I love to sing and I play the organ at my church. I hadn't played in decades so it was some what of a challenge.

Who was your favorite teacher?

Two that I really enjoyed were Mrs. Fewell and Mrs. Amick. I have to say I really appreciate all the writing lessons learned from Mrs. Jackson.

What did you always want to do that you haven't done?

Learn to sing really well.

Yes!

I graduated from Winthrop with a degree in Music Ed. Taught two years in Boiling Springs, SC and then went to UNC- Greensboro for a master's. One of the first persons I met while touring the music building was Lynn Taylor. After graduating, I took a job in Randolph County, NC, married a fellow teacher and have been here ever since.

Like Nancy, I didn't know John in high school except to say hello. When the website was established,I noticed how complimentary and congenial he was to everyone, including me. I forget how fragile life is, and how important it is to for one to know they are secure in Jesus. My condolences and prayers to his family and loved ones. Enjoy that heavenly choir and band, John.
