Robert Rivet

Robert Rivet

Andrew Ranzieri informed us that Robert Rivet passed away in November 2017 from a heart attack. He was told that there was not an announcement in the Sacramento Bee of his passing.

If you know of an obituary or any details, please send them to us, and we will update his "In Memory" page.

The first mail I received was that Robert's birthday was coming up in 7 days, and I was ready to wish him a Happy Birthday.  Now the latest email says he passed away, and I said to myself "Oh, no. This makes me so sad." He was such a nice guy, a gentle giant.  I remember him as very kind and caring.  The world has lost a truly special person.  May he rest in peace.  My condolences go to his family who will miss this very dear man.  Sincerely, Carol Misterly Boice

I recall Robert Rivet well; he was a good guy, whom I got along with well. It is a sad surprise that he passed away. Seems that too many of our '60 class are reaching the age of illness, disease and even death. All we can do is pray for the misfortunate and continue to live as well and as fully as we are capable.

Bob was a good friend of mine and have stayed in touch after our highschool days.  He and his wife Julie and my wife Julie and myself would get together for a golf outing and weekly kept in touch by e-mail. He will be greatly missed.  As Carol mentioned in her comment he was a gentle giant and will be sorely missed.

Bob rivet was one of the finest teachers I have ever known OR heard of.  He taught my oldest daughter from 4th grade......through Jr. High and then Elk Grove High School.  He taught 'Special Education' classes and she was a Special Ed Student......she was born with only 30% hearing in her right ear.....completely deaf in her left ear.  She/We struggled UNTIL she was put into Bob's class.  Ironically he moved at the same time she moved through school from school to school.

She/We were BLESSED to know him and to have him as her teacher.  Because of him........she turned out to be a well educated young lady who has ambition - and knows that if she wants to accomplish something - she will do it!  That was HIS teaching!!!

I was so looking forward to seeing him at our next reunion..................

God Rest His Soul and God Bless his family.  The world is shy one wonderful human being now.

It breaks my heart........but apparently our good lord had 'classes' Bob needed to be a part of.

So very very sorry Julie.

Carolyn and I knew Bob since about Elementary school days and we always found Bob to be a very friendly and fun person to be around.  Carolyn appreciated what caring friends Bob and Julie were to her parents who lived near them in Elk Grove.  Even though I graduated a half year ahead of Bob, I have fond memories of participating in Track with him.  We will miss his gentle manner and wish Julie our best.  Jim and Carolyn Keehner

I had the pleasure of renewing my friendship with Robert while he was a member at Valley Hi Country Club until a couple of years ago when he moved away from the club.  We had fun talking about our high school days.

Bob and I were on the Track Team and always supported each other whether we won or lost. What a nice "Flat Top" haircut he always had.....He set the standard.  We always enjoyed our conversations at ALL the CKM Reunions and I'll miss talking Track and other topics with him.  He will be remembered for his kindness and character.
