Marla was my best friend in high school. We saw each other off and on over the years, but really reconnected 10 years ago when she moved back to the Austin area. We’ve had lunch together about once a month since then and many, many other adventures. We attended the State Democratic Convention twice together, attended women’s marches, went to the beach, met up in NYC and LA. All extremely fun experiences with Marla. I’ve also attended many of her family’s  events ; her children’s and grandchildren’s birthday  parties, high school performances, etc. I am very close to her children and most of her extended family. She was a very talented, accomplished woman, but to me she was my crazy friend, Marla. My world will not be the same without her.
