Ed Agnes

Separated from my previous employer in January 2019. Work moved to Texas. After unemployment ran out, I decided to get a Substitute Teaching certificate, which allowed me to work at the same middle school where Claudia teaches. Claudia taught Physical Science in McHenry Middle School and retired in May 2020. She is so thankful and happy for it.

Britt Keehan was married in August 2014. Greg is working at Echo Logistics and living in Chicago. Liz Thornton was married Sept. 2018 and is a CPA in Elmhurst. The youngest is Dr. Alison, is working in Monroe, WI as a dentist.

Only doing RAGBRAI every other year now. Rode it in the summer of 2019 for the tenth time. I do miss talking with classmates and would enjoy hearing from anyone who would want to catch up on what's happened. I wish I could hit monthly meetings at BA's.

I remember 3 of us dragging a long sewage pipe onto Jeanne Gorman's parents lawn, across their drive way, late at night and having to get 6 guys to get it back off the next morning. Seems we were stronger in the night.

And then there was Freshman Latin class with Sister Felix. It was the last class of the day, and week. I never thought of myself as one to get into trouble, but evidently I did and heard my name over the PA for detention. Sister was out of the room so I took off my shoe and threw it at the PA speaker just as she re-emerged back into the room. Saw me and said a Saturday morning Latin class was on my agenda for the next day. This was for all the kids who were doing poorly in class, which I wasn’t one of. I came the next morning and for some reason she asked if I had had anything for breakfast. I said that I didn’t have breakfast and she took me over to the convent and the nuns fed me bacon and eggs, with a follow-up bowl of oatmeal since I showed such an appetite. I wasn’t about to not eat as much as I could since I didn’t want to go back to the Saturday class. When I did get back, class was about over and I decided that public displays of disapproval should not be a part of my life anymore.

And then there was Mahan's favorite, Mr. Ausdemore. Hard to believe, but he was our basketball coach in 8th grade and actually had us laying on our backs and walked on our stomachs to toughen us up.
