Mike,

Congratulations on your message to us. It;'s great someone at our age can get all that information on paper.

Sounds like it was a wild weekend, it's to bad the course was to wet to play but it gave everyone more time together.

Hope for better weather for next year.

I agree, Janet and Lucia were a great help  to me with the cake and ice cream project

Looking forward to next years reunion already.

And of course. Lucia, Thank goodness for Sadie Hawkins and her dances.

It was a total blast

Why does 1959 sound so long ago?

Saw the reunion picture unfortunately it is such a low resolution that you can't blow it up to see anyone

OB, 4 of us did play something that resembled golf for a few holes.  We had to walk and carry or pull a trolley - no driving carts.  It was far more enjoyable to retire to the patio and socialze.

Tom Hughes, here are the classmates in the picture going from the viewer's left to right. Bonnie Ellison, Tom Neff, Janet Flick, Gayle Walker, Larry Dupke, Mary Lou Devine, Arlene Vachon, Mike Young, Kathy Chaivre, Kathy Glynn, Pam Morey, Mary Jo Vanderplas, Marieda Murray, Chris Frye, Pat Diggles, Jayne Scallon, Rick Fournier, Janet Meininger, Dan Janess, Mary Strauss, Sue Yowell, Jack Tillotson, Fred George, Kathy Kehoe, Lucia Lenhardt, Karen Smoltz. See you next year.

Classmates who have taken pictures.   WE have problems loading into Photo Gallery.  But  it's not difficult to put on this Forum.  I like the big images.

  • Load your photos onto your computer, I-pad, etc.
  • Open Forum to post a message.
  • Hit second icon on top row (Looks like photo) and follow instructions.

Arlene, have a wonderful birthday, as terrific as you an make it.  Nice move bringing the 8th grade pictures to challenge memories, imaginations and guesswork.

Judy, had we had 700 in our graduating class, we'd be wondering if half the people there were classmates of ours or spouses of classmates.  We were blessed with the intimacy which comes from fewer members in our class.  We all knew who everyone else was.  We do wish you had been able to join us to add your humor and "craic".  Did I spell that correctly Bob?

If your not to full, be sure you have more cake and ice cream and wah it down with your favorite drink.

Enjoy

Janet.

Seems like you and Mike just keep on going like the bunny,

Thank you again for the photos and yes, I would like a list that you and Mike have put together.

Now why don't the two of you take at least a week off before starting next year's festivities?

Thank you for the birthday wishes!  Tom, that cake and ice cream you made available to us at the reunion, was DELISH!  I didn't need anything more on 9/3.  As soon as I have some extra time, I will forward the 8th-grade picture that we played "Who's Who" for $1M dollars!  (No one won the $$$.)

I need to add the names we think are correct.  Stay tuned!

(Can you imagine...there are 46 students in that picture, and that was only one homeroom class! No wonder the nuns were "testy.")

Chris, thanks for calling last night.  Sorry I have not bee able to update everyone.  It was a long month in the hospital.  I am home and able to get around the house OK.  I have 30 days of home therapy, then it is off to cardio rehab to build my strength and endurance.

I am still fuzzy on a lot of stuff that happened, and my short term memory still gets gaps.  Even though it has only been three days, I have noticed small improvements.  Right now I will take the small steps.  It is going to take   many weeks of work but I am detrnined to do it.  Safety first, then it is get the job done.

Sorry I missed the reunion.  Chris told me about the golf course.  Somebody does not want us to have a good golf outing.  Heard you all had fun.  I am very glad we can still do it.

Time to sign off, lunch is almost ready.  God bless you all for your support.

Dave

Dave,

Glad to hear all went well. I thought all of us at this age had a fuzzy memory. Don't worry, maybe there are some things you don't want to remember.

Take it easy cuz the rehab will whip you into shape.

Take care and get well.

Well, time to wish Mike a happy birthday as well as big thanks for classmate outreach with such stellar results!
hope you shoot under your age today followed by OB's birthday advice - cake and ice cream galore!

And that day has come.

We must wish Mr Young Happy Birthday.

And now in the words of Lucia, Eat your cake and ice cream, And remember......

You know you're old when the candles cost more than the cake.

Just got an email from Shrine High School about the passing of a 1990 graduate.  It said her father was Lawrence Bell.  Is there any chance this might be the Larry Bell who was in our class?

09/12/23 09:05 PM #3704

Mike Young

Many thanks to you all for the birthday wishes whether sent through the Forum or other avenues. They have brightened my day.  A Merry Unbirthday to you all.  (Or is that to "all Y'all")

Lucia, it is pretty simple to shoot your age, you just have to quit on the 11th or 12th hole.  Lately, I've been shooting the temperature as we're having an unseasonable hot Summer.

Fred, we would not be the least bit surprised if this isn't the Larry Bell fom the Class of 1963 - 27 years is around an expected time.  Any way we can explore?  I, personally don't get any Shrine correspondence.  Thanks for the heads up.

I saw the same obit for Larry's daughter.  The last time I saw Larry was in the summer of 1970 when I came home from Vietnam after my two year paid vacation, courtesty of the US Army.  He was living in Berkley at the time and we lost track of each other after that day. So sorry to hear of his family's loss.

Hope your day will be filled with love, happiness, cake and ice cream and many more to come.
