Grant I've got 2 boys that are wearing me out! One thinks that he's romeo and the other one is going to give Jim Carey a run for his money.
Yes we had to take Pez to the hospital! We almost missed half time because we had to drop him off at the emergency room!
Darby, you've got to tell us that story. I can't remember who all was involved but I do remember that you had that sign we made you for years!
Angela I'd bet that Grant didn't own up to a few other things either.....hmmmmm

I just posted a couple of scans of those old spirit ribbons we would get/wear before football games. I'm a little embarrassed that I still have them, but they sure do help bring back the memories for me.

This place is great. I read everyone's profile and am so impressed on how our class of goofballs made out in life and then I read the message board and realize the profile's must be for a different group and this is the one I remember.

I was one of the people who ran to darby's and hid while his Mom answered the door and just lied to the police. (At least I think it was this time).

Luckily we have google and wiki to remind us of all the evolutions of rolling in the last 20 years.

Hopefully this applies to schools as well.

Ferrell,
Carter got busted during Jr/Sr egg wars. We were at the Armstrong baseball field, on the path behind it. The manager from Piggly Wiggly there by the BK tipped off the police after he sold a bunch of us eggs! I remember a bunch of people got busted that night!
Its amazing that there wasn't more crime in Savannah back then! The cops always seemed able to devote like 10 patrol cars and a paddy wagon to spoil our harmless fun! Maybe we should tip them off, send a bunch of us as decoys, and pull off the biggest heist in Savannah's history! :)
Does anyone remember the night a bunch of us went to roll Karen Kupchik's house? Her brother jumped Jeremy Steinke and went all psycho on him! We were in like 5 different cars, and nobody realized Jeremy was missing for like 30 minutes! Good times, good times!
I still hold Carlton, Billy, Jeremy, Carter, Alan, Joey, and Ashley Carney responsible for my poor study habits our junior and senior years! I would show up fully intending to go to class, and a bunch of them would be waiting for me in the parking lot to skip school and go to Tybee or Hilton Head. The beach was almost my undoing in high school!
Speaking of Ashley Carney, anyone have any idea where he might be? Tried googling him, but keep finding some chick that surfs and plays softball!
And check out Jeremy Steinke! Evidently he's a werewolf in Canada now! (j/k, not our Jeremy!)

Adam,
We should have saved the money for those ribbons, and used it to buy a better football coach! I know it wasn't our players, bc those guys played their hearts out!
Oh well, we could always say that our band and Chattelaines kicked ass!

I read the question earlier about whether or not we had children that are paying us back in kind...I think the more important question is...have any of you noticed that the older we get the more we are becoming like our parents (the same people we said we would NEVER be like)? This conversation (true story) took place in my house not too long ago after I discovered the bathroom sink was clogged:

ME: YASMINE!!!! AJ!!!!!!

(both children enter the room VERY timidly)

BOTH: yes, daddy?

ME: I just got done cleaning out the pipe in the sink. what are these? (holding out a handful of small pebbles)

**I must pause here and explain that at this point, they are both looking at me, dumbfounded, because it is OBVIOUS to them I am holding out a handful of pebbles - they just aren't going to incriminate themselves any further at this point**

ME: I'm waiting...

JUNIOR: Rocks, Daddy?

ME: So how did they get IN the sink, and down the pipe? Wait a second - WHERE IS THE DRAIN PLUG?

(more dumbfounded looks)

ME: Did YOU TWO do this?

(continued deer-in-headlight stares)

ME: Are you SUPPOSED to put things in the sink?

BOTH: no...

ME: Are you supposed to remove the drain plug?

BOTH: no...

ME: Then...how? Why?

JUNIOR: Well, Daddy...how else was I supposed to get them clean?

I had NOTHING at that point. I had just spent an hour under a sink in a one-by-two foot space taking out a drain pipe, and digging out pebbles from under the bathroom sink, and that was all the answer I could get.

ME: you...this...GO TO YOUR ROOM!!!!

(I storm off, then storm back)

ME: and NOBODY washes their hands in here unless I inspect their pockets first!!!!

At this point, my wife is doubled over laughing at me. I still get kidded about that one. I'm telling you. As soon as they are born, I think they suck all the common sense out of us.

Anthony,

Are you sure you haven't bugged my house? That sounds like a daily conversation I have with my boys! One of my favorite stand up shows is Bill Cosby: Himself. I live that every day!

Mine are too young to know about rolling the school, but when they are older, I guarantee my youngest will be the leader and my oldest will do it if someone tells him to!

04/08/08 12:24 PM #111

Heather Raymond (Wainwright)

I'm probably not qualified to answer this since I didn't participate in the rolling of the high school in 88....too busy being a geek, I guess (I was very proud of all of you who did and your finished product, so does that count a little?). Nonetheless, I am still receiving payback. My oldest is all about the rules; but my youngest, aka the Tor-Nate-inator (Tornado+Nate+Terminator) will laugh at any cop that chases and/or catches him. And if he gets caught and is asked "Why?", he'll just shrug his shoulders with a sly-but-"I'm so innocent" look on his face. Never mind he's only 3! I guess my husband has some s-plaining to do! (Although my Dad (you Key Club guys knew him) had a few tangles with the long arm of the law back in his day. Maybe it skips a generation....)

Update on contacting unlocated classmates-
I spoke with Carlton today and he said Heather had already left him a message and he would be registering. He told me Jeremy Steinke lives in Knoxville, so I located a number and gave someone a message for him about the website. Carlton also told me Bill Christian lives in Canton, so I looked up the number and "hopefully" left a message for the right Bill Christian. I found numbers for Kelby, Kemp, and Steve Haskins, but have been unable to leave a message. Please let me know if you have contacted any of them already.

Ashley Carney I think is in SAvannah - there is a name, but no number on the white pages for an Ashley & Holly Carney. (Thinking this might be him.) Someone in Savannah needs to go knock on the door and find out!
Valerie, I had left a message with Bill Christian's dad last week giving him this info for Bill to register.
Shari, I'm sure there is A LOT that Grant hasn't owned up to!

Hey Angela! Thanks for the info on Ashley. I found a number in Public Records on Ancestry for Ashley Carney and called. It was his mom's house and they gave me his cell, so I called and left a message. Maybe we should all list who we have found/contacted so we don't double up. I hope we can find as many as possible.

About the toilet paper gun..... I think Ferrell and I could probably find someone in jail or prison that could make a pretty good see they seem to be able build and make some crazy things. Ferrell, if you try on your end I'll try on mine.

I think I can help with the distraction of the police...you see we all have this thing with blue light. I can't explain it, we see them and are drown to them like bugs to bug lights. We just need to find someplace to set them up.

I still am trying figure why some of ya'll keep saying your old. I'm only 18.

Valerie,
Angie Barton-Mixon - left a message for her at Memorial last week - she is a Nurse Practitioner there.
Angela Freeman - spoke with her grandmother and gave info - she is a CPA in Savh, but haven't found for who to call there.
Kim Winiger - spoke with her mother and emailed Kim the site info.
Warren Brown - my stepbrother - told him via email about site.
Wendy Roddenberry - left a message for her on her machine.

I have no idea where all our classmates lived, but if anyone knows the street names of classmates, we can always look in the white pages and see if their parents still live there and give them a call.

Wendy Jacoby - did she live on Cardiff in Coffee Bluff? If so, there is a number for her parents (I belive) in the white pages. I think she did, but I'm not certain.

That's about all the sleuthing I've done. The others I called/emailed, have already updated their profile. I'll get on it some more this week!

I called Charlie's (Waters) mom a few years ago when Nat's (Roper)Dad died. She told me he was living in Miami with his sister Mary Jane. His parents did live on Schley Ave. but I'm not sure about now. Nat is out west somewhere I believe. He moved away a year or so after his Dad died it seems like. I'm sure wherever he is, you'll find him singing.
I've gotten in touch with Jennifer (Reagan Riley). She should be updating soon.
I know Mark Jones is a Realtor. I'll call the board in the morning and get in touch with him. Tommy and I see Mark every now and then.
Does anyone happen to know where Mr. Ward is now? I'd love to catch up with him.

Valerie, Angela & Shari--

Yes, I attempted to contact Carlton, but I wasn't sure I'd gotten him since he hadn't registered. Glad to hear he got the message.

I've also contacted the following:

Nat Roper--contacted the bride of a wedding he was in as best man; she forwarded info to his wife, whose name is Amanda, I think; found an address but unlisted number for a Nathaniel W Roper in Brunswick, GA as well as listings for a Nathaniel Roper as Music Director at Lakeside Methodist Church and as Choral Director at Glynn Academy High, both in Brunswick; looks like, from google, that he went to school in Nebraska; maybe he came back?

Doug Meredith--married, in Atlanta 'burbs, doing pharmaceutical sales and dog shows

Apu Joshi--left a message at work and at a home number (message had his sister Anisha's voice, so I figure I at least got "in the neighborhood" and hope she'll pass on the info); I think he's an anesthesiologist at a practice in the 'burbs of Hotlanta; he's not responded to classmates.com message

Jeremy Powell, Laura Bond, Carol Causey Corbett--all have read messages I left on classmates.com but not registered (maybe I'm not helping matters); I also called Carol and left a message with her father-in-law

Brian Aliffi--I believe Jon Hyde is in contact with him

Sherri Ionno de la Cruz (or Delacruz)--found a number for (Micah &) Sherri de la Cruz in OH; left message

Holly Mathews Baker--Jennifer Peck Ennis is contacting her; Holly & Louis live on the same street as Jen's parents & Charlie Waters' mom

Christi Sweatt Forbes--tried calling a number for (John &) Christi S. Forbes in Savannah; no answer & no machine

Stephen Giles--left a message at number found for a (Susan C.--his mom?--&)Stephen Giles in Savannah.

Sean Gentle--left message at number for SeanAndre Gentle in IL

Darsi Sanders Shuller(?), Chris Salling, Jeff Heath--sent emails via their possible employers' websites; probably all longshots; Darsi may be married to and/or divorced from a Tim Shuller and working at the Kimberling Inn near Branson MO; Chris Salling may be in CA; Jeff Heath may be in Savannah w/ the Bonefish Grill (or NC or FL)

Alex Rossler--found a number for Alex (& Rachel) Rossler in TX; haven't tried calling it yet; does anybody know if that sounds right for him?

Charlie Waters--Charlie's got a profile on classmates.com but has not responded to emails from there; it doesn't look like he's updated it in awhile (maybe 2004?); however, he indicated that (at that time, anyway) he lived in Tampa, FL with his beau and could be reached at 813-494-7797. Anyone tried that? Otherwise, I would bet that his Mom Patty Parker is still living on Schley Ave in Savannah (I used to work with her at Armstrong).

Shawn Beasley--found possible number for S. Beasley in Sav'h; haven't called it yet

Michael D Brown is now Michael D Farley and he's registered as the latter

Stacy Dingle--found address but unlisted number in Union City, GA

Michael Claman--found address but unlisted number for Michael (B. Jr & Katie) Claman in Senora, GA

Michele L Cooper--found address for Michelle (& Mirhonda-- her sister?) Cooper but unlisted number in Savannah

Kenneth Hendrix--found address but unlisted number for Kenneth (& Kimberly) Hendrix in Lithonia, GA

Warren Brown--would his parents be Warren & Katherine Brown in Savannah? If so, I have a number for them

Wendy Jacoby--left message at where I think she's working as an orthopedic PA in Durango, CO but no response; I think you're right about her parents being out in Coffee Bluff, though; it's worth a shot

Cathy Malcolm--she found me; she lives in the next town over in Harker Heights, TX; one of her 2 children needs a liver transplant, so if you are so inclined, please pray for her daughter

Lynn Johnson, Fred Baughn--Theresa Bargeron is contacting them

Trey Bailey--didn't someone say that they know where he is?

If anyone would like to try reaching any of these people, please give me a holler and I'll pass on what I've found. I'm afraid I'm going to be charged with stalking our classmates....YIKES!

Hope this helps us avoid duplicating our efforts. :) But, surely, if people get contacted by more than one of us (sorry John Bayides, Carlton Ulmer, Angie Barton-Mixon), then I hope they will feel good that we've tried so hard to find them. :)

GOLF

Please dont forget to let me know if you or your spouse would like to play golf while we are there. I have only had a few people respond and some of those have been a maybe. I need to know what day will be good for you to play. I (being single) will most likely play Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I think it would be great if we can play Friday. This will allow us to catch up some and also meet spouses for the rest of the weekend.

Heather/Valerie,

Chuck Cooper's dad is still a minister in town. His number is listed on his website, charliecooperministries.com if you want to call him. I think Chuck may live on Columbus Dr. with his wife (Kari?), but I'm not 100% certain. I found that by googling him and seeing where they bought that house.

I'll keep looking for others!

Jenifer,
I left a message at Bro. Cooper's house about the reunion and website. Thanks for reminding me about him. I also left a message on Creswell's phone about the reunion and the website, so hopefully we'll have 2 more in a short time. Take Care!
