REGISTRATION MILESTONES - On July 14th we reached a new milestone with 150 registered classmates on this site. And as of July 24th, we have now registered 30% of all our classmates. Way to go!

SCHS Class of ’69 News Update for July 1, 2009

Welcome to this edition of SCHS69 NEWS! This page offers you access to the periodic news bulletin about our classmates. CLASSMATES who joined us in JUNE. A warm and hearty “Welcome” to the almost 50 classmates who joined us this past month!! As of July 1st, we now have approximately 27% of our class accounted for (138 registered members) and growing almost every day.

REUNION UPDATE We are now only 31 days away from our class reunion on August 1st, and we already have well over 100 attendees already signed up! We've been doing our best to contact everyone we could find before the July 1st ticket price increase kicked in, and we pretty much made it. We did manage to reach out to nearly everyone in the online white pages who had a listed phone number. We're still attempting to track down the last 25 or so that have not yet been contacted or researched. Please note that the deadline for mailing in your check for a reunion ticket or paying online via credit card is July 15th - just two weeks away from today. After that date we will be accepting cash only payment at the door on the night of the reunion. Please see the "Reunion Announcement" and "Reunion Registration" links on the left side of the home page of this site for more details. SENIOR PHOTO UPDATE - As of June 30, 2009, we have now completed uploading all Senior yearbook photos for everyone who had a photo in the 1969 yearbook. CLASSMATE NEIGHBORS? - You'd be surprised who among our classmates lives in your state or even in your region. You can easily find out by going to the "Where they are Now" box on the right side of the home page and then go to the bottom where you will see the following link:"Show classmates on map." Click on it and you'll be transported to a map showing where all our classmates live. Zoom in to view your neighborhood and click on the balloons to reveal the names of classmates. You just never know who you'll find. Turns out most of us didn't move too far away from San Mateo County...

OUR FIRST 100 - During the first week of June we reached a new milestone with 100 registered classmates on this site. Whoo hoo! Keep up the good work!

REGISTERED MEMBERS - On June 21st we reached another milestone for our web site with the registration of 25% of our classmate family (127 members). Not bad considering we officially opened the doors to this site on March 1st!

JULY BIRTHDAYS - Look at all those BD boys and girls! I think we had about 2 birthdays for the entire month of May - what's up with that?! Anyway, happy birthday to all of you who celebrate the turn of another page this month - and may you live to enjoy many more. And we hope you get lots of emails from your classmates wishing you a great day (hint to other classmates...).

SCHS69 FORUMS - Kevin Wirth added a RECIPE forum to our site in June - he even posted a BOOK he compiled with dozens of dungeness crab recipes, free for you to download. For those of you who like to cook, and the rest of you who'd like to learn, this will be an excellent opportunity to give and get some great tips for those most important meals of the day. Master Chef and classmate Fred Stevens has already contributed several recipes, so hurry on over! Be sure to leave feedback for any recipes you try. And if you have suggestions for new forums, please send your suggestions to Kevin Wirth at kevinhwirth@gmail.com

SCHS Class of ’69 News Update for June 4, 2009

It's so rewarding for us site administrators to receive emails from so many of you -- and we especially enjoy seeing new members join this site (we each receive an email notifying us whenever a new classmate registers here -- it's very cool...). It's a lot of fun talking with and writing to you, learning what you've been up to. We seem to have reached a point where more of us are quickly finding out about this web site and are signing up.

NEW MUSIC PLAYER A new music player was added to our site site on June 1st filled with many of the tunes we're all familiar with from back in the day. Now you can crank up the volume while you're visiting this site. Have fun! BTW, there will be even more fun stuff coming to this website soon (like classmate videos!), so stay tuned.

THE REUNION IS COMING! There are less than 60 days remaining until our class reunion on August 1st ! Ellen Dickinson has been calling classmates like crazy to let them know about this event, and many of you have responded by signing up. It's great to see so many of you coming onboard! It's going to be a GREAT event.

Many of you are no doubt wondering, "so who is coming to this reunion, anyway?" Well, so far, we have 63 members of this web site who have said they plan to attend - and some of them have already paid, but that's not counting the mail-in registrations we've been receiving. We're pretty close to around 100 who've indicated they plan to come (both paid and unpaid), so, that means you'd better hurry and get your ticket before the price jumps up soon (time is marching on - the deadlines below are fast approaching!).

We kindly ask those of you who have indicated that you will be attending the reunion to purchase your tickets on a timely basis which will start the cash flow coming in and enable us to reimburse them for out-of-pocket expenses. Thank you for your consideration and support.

SCHS69 FORUMS. Last month we opened up the Forums feature on this site, and our first forum is dedicated to those of you who would like to network with each other (ie, we started a "Networking" forum). THE REUNION IS COMING!
There are only 90 days (3 months) remaining until our class reunion on August 1st ! It seems like such a short period of time compared to the time your committee members (Ellen Dickinson [Campbell], Kevin Wirth, Richard Stone, and Lori Bulanti [Lovelace]) have already spent organizing this event. We started planning for this way back in October of 2008, and it has been a fun challenge to figure out how we could bring so many of our classmates back together online with our new web site.

FINANCING THE REUNION AND TICKET PURCHASES

Previously, we mentioned that the Reunion Committee severed the business relationship with High Class Reunions who was hired in November to organize and finance our reunion. Having no budget to move forward on our own; Ellen Campbell, Rich Stone and Lori Lovelace generously agreed to finance the event. We thank the many of you who have already purchased your tickets. We kindly ask those of you who have indicated that you will be attending the reunion to purchase your tickets on a timely basis which will start the cash flow coming in and enable us to reimburse them for out-of-pocket expenses. Thank you for your consideration and support.

HELP! We could sure use a hand for some tasks as we prepare for the reunion. Some of those tasks include:

- scanning all of the Senior class photos for a) use on this web site (the photo will show up in the upper left corner of each classmate's profile page) b) use on nametags at the reunion. Update: 05/05/09 - Thanks to Marcia Van Sandt who graciously volunteered to take on this task!

We've opened up the Forums feature on this site, and our first forum is dedicated to those of you who would like to network with each other(ie, we started a "Networking" forum). Kevin is also planning to launch another forum on SCHS teachers so you can share your memories about your favorite teachers - what you learned from them, moments of inspiration and encouragement you received from them, humorous incidents, and so on.
