Seems I missed quite the outing last weekend. Glad ya'll had a blast and I'll make sure to get to the next one!!

Karaoke...never been before, but my long ago ex-spouse (who I am still friends with) DJs with Karaoke at Allsports on Grandin every Friday night. I'm happy to go and encourage, would take lots of drinks to get me up there...I could be Faye's DD.

When's the next lunch??

Still like to check in here. Read all about Texas Tavern & saw pictures on FB. So funny! Hope everyone is doing great.

Faye~we really wanted to see you sing this weekend in Raleigh. Since no one (including the DJ for G105 we met) had heard of the proposed Karaoke place, it threw our plans off. I must see you sing one day!! Had a fun time with you & the girls Fri. night. Remember the "Sports Bar" at Bogarts? PS~you were the only one who knew some of the answers to the DJ's question-way to go!

Shannon what a hoot, it was so funny and fun! We have memories to laugh about for years to come......it was a blast! Thanks for finding the dinner place, and places to visit........fun times girl~ do I end up in the wrong places at the wrong time or what......:) lolololol

don't worry about the karoke place, I have 2 friends in town working on costumes and we are going out one night incognito to sing.............shhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone though......:)

Carla Boyd (McCabe) Vicky, Matt has been there for work many times...he says they are earthy tree huggers, but overall nice folks and it's a nice place. He said it would be a fine place to send a kid to school. Lots of skiing too.

We visit Boone every once in a while. Brandon's sister-in-law's family have a summer house in Boone and we go there around Thanksgiving and visit a friend's Christmas tree farm. Asheville is about an hour or so away.
Most everything is within walking distance from the college. The town has an old time charm too. We have to visit the General Store while there. Yet, the town has grown quite a bit in the past couple of years.
My husband loved it and would go back if I liked the cold winters.
You need to take a visit. Google it! The mountains remind me of home especially since there are no mountain or even hills here in Eastern North Carolina.

Thanks Amy BC, looks like we are going to do a visit there in October. Sean Bowyer had told me about the skiing as well...nothing like living in the north to ski in the south...but she has a snow board and that will be a great past time for her. She'll like the small town feeling...it will remind her of here :) Of course with this said there are still several other schools she wants to take a look at...we've done this 2 years in a row, but she decided to stay home this year and attend community college until she makes up her mind what she wants to pursue, and where to go...which was fine with us, not quite ready for her to move away...she just turned 18 Thursday.

Carla...earthy tree huggers...good one. Hope things are going well for Matt in his new job. Ready for school yet?

Vicky~ Now that it hit me where this college is...my neice just moved back to Va from Boone. She absolutely loved the area. While it is a small town, it is quite polished and sees many skiiers during the winter months. Good luck!

Hey Carla, glad the Mayor likes the new job...so happy for you guys and what a blessing. Two days of school down and only 178 more to go...so far it's been in the 50s in the morning at the bus stop..what's up with that? I haven't gotten the little ones enough warm clothes yet. I was hoping they could wear shorts a little while longer. Hopefully it will warm up some.

Everyone have fun at lunch on Friday..wish I could be there but maybe the next time.

Hey, mark your calendars girls..(and guys..can't forget about you) I will be in Roanoke on Saturday Oct 10th, taking Jess to AppState on Friday picking her boyfriend up from Lees McRae and heading north (he's on fall break)..lay over in Roanoke, doing dinner with the family...but up for something afterwards if anyone is game.
