Got married right after high school & moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Lived there a couple of years while my husband was in the Air Force. Came back to RH, had my first child & then went to Winthrop. My husband worked at Bowater & went to USC at Lancaster. Then we moved to Athens, Ga. for him to finish his degree & for me to go to graduate school. After we graduated, we lived in Athens for about 27 years. I began my teaching career there. I was the Educational Coordinator for 13 counties of Headstart programs. I opened several Preschool programs in churches that grew into full Christian Schools. I opened my own schools for children from infants through 12 Year olds & owned up to 4 different schools in Georgia at one time. I taught Child Development & Early Childhood Education at Athens Area Technical College( the 2 year college) & the University of Georgia as an adjunct professor. I was teaching classes at UGA when my mother became seriously ill. I have been an educator for over 40 years teaching thousands of children & adults & I have truly loved it- maybe not every day, but most days for sure! The saddest part of my life was when I lost the husband I loved dearly for nearly 35 years. All those years I lived in Athens I had so much family in Rock Hill. Now that I am back here, I have lost most of my family. I miss them all so much! I have had some serious health issues myself the last couple of years, but I am on the mend now.

Your Bucket List (Which items on your list have you done and which are left to be completed?)

Enjoyed my life! Travelled all over the U.S., including! Hawaii several times, Canada, Mexico & the Caribbean.
Loved raising my children, being a wife to my wonderful husband , my work, my family, friends, church & community.
Moved back to Rock Hill to help care for my parents during end of life. Glad I could do it, but missed my life in Georgia & still do not feel a real part of Rock Hill yet.
Mission trips to Russia, Mexico, Peru & Africa.
Still to do: Get over heart problems so I can travel again to Europe- London, Paris, Rome, Vienna,Ireland. Get out more & make new friends. Volunteer in the community. Write some children's books. Live to see my grandchildren graduate from college, get married & meet a couple of my great grandchildren. Want to be sure my children are healthy & happy with families to care for them after I am gone. Most importantly want to know the generations after me love & serve The Lord Jesus with all their hearts.

Favorite Quotation(s):

"Only what we do for others will last."
"...Faith, hope & love, but the greatest of these is love."

What model & year car did you drive in '65?

Who knows? I am not a car person. Whatever my parents had. Lol

I too am so sorry to hear about  Steve's passing. We were friends in Ebinport Elementary & Sullivan Jr. High. We had many good times together. He was always such a sweet boy with a nice smile & a cute sense of humor. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family at this sad time. May God comfort you in the weeks & months ahead.   With sincerest sympathy,  Sandra Coleman Brazil

Hi, Ronnie! I have been recuperating from heart problems, but I was thinking about going to our 50th High School Reunion if I am able. Since I know so few folks from high school anymore, I had hoped you & your wife were going so I would see a facial friend to sit with, but I don't see your names on the list. Are you going or would y'all consider going? I would love to meet your wife & catch up. Hope to see you soon! Have a wonderful Easter.

I'm sorry about the comment that I haven't had any contact with former classmates. I have had a casual interaction with a couple of folks, but I lived away for so long that I lost contact with most people with whom I attended school. It would be nice to see them again after 50 years- hard to believe it's been thaaaat long- since I am living in Rock Hill again.

Hi, Linda! I am recuperating from heart problems & do not know if I will be well enough to attend the Reunion dinner or not. Cassie & I had planned to come before my surgery, but now she has problems too. Since I have had no contact with anyone since high school & would probably not be remembered by anyone; unless Cassie can come, I probably would not want to come. I had looked forward to coming so I hope Cassie & I will be able to come. She said we could buy our tickets at the door if it works out. If we can't make it, I hope everyone has a wonderful time. Thank you also for all the time & energy you have put into this class reunion & all the others before. I know how time consuming these things can be! May you be richly blessed in the years ahead! Have a wonderful Easter.
