Judy Schoen (Grewe)

Thanks everyone, for the Birthday Wishes! In my family , my oldest, Bill, turned 57 on Friday (10), Meghan turned 39 on Saturday(11) so by that time it's kind of overkill!  With stale cake but always icecream to drown my sorrows! Tom,  that beach scene is my favorite place ever! Canon Beach in OR beautiful part of the country!  Blue Angels Air Show was this weekend in the area ! The new Top Gun  is incredible!  Watched them maneuvering and practicing Thursday and Friday before the show. They get so close it takes your breath away! And they are so majestic it makes you proud they are ours...and American, built mostly here in STL !

Judy, Cannon Beach is so beautiful. Our family has vacationed there many times. We have also vacationed in Manzanita a few times, as well as Gearhart. We will be in Manzanita the first week in July. My daughter bought a vacation house there during Covid. This will be my first time there. That daughter lives in Seattle and her twin lives in Portland. So we have spent a lot of the me out there. It has been five years since I have been there because Bob could no longer travel.
It sounds like you had a great birthday. Wishing you many blessings in the coming year.

Janet, as I was going over my schedule I noticed that our Reunion/Golf outing is to be on the 22nd of August which is a Monday.  As I am retired and consider every day to be a Saturday it matters little to me, however, most golf courses differentiate between Mondays and Saturdays.  I do look forward to our gathering and want to be sure that we are all there together at the same time and place.  I'd like to thank those who organize this event and Lucia, who had the insight to set up this forum.  A Merry Unbirthday to one and all.

Wow, seems like we all have family in the northwest.

My wife has a brother that lives in Sherwood, OR, and a sister that lives in Newberg OR.

We looked at moving to Oregon a few years ago, but the big hospital there that specializes in MS wasn't taking any new patients. Another thing that changed our minds was as we were driving around looking at properties there was a guy walking down the road with a shotgun.

Janet, We were there for an anniversary of the Lewis and Clark expedition. I picked up lots of items to use in my classroom. Also while there we visited the house where The Goonies was filmed. That was for my son-in-law who is a huge goonies fan.

Better a Goonies fan than an actual Goonie.🤣🤗

Happy Birthday, Jon Saulnier, the free spirit, with a quick wit and, always, a car.  Not surprising that J&J Auto was such a part of your life.  It would be good to see you this year at our Reunion/Golf Outing - you don't need to be a golfer, come after the golf and socialize.  Or, knowing you, you could come and do some color commentary.  We'd love to see you.

Happy Birthday George Karam.  Thanks for the tip - lengthening the backswing has made a big difference.  We hope to see you at the Reunion/Golf outing again this year.  In the meantime, may your day be filled with love, laughter and good company.  May thy ball lie in green pastures rather than still waters.

A Merry Unbirthday to the rest of us.

Lucia, I'm not so sure about not being a Goonie.  The Goonies solved the crime, captured the criminals, saved the neighborhood, found the treasure - one of them even got to kiss a girl.  Chunk (I think that was his nickname.) got to eat all the ice cream and chocolate he could get his hands on.

Happy Birthday, Tom Wischman!!  It's been, well, years since we've heard from you, we trust that all is well with you and Susie.  Grawn, isn't that pretty much in the heart of the best cherry country in the world?  It would be good to see you this August at our Reunion/golf outing - you needn't be a golfer, just come and socialize.

Lorrie, Lorrie, Lorrie.

Another year and another happy reason to celebrate a wonderful birthday.

I hope your day is filled with happiness, love, and most importantly, lots of, what for it, CAKE AND ICECREAM of your choice.

Stay as sweet as you were and with all that cake and ice cream, I'm sure you will.

Stay safe and enjoy.

Happy Birthday, Andy, with the quick (and quirky) wit, ready smile and keen insight beyond our years.  I probably appreciate your friendship more now than I did back at Shrine.  I hope your day (and year) is loaded with laughter and love.  You're one of the good guys.  It would be great to see you at our mini Reunion/Golf outing in August.  Choose a response - "Definitely", "Yes", "Maybe".

I've recently been in touch with Judy Shields.  She's been having a rough go of things lately as her husband, Bob, died of cancer at the end of last year and her son, Chris, also died of cancer early this year.  Judy said that she has a good family and friend support system, but a double whammy so near to each other is quite a struggle.  She does open the Forum from time to time and knows that others have suffered similar tragedies and situations.  Judy did say that she remembers her "Shrine" days and friends very warmly, thinks of us often, and regrets that she can't join us this August as she's going on a pilgrimage to Germany with her sister-in-law.

\Kathy, in your sorrow I hope that you can find some solace in knowing that you were blessed with a wonderful partner in life.  I always admired Dick, deservedly so.
