Brian M Ellison

1955 ~ 2013Brian Matthew Ellison passed away unexpectedly at his home in SLC on March 20, 2013. He was born in California, on August 7, 1955, to Thomas R. Ellison and Karlee H. (Ellison) Brown. The Ellison family moved to SLC, Utah, when he was seven, and he happily spent the rest of his life here. Brian embodied athleticism, intelligence, and talent. He starred in football for Olympus High, graduating in 1973. He graduated from the U of U with an English degree. Brian married Suzie Leva, and they had a son, Parker Brian Ellison. Parker is the light of both his parents' lives. Suzie and Brian divorced but remained very close until his death. Brian later married Melissa B. Jones. They divorced, but also remained very close. Brian was a very passionate and gregarious man. He deeply loved his friends and family, especially Parker. His creativity and artistry defined him. He was happiest when playing music, running a river, or cooking for friends or family. Brian is survived by his son, Parker (Tori), his mother, Karlee Brown (Ken), brothers Joel, Doug, and Chris Ellison, sister Julie Ann Cooper (Kim), and many nieces and nephews. Brian's loving family and his many, many dear friends will miss him always. Remember the smiles he put on your face. A celebration of Brian's life on April 6, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center (North of U of U hospital). Everyone is welcome to attend. Published in Salt Lake Tribune on March 29, 2013
