School Story

I must admit that I really enjoyed my Shrine High School experience. It was a lot simpler, and less complicated than the high school experiences my kids have gone through. I am hard pressed to single out one significant story. I can say that throughout my high school career when someone asked me where I went to high school I was proud to say Shrine!

Mary Ann,

I'll say a prayer for your family's autistic children. They are very special kids. Our first daughter Erin was born in 1979 and diagnosed with autism when one in 1500 kids were autistic and 75 percent were boys. Those statistics have changed dramatically today. They are all special kids with special needs. Erin was very low functioning and It was difficult at first. As time went on I felt that we were the right people to have a daughter like her. We had two more daughters who are better people because of Erin. They don't know it but they are! Erin passed away at twenty-three and left us with rich memories, while teaching us true love, understanding and peace.

Enjoy those kids! They're teaching you every day!
