for Philly?? I'm probably in for lunch this week, just post when/where.

Todd Selkirk...I FINALLY saw your commercial yesterday, you are looking good.

Summer gathering sounds fun. Love the park idea for the kids to romp. I'm willing to lend a helping hand.

Happy Hump Day to the rest...

Shannon Davis (Nuckolls)

Greg T~Guess I didn't explain my jean purchase very well. My favorite ones I've bought at Buckle. They are "Silver" brand, style Tuesday. I have 2 pair of Tuesday (different colors) & 1 pair of Aiko style. They fit b/c the WAIST doesn't stretch out during the day & make the jeans fall down like the other brands I have. They aren't super tight so don't think I'm all wild & crazy-we're not 40 yet ya know?! Check for pictures on FB after June 10 though...

The summer park day would be fun. Please post when the date is set.

Jolee~You would've loved to have been at McCalls BBQ (big restaurant buffet near my house) today. I had to leave work early b/c Sydney has strep throat. She had to stay home today but is feeling so much better & asked to go there for lunch. Well, about 15 Raleigh Police officers showed up! They had on royal blue jumpsuits & "Senior Officer" patches on the sleeves. Perhaps they are Raleigh Special Forces or something. I should have whipped out my cell phone & got a few pictures for you.

Well Trooper Brown it would seem that you are in my neck of the woods. (as well as Kristen Witt Bray's)...now if only I wasn't stranded at home with 2 kids and no car tonite. Hope you have a good time in the city of Brotherly Love.

As far as a get together this summer. If anything begins to form please keep me posted. I already have the Roanoke itch and need to make an appearance.... possibly one without husband and kids. Barry if you still read the forum I haven't forgotten our little deal.

Susie, good chatting with you the other night. Hope you were able to get up at the butt crack of dawn...I was still viewing the inside of my eyelids at that time. Keep us posted on Mr. Dyer.

Trina - in your travels do you ever make it to Northern Virginia?
