I will always remember the response of so many classmates to the premature and sudden death of my father during my junior year. Typical of this was a dilemma I faced when trying to dig out a damaged water line between our house and the water main at the street. One tender hearted classmate on seeing me knee-deep in a trench with shovel in hand, made note while passing, and returned a short time later with her own shovel and work clothes to join in the fun. I was not being a Tom Sawyer by any means, but it made me appreciate the values of the extraordinary friends I had in such abundance at Oly.

We all avoided the draft and being sent to SE Asia on Uncle Sam's errand. I went at the call of another Master, and have been eye-witness to an amazing story. For those wishing to read more, let me know and I can help you get a copy of the ebook or hard copy titled "Light and Hope from a Thousand Shards"

Lisa- it was a delight to meet Weatherford and to catch up with you. I'm going to go looking for your Master's thesis! Congrats on that. My son went to Pomona as an undergrad so that area is memorable to us, and such a unique environment. Best!
Greatest occupation one could wish for!
