I learned to speak German.

Favorite memory of RHHS:

As we get older, all memories are "a favorite."
One of my fun memories is the blast we had in Mrs. Murdoch's eighth grade class.... Jimmy Boyd, Clyde Brumfield, and Lynn Goodson. We had a lot of good laughs.
She accused me of wearing cowbells when I wore my charm bracelet! I think we also gave her a hard time..and I think we gave Jimmy Boyd a hard time...SORRY Jimmy!
I cherish all the memories of my high school years - sock hops, Friday night football, basketball, class plays, and, of course, first week at Ocean Drive. Also, I cherish all the friends I made... even if we are not in touch all the time. I still have the memories of all these dear friends, and it sure made high school fun!

Least favorite memory of RHHS:

I tend to look for the best in any situation and push bad thoughts aside... I guess I did the same in high school. I am sure if I talk to enough people, something will come up that I'm not too proud of! Maybe it was giving jJimmy Boyd a hard time.

Who was your favorite teacher?

Mrs. Heitman and I was also fond of Miss Kneece. We spent a lot of time with these ladies as we had multiple classes with them. Not to say that all the teachers I had were not special. It's sad as a lot of them are not here any more.

Ever skip school?

Yes

What did you always want to do that you haven't done?

I have pretty much lived all my dreams and even more. I feel fortunate that I had wonderful parents and sisters and I waited a long time for marriage and I guess I did it right; one time for me, so that's an accomplishment. I have super stepchildren and a wonderful son and beautiful daughter ... couldn't ask for more.
I guess the one thing would have to be "TO RETIRE EARLY." I retired on May 2019 and then came 2020 which we remember. My husband fought an illness all of 2021 and passed in December 2021. I wish we had had a longer retirement together.

Would you do anything different if you could roll the years back?

Not sure I would change anything. I think the road we take, with the bumps along the way, carve us into the person we are meant to be.

How old do you feel?

OOOH! Mentally I feel like I did at RHHS. Physically, that's a different thing!

Favorite vacation spot:

Dolomites Italy - Cayman - Germany - HHI

Favorite TV show:

? Netflix

Any words of wisdom?

Look at the best of everything and you'll never know the worst of anything. Nothing lasts forever, not even if you want it to. If you are extremely happy, it won't last forever. Same if you are going through extreme difficulty.

Comments:

In 1970, when we were so young, 2010 and now 2025 seemed so far off. We've seen a lot of inventions and changes in the world. Experienced 2020 I know our parents experienced a lot in their lifetimes; but I think our generation is very fortunate to have lived in the years that we did. (I learned to type on a manual typewriter and graduated to an electric in high school. Never thought about a computer or ipads or iphones in high school. Things move right along!)
I am thankful that my life has continued and that I can be a part of this 50th celebration. As is evidenced by the "Memory" page, those of us still around are indeed blessed.
Still feel lucky and blessed to be looking forward to the 50th reunion.
