Various programs, like stress inoculation therapy, have been shown to decrease the rate of post-traumatic stress disorder from combat situations. It is required training before combat in all US branches of the military.

My driving with Dan Biskind to Selma, Alabama where they would not serve us in their restaurant, and police followed us which was quite frightening. Summer before my Sophomore Year and right after the killing of three civil rights teenagers down south.

Research for the Department of Defense developing Stress Inoculation Therapy which has been shown to reduce the rate of post- traumatic stress disorder in combat soldiers. This training is required for all military branches in the US prior to deployment to a combat situation.
