I attended SDSU then transferred to Oregon State University in 1969 where I received my BA in 1972 in Elementary Education (with a minor in French.) I earned an M.Ed. at the University of Oregon in 1973 in Curriculum and Instruction. I met my husband, Steve Gremmel at OSU and we were married in 1976. We live in Eugene, OR. We have a daughter, Amy Elise, 24 (born in 1987) who also graduated from OSU in 2009. She lives and works in Portland. My husband taught Art for 12 years at the secondary level and then was a middle school counselor for 19 years before retiring in 2001. I retired after 33 years of teaching mainly 2nd or 3rd grade, in 2005. We travel whenever possible: Mexico for 6-8 weeks each year, Central Oregon for a 2 weeks each summer, Hawaii frequently, and have been to Europe 5 times,.. travel is our love (my husband is also an avid golfer.)
