Since leaving college (University of Utah) I went into my father's real estate operation and took it over in 1980, building our offices at 5200 Highland Drive.

In 1989 I was asked to build a 2-day technology course for the National Association of Realtors. In doing this, I also created a financial software program for Realtors, which I eventually sold to Top Producer Systems (North America's largest real estate software company).

I also became a Senior Instructor for 27 years speaking from China to Spain, Puerto Rico, Canada and almost every state in the U.S.

In 2003 my wife of 23 years passed away from cancer. In 2006 (with the indirect help of Sue Ann Peterson; my ex high school flame) I met my new wife online and married in December of 2006. In 2019 we divorced amicably.

Currently my focus is on selling real estate in the upper end market and speaking around the country.

School Story:

I'm sure that nobody remembers it, but the highlight of my High School career was directing and producing our version of "Hair" for an assembly. We later were asked to repeat it for the opening of Arrow Press Square. We called the production "An Evening of Social Comment".

Thanks to all those in the Drama department and in the Model UN for giving me my start in speaking. I've even got Karl Rove who signed my yearbook as "The Oreo Kid".

Okay, here's an embarrasing moment. At our last reunion in Snowbird, I was checking in and this "babe" looks over at me and says "Randy"? I had no idea who it was and I answered "Yes . . . do I know you"? She said "Of course . . . Selma. Selma Vance. But I don't go by 'Selma' anymore, I go by 'Sunny'". Without going into detail, the difference between "Selma" and "Sunny" was something to write a "reality" series around; in the good sense.

Which brings me to one last thing. To many of you let me apologize. You see our graduating year, I was also the Photography Editor for the yearbook. My qualifications for this position were that I owned a camera . . . sort of. Fortunately I had good backup people that could fix my mistakes.

My oh my. Selma Vance. What a wonderful school buddy relationship I had with her. She was the classy and very thorough yearbook editor, and I had the priviledge of being the yearbook photo editor. We would oftten talk about what kinds of photos we could take that would tell a story. I remember one day that she got Principal Larsen to lean up against a skinny pole and I would be on the other side talking to him (or appearing to). It was such a funny staged shot that she couldn't stop laughing when she saw it. I was so tall and skinny, and he was . . . well you remember Principal Larsen.

Probably my most memorable thought of her was when we were checking into one of our reunions at Snowbird. I was checking in, and this gorgeous svelt chick walks up to me and says "Hi Randy". I looked at her and said "Do I know you"? She laughed (which gave her away) and said "I'm Sunny. You know, Selma"? I couldn't believe it. She looked so great. (This was definately not the plump girl that we used to throw darts at in the dark room.)

Selma had definately turned into "Sunny", but still had that beautiful smile and contagious laugh.

Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and an all around good person.
