James De Angelis

Sept. 20, 1942 - March 10, 2024

FILER, IDAHO - Jim was born on September 20, 1942, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, to James "Red" De Angelis and Helen Dow.

He was the oldest sibling to Bonnie Stormont of Sacramento, Michael De Angelis (Leda) of Sacramento, Rodney De Angelis (deceased), Jenelle Youngblood (Steve) of Eugene, Oregon, Denise Youngblood (deceased) and Kevin Youngblood (deceased).

Jim moved with his family to Ione, California, in the mid-late 40's. The elder De Angelis family eventually all relocated to the Land Park area of Sacramento, California, to call home.

After graduation from McClatchy High School in Sacramento, Jim studied at Sac City College while he was bagging groceries at Lucky Stores. He eventually made his first career with Lucky Stores for 41 years.  Through Jim's many promotions throughout his Lucky career, he was the District Manager for 22 years.  His second career was with Sutter Health in Oakland, CA, in Contract Negotiations, Human Resource and Labor Relations for 11 years.

In 1992, Jim married Janet.  Combining their family of 4 kids Julie Hughes (Dennis) of Galt, CA, Christi Mascarenas (James) of Roseville, CA, Brian Jones (Vicky) of Beaverton, OR, and Nick Jones (Goldie) of Filer, ID. Through the years, 9 grandchildren were born.  Jim and Janet made their home in El Dorado Hills, CA, for 7 years and in Vacaville, CA, after a job transfer for 24 years. They had recently settled in Filer, Idaho.  Grandchildren: Jeffrey Moran (Lili), Thomas Hughes, Hannah Mascarenas, Abbey Mascarenas, Serenity Brockman, Penelope Jones, Bentley Jones, Kaylynn Jones and Amelia Jones.  Great-grandchildren: Sophia Moran and Julian Moran.  Jim also leaves behind many cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

With our family in tow, we boated and camped for several years. The family vacationed at Lake Almanor, renting a home each year. Eventually, Jim and Janet bought a fifth wheel and they were hooked. Their greatest trip was through Canada and Alaska - taking 3 1/2 months – fishing, touring, golfing and learning the rich history.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls with a luncheon to follow.

Jimmy and In were best friends from the 3rd grade to the 5th grade.  We spent many days swimming at the LP plunge in the summer.  His dad and Grandfather had a mine up in Ione and I rememer going up there several times and shooting are BB guns.  He lived on 4th ave as I remember and his grandparents had a large home on 8th ave close to McClathcy we ate lundh there many times.  We drifted apart, but i have fond memories of Jimmy growing up in Land Park.
