Stacy, Mrs Cook, had to retire due to health reasons.
Y'all remember when we beat White Hall our Jr year?? I watch that game film, to this day I cry like a baby.
God to go back and play just 1 more time...I'd hurt but I'd like it just one more time

Crystal, I am laughing so hard right now!! I had forgotten about the Scott thing, thanks for reminding me.
I still have a letter from Mrs. Barraclaugh to my mom telling her I talked to much!!
And that slide...OH MY GOSH, that was a blast! I could remember someone breaking their arm, but couldn't remember who.
That's about the same time Tammy Walker and I were playing kiss-chase with Scott, but I don't think I ever caught him. I used to have such a crush on him in Elementary!

Richard: I saw your picture. Nobody knows we're kin, right? By the way, looks like you need to get some Nair after those man cans.

I guess in East End we didnt have it that bad---the worst thing that could happen, you had to sit in the hall--trust me I know, as does Michael Woods and many others. We did have some kind of monstrosity of a jungle gym that gave plenty of people there first taste of a plaster cast-----I know that plenty of parents in East End went "What were they thinking" well mine did :-P

Everyone - I was hoping to not have to be the morality police...but. Aaron does not allow any vulgarities on the class of 88 site and I'm putting my foot down on this as well. My mother and several of the current school staff look at our site and I will not allow anything that I do not want my mother reading here! It offends me too! The RULES...no cussing, no slamming former teachers or administrators regardless of your true feelings. I hope those are the only 2 we need to have. Everything that has been posted today that violate these rules are being deleted this evening. KEEP IT CLEAN!!!!!

10/19/08 09:41 PM #261

Jamie Gartman

Sorry Pat, I thought an acronym was keeping it clean, but I guess we can just say "What in the heck?" moments.

So what are your What in the Heck moments? Moments or things from your school days that were so absurd you were left asking yourself What the Heck?

Mine is the big slide on the Sheridan Elementary School playground when we were there. It's hard to remember how big it was because things seemed so much bigger as kids than they are now, but I swear the thing was 25-30 feet high. I know I fell off the thing as did Robert Welch. Robert's fall was what made them take that death trap down. Apparently Mrs Bear Claw's daughter's fall and subsequent broken arm 3 years earlier didn't faze anybody. How many of us would let our 5-9 yr olds climb a 25-30 foot ladder without a safety cage and slide down that slide with no safety rails? It's amazing more kids didn't plummet to their demise on that thing.

What the heck?

Crystal Clark (Woods)

Sorry, Pat! Didn't realize we were offending anyone!

That slide hurt more than one person! Remember the first grade teacher Ms. Barraclaugh, who put Scott Taylor under a box when he got in trouble??? lol!!! Her daughter fell off that slide and broke her arm when we were in the first grade.

Christian, Scott must've been Da Man in elementary school, cuz I was crazy 'bout him too! In fact, my first kiss was with Scott in the back of his mom's van on the way home from the Bozo Show! (Just a peck, of course!) His mom took a bunch of us for Scott's birthday. I sure wish someone had a copy of that Bozo Show!

Richard, I posted the story of the joke Duffy Jackson tried to tell in 3rd grade class. I think that was what put us over the offensive threshold. I believe you know that story. LOL

Hey Pat I didn't know your mom gradutated in '89. That is too weird! haha just kidding! I guess we will have to get a "dirty 89" site for all you potty mouths.

Me, Paty, and Gartman went down to the track at halftime and saw a few folks, but not near as many as I would've liked. I called Talbert after the game. He had to leave after halftime due to a pressing engagement (deer camp). haha. I saw Tracy, Curtis, and Jim at the consession on my way in and then I guess they found a spot in the stands. I saw Sheila Ward, but I see her every Sunday. I saw Paul Allen and David Waters too. I waited under the bleachers for about 3 hours, but gave up (a phone call would've been nice!) haha. I'm up for the next home game!

Christian- you have to quit posting your responses to private messages. I looked for references all the way back in the posts and can't figure out what you were talking about. (I feel so left out) haha

Jim the only reason I spent so much time in the hall, was so that I could master "paper football"- its all about the "Method Behind The Madness". What is so bad I still sucked LOL

10/20/08 11:23 AM #269

Mike Tucker

Richard I know I was totally offended by "crazy gum nazi"- now "crazy sucker nazi","crazy cough drop nazi" even "crazy soup nazi"-thats all good man-But you broke out the "gum" and thats crossing the line............................. Ha-Ha
PAT we do thank and appreciate you for everything you are doing.

Anybody remember Coach Smith's Civics class where he'd make you sit in the hall and talk to Scooby Doo if you got in trouble? LOL

10/20/08 12:02 PM #271

Mike Tucker

Yeah Stacie I spent some time in that hall as well-I got my "Scooby Doo" time onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn-Ha Ha- Coach Smith was too cool-

I loved the midge. I used to skip lunch and go over there with Eddie Grace. I had the weirdest lunches back then. A quart of chocolate milk and a big grab of cool ranch doritos. Sounds gross now, but maybe I should try it out for a weight loss regimen. Seemed to work back then. haha!

Jim, The mexican place that's there now ain't bad. Beats anything East End has!
